As most of you know, 2012 was a special year for me. I was pregnant and in august I gave birth to our beautiful boy Tyler. Yayyy! Due to extreme fatigue and nausea during pregnancy and being 24/7 on my happy babyblue cloud after Tyler was born, I posted alot less manis this year. But that doesn't mean I didn't try to. I painted my nails often and sometimes even took pictures with the intent to show them to you. It's 2013 now and these pictures are still on my laptop waiting to be shown. So here is a small recap of some of the mani's I wore in 2012, but never posted.
(and if you can make it all the way untill the end of this post, I might have a bonus-babypicture for you :-) )

Zoals de meeste van jullie wel weten, was 2012 een speciaal jaar voor mij. Ik was zwanger en in augustus beviel ik van onze prachtige zoon Tyler. Wegens extreme vermoeidheid en misselijkheid tijdens mijn zwangerschap en wegens extreme blijdschap nadat Tyler was geboren heb ik bijzonder weinig mani's aan jullie laten zien dit jaar. Maar dat betekent niet dat ik niet vele pogingen heb gedaan tot het maken van blogposts. Ik had meestal gelakte nagels en nam er vaak ook foto's van met de bedoeling deze hier te laten zien. Het is nu 2013 en die foto's staan nog steeds op mijn laptop. Dus hier is een kleine samenvatting van lakjes die ik wel gedragen heb, maar nooit heb laten zien.
(en als je het helemaal volhoudt tot het einde van deze blogpost, dan heb ik daar misschien wel een bonus-babyfoto voor je :-) )

Revlon Beach: Very sheer, needed 4 thick coats. I'm not a fan of scented nails.
Revlon Beach: Erg dun, 4 dikke laagjes nodig. Ik ben geen fan van geurtjes op mn nagels.

Kleancolor Red Hot: Lovely red glitters in a red transparent base. Smells awful, drytime is long.Kleancolor Red Hot: Mooie rode glitters in een doorzichtige rode lak. Stinkt gruwelijk en droogt langzaam

Nubar Chocolate Caramel is a caramel color with a light green shimmer. Just lovely.
Nubar Chocolate Caramel is een warme caramel kleur met helder groene shimmer. Mooi kleurtje.

Nubar Black polkadot is a versatile layering polish. Can be worn over almost every polish. 
Nubar Black Polkadot is een veelzijdige topcoat. Je kan deze lak bijna over iedere lak heen dragen.

I looove OPI Pros and Bronze! Ultra small coral and golden flakies in a clear base , 3 coats.
I think this one looks good with every skintone, shape or lengthe of nail.
Oh ik hou van OPI Pros and Bronze! Super fijne koraal en goud kleurige flakies in transparante basis, 3 laagjes.
Ik denk dat deze lak prachtig past bij iedere huidskleur, vorm of lengte van nagel.

Models Own Slate Green is a very pretty teal, application is a breeze.
Models Own Slate Green is een prachtig groenbauw lakje, smeert zo makkelijk op.

If you can't decide which polish to wear...wear them all ;-)
Als je niet kan kiezen welk lakje je op moet doen...draag ze allemaal ;-)

Milani Hi Tech looks amazing in the sun. Not a bright holo, but still pretty.
Milani Hi Tech ziet er super uit in de zon. Geen opvallende holo, maar wel mooi.

I wore Kleancolor Holo Purple over a medium purple. It's not a holo though, but a duochrome glitter.
The smell is very very bad. 
Ik droeg Kleancolor Holo Purple over een  paars lakje. Het is trouwens geen holo, maar een duochrome glitter.
De geur is echt vreselijk.

Zoya Ivanka is one of the best greens I own. Very colorful and sparkly.
Zoya Ivanka is één van mijn mooiste groene lakjes. Heel kleurrijk en glimmend.

Essence Grand-Plie in Black is ultra glossy, I'm not wearing topcoat in this picture!
Essence Grand -Plie in Black is echt super glimmend, ik draag geen topcoat op deze foto!

