Cuando B.B.King llego a Argentina para tocar en Obras Sanitarias Pappo como buen fanatico del Blues hizo todo lo posible para ser telonero y lo consiguiò, ademàs de ser el telonero B.B King lo escuchò con mucha atenciòn en su camarìn asi que cuando B.B salio al escenario y toco un par de tema llamò al Carpo para que toque a su lado, el Carpo en ese entonces se estaba bañando en los camerinos y los asistentes fueron corriendo a buscarlo y a comentarle que B.B. King querìa tocar con èl, a lo que el carpo duchandose respondiò:"si, si decile que ya voy jaja", al ver la insistencia de los asistentes saliò corriendo del baño se seco como pudo y saliò todo mojado al escenario donde su idolo lo esperaba para tocar.

“B.B. King, gran maestro del blues, y Joan Baez realizan un concierto en la célebre cárcel de Sing Sing, la más pesada de las penitenciarías de Nueva York. Era día de Acción de Gracias, en ese entonces, los artistas recorrían las cárceles en apoyo a los detenidos por oponerse a la guerra de Vietnam. Ese concierto fue registrado por nueve cámaras y algún periódico gringo lo definió como “uno de los mejores shows en la historia de la música”, aunque no se limita a registrar la actuación de los músicos sino que muestra la condición de los presos. (…) Después del canto gospel de unas negras frenéticas que encandilan a los presos, después de eso que transcurre durante media hora aparece en escena —es un decir— Joan Baez con una camisa de blue(s) jean y una chompa con cuello beattle —remember México—abrazada a su guitarra. Les dice a los presos sin dramatismo que lamenta su situación y que la música es para que pasen un buen momento y les ofrece su música. Un negro aspira su cigarro, mientras otros hombres se desparraman en sus asientos como si estuvieran en algún teatro al aire libre. Finaliza la primera interpretación, y Joan Baez invita a su hermana menor, el mismo perfil, similar cabellera y la pura inocencia, abrazada también a su guitarra.
