Nails Inc November - Diet Coke - Paris

Plum creme

Paris is a shiny plum creme.

Application was good, swatches are 2 coats, no top coat.

So back in 2010 Nails Inc teamed up with Boots (drugstore) and Diet Coke to offer a free bottle of specially branded Nails Inc polishes when you bought 2 bottles of Diet Coke.

I'm not a coke drinker but of course I still bought the coke and donated the bottles to pals - anything for free polish eh?!

There were 4 shades available in 2010, according to my spreadsheet I might be one missing from the following collection - looks like I have all the 2010 shades but only 3 of the colours from 2011 when they ran the promotion again with different shades.

Nails Inc November - Glamour magazine giveaways

Nails Inc freebies

This month's Glamour magazine has a choice of 1 of 4 free Nails Inc polishes.

As the magazine is only £2 (and I'm obsessed) I picked up all four!

The colours are:

Hanover Square - burgundy creme
Marylebone Mews - Grey/lilac/taupe creme
Tate - classic red creme
Wigmore Street - Deep purple creme

Hanover Square is a wonderful vampy burgundy creme, fabulous application and so shiny.

Marylebone Mews is a grey/lilac that can look a bit taupe (bottle shot).  I thought this might be similar to the classic nails inc shade, Porchester Square, but a quick comparison showed Marylebone Mews is much cooler and less brown/taupe than Porchester Square.  This is the only shade that might've benefited from 3 coats.

Tate is one of the earliest Nails Inc colours, a classic glamorous red creme.

Wigmore Street is a dark purple creme that never looks black.

Formula and application on all these was up to Nails Inc's usual high standard.

All swatches are 2 coats with no topcoat.

If you haven't already, get yourself down to your nearest news outlet to pick these up!*

Nails Inc - The Cocktail Collection - Maliblush

Bright orange creme

The last of the Malibu Cocktail Collection is Mailblush...

Maliblush is a slightly reddish orange creme

Application and formula were spot on and these swatches are 2 coats, no top coat.

Sadly despite Malibu holding events where Maliblush cocktails were available I've been unable to find a recipe, so feel free to invent your own with some red/orange ingredients!

The other sweet thing about these themed bottles is on the back they say 'do not consume' and
'enjoy Malibu responsibly'.  I had to laugh at the thought of someone thinking they were tiny bottles of drinkable cocktails....!

Nails Inc - The Cocktail Collection - Malibu Mojito

Bright turquoise creme

Here's the next Cocktail, and hooray, it's one that actually made with rum, although not Malibu....

Malibu Mojito is a bright turquoise creme, not quite as green leaning as the pics but it's a close run thing.

Swatches were 2 coats with no top coat.

And again the Malibu site has a cocktail to match, here's Malibu Mojita, made with Malibu Red, which is Malibu with added Tequila - who knew!

Nails Inc - The Cocktail Collection - Malibu Cosmo

Raspberry pink creme

The sun is still shining in my part of the UK so here's the first of 'The Cocktail Collection', a set of 3 polishes that were given away with Malibu, a rum based drink with added cocount liqueur.  Despite liking rum and coconuts, I'm really not a fan of Malibu, too sweet for me!

First up is Malibu Cosmo.  A strangely named one as I love a good Cosmo, but Malibu is not an ingredient, nor is rum!

Malibu Cosmo is a raspberry pink creme, not a madly unique colour, I'm sure I could find a near dupe in my extensive Nails Inc collection!  But it's nice, formula and application were great as you'd expect with a Nails Inc creme.

Swatch shown is 2 coats, no top coat.

I do love the Malibu palm trees overprint.

And for all the Malibu lovers, here's a recipe for a Malibu Island Cosmo

Revlon - Ruby Ribbon

Red and pink glitterbomb

Revlon Ruby Ribbon is an amazingly festive looking glitterbomb - and unsurprisingly  it was a Christmas gift with purchase in December 2012 from Superdrug.

There's  a lot going on in there but here goes.  It starts with masses of pinky/red glitter in a sheer base, then there's lots of fine pink/plum bar glitter and finally a handful of  holo bar glitter.

Definitely click the images for bigger versions of the gorgeousness.

It does dry a little lumpy, I've added a coat of top coat to the 2, yes only 2, coats of polish.

And apologies for the messiness of some fingers, this polish was not very forgiving or easy to clean up.

So happy I picked this up - it's gorgeous and unique in my collection.

Nails Inc - Instyle Bluebelle

Periwinkle blue creme

I know it's only February and temperatures here are still in single figures, but we've had some sunshine, the snowdrops are out and it's my Birthday this week so I'm celebrating with a gorgeous springy colour from last year.

Bluebelle was a covermount gift with the June 2012 issue of InStyle magazine, there were two other colours available, a bright pink and a peach creme.  But this was the standout for me.  I *love* this kind of bluey/purple.

Bluebelle is a gorgeous periwinkle blue creme

Swatch shown is 2 coats with no top coat.  Like most pastel cremes this was a little streaky and tricky to apply but you can see it evened out nicely on the second coat.

When I first got this I thought it was going to be dupey for something else in my nails inc collection but nada. It's certainly in the same colour family as Chalk Farm but much lighter.

In fact this is so pretty I may have to resort to ebay for a backup