Essie Tart Deco is perfect for the summer, it looks great if you are a bit tanned!
Essie Tart Deco is perfect voor de zomer, het staat geweldig bij een zongebruind huidje!

Herôme Essaouira is a light green / mint color that gives you a fresh and colorful look!
Herôme Essaouira is een licht groene / mint kleurige lak die je handen een frisse en kleurrijke look geeft!

Kleancolor Chunky Holo Black is a brownish transparent base filled with opalescent duochrome glitters in various sizes. Mostly they shift yellow, orange and green. Very pretty. And like all Kleancolors also very smelly and long drytime.
Kleancolor Chunky Holo Black is een bruinige transparante basis vol met duochrome glitters in verschillende groottes. Voornamelijk kleuren ze geel, oranje en groen. Heel mooi. Zoals alle andere Kleancolors stinken ze als een beerput en drogen langzaam.

OPI Black Spotted. I believe there are no dupes yet. Major tipwear within hours. But I really didn't care, I was just happy I own a bottle.
Opi Black Spotted. Volgens mij is dit een uniek lakje. De lak slijt echt snel aan de punten, al binnen een paar uur. Het kon me weinig schelen, ik was al blij dat ik 'm in mijn bezit heb.

Anny Moonlight is a light metallic eggplant color. Not very  special, but  it looks nice.  Amazing wear, after several days no tipwear.
Anny Moonlight is een lichte metallic aubergine kleur. Niet zo'n speciaal kleurtje, maar het staat wel mooi. Blijft geweldig goed zitten, na meerdere dagen zat het nog perfect.

2B nailpolish. Black with golden glitter. Can't remember a thing about this polish. Looks nice though.
2B nagellak. Zwart met gouden glitters. Ik weet niets meer van dit lakje. Ziet er wel mooi uit.

Herôme Utreg. This polish is named after the town I live in. So obviously I needed to buy  this polish. It's a bright yellow polish with a white/silver shimmer. Needed 4 coats to get good coverage. It was a bit streeky. 
Herôme Utreg. Deze lak heet naar de stad waarin ik woon, dus natuurlijk moest ik deze kopen! Het is een zonnig geel kleurtje met een witte/zilveren shimmer erin. Er waren 4 laagjes nodig voor dit resultaat. Ook was het een beetje streperig.

3 new Models Own Beetlejuice polishes! Swatches and review.

Monday March 19th, I had it marked in my calendar because that morning the 3 new Beetlejuice polishes would  finally be available on the Models Own website. I ordered them immediately and 3 days later they were delivered at my door! Super fast shipping from England to Holland!

Maandag 19 maart, deze datum had ik in mn agenda gezet omdat op die ochtend de drie nieuwe Beetlejuice lakjes in de verkoop zouden gaan op de Models Own website. Ik heb ze gelijk besteld en 3 dagen later werden ze al bij me bezorgd! Super snelle levering vanuit Engeland naar Nederland!

Copper Pot | Indian Ocean | Tropical Sun

Looking at the bottles I was most excited about Indian Ocean and Tropical Sun, they looked like perfect spring/summer colors to me. Copper Pot looks nice in the bottle, but seemed more like an autumn color to me. I only ordered Copper Pot to complete the collection, but after swatching it's the best of these 3 polishes!

Als ik alleen naar de flesjes keek verheugde ik me het meest op Indian Ocean en Tropical Sun, die zien eruit als de perfecte kleurtjes voor de lente en zomer. Ik vond Copper Pot er wel leuk uitzien in het flesje, maar dat leek me toch echt meer een herfst kleurtje. Ik heb Copper Pot alleen besteld om de collectie compleet te hebben, maar na het swatchen is dit absoluut mijn favoriet van de 3 lakjes! 

Models Own - Tropical Sun

Tropical Sun is a nice color, mostly a soft orange with subtle golden shimmer and tiny silver glitter.

I wish it was a brighter and stronger multichrome with lots of orange/peach/golden in it!

The color looks better on the picture than it does in real life! Especially the picture below came out much better and brighter looking. But it's still a nice color in real life if you are patient enough to apply lots of coats.

That brings me to the big disappointment of this polish: Sheer as hell. 4 Very thick coats and still some visible nail line. That just sucks.

Tropical Sun is een mooi kleurtje, voornamelijk een zachte kleur oranje met subtiel gouden shimmer en wat kleine zilveren gittertjes.

Ik had het leuk gevonden als de kleur wat feller was met meer multichrome oranje/perzik/goud erin.

De kleur ziet er wel wat beter uit op de foto's dan in het echt. Vooral de onderstaande foto is echt mooier en feller dan in het echt. Maar het is toch wel een prima kleurtje hoor als je het geduld hebt om heel veel lagen lak aan te brengen. Echt het is zo doorzichtig als de pest. 4 lagen en nog steeds kan je mn nagel er doorheen zien. Dat is gewoon ruk.

Tropical Sun.

After Tropical Sun I decided to swatch my personal favorite next: Indian Ocean. It lookes so magical in the bottle...but I'm almost ashamed to show you how it looks like on my nails.

Na Tropical Sun besloot ik om mijn persoonlijke favoriet de swatchen: Indian Ocean. Het ziet er zo betoverend uit in het potje...maar ik schaam me bijna om je te laten zien hoe dit eruit ziet op mijn nagels.

Indian Ocean

Indian Ocean has a light blue base filled with bright pink shimmer. The pink shimmer is amazing, it's very strong, sometimes leaning purple. Love this shimmer.
What I don't love about this polish is that this is 4 thick coats! Yes, 4 coats, can you believe it? You can see my entire nail through all these layers. This makes me just angry! I'm not interested in another shimmery topcoat, that is not how this is described on the website and it looks horrible on it's own. Sad.

Indian Ocean heeft een lichtblauwe basis propvol fel roze shimmer. De roze shimmer is echt goed, lekker fel en neigt soms naar paars. Geweldige shimmer.

Wat ik echt haat aan deze lak is dat dit maar liefst 4 dikke lagen zijn! Ja, ik draag hier 4 lagen, ongelofelijk toch? Je kan mn volledige nagel nog zien door al die lagen. Hier word ik dus echt kwaad van. Ik ben totaal niet geïnteresseerd in nog een topcoat met shimmer, dat is ook niet hoe deze lak wordt omschreven op de website en de lak ziet er in zn eentje vreselijk uit op je nagel. Triest.

Indian Ocean

After these two disappointing sheer polishes I expected nothing good from Copper Pot. But I was pleasantly surprised by this polish!

Na deze twee teleurstellend slecht dekkende lakken verwachtte ik niets goed van Copper Pot. Maar ik was echt blij verrast door deze lak. 

Copper Pot

Copper Pot is a beautiful multichrome, the base is a warm orange that flashes alot of gold, red and even a bit green. 

Everytime you turn your hand this polish looks different, this polish rocks!

And this is three coats, it's opaque and no visible nail line, just as it should.
We have a winner!

Copper Pot is een prachtige multichrome, de basis is een warme oranje kleur waarin je een boel goud, rood en soms zelfs groen ziet.
Iedere keer als je je hand draait ziet de lak er anders uit, deze lak is tegek!

En dit zijn drie lagen, het is dekkend en geen zichtbare nagel lijn, zoals het hoort.
Een top lakje!

Copper Pot
Look at how awesome this looks at this angle, so fiery!
Kijk nou zo geweldig dit eruit ziet vanuit deze hoek, zo vurig!

En in deze hoek zie je de goud groene glans het beste

Copper Pot is an amazing addition to the awesome previous 5 colors in this Beetlejuice collection! But Tropical Sun and especially Indian Ocean make me just sad. A polish shoudn't require 4 coats or more to look somewhat decent. Applying a fouth coat should be a choise, not a necessity. 

Copper Pot is een geweldige toevoeging aan de vorige 5 prachtige kleuren in de Beetlejuice collectie! Maar Tropical Sun en vooral Indian Ocean maken me een beetje triest. Een lak zou geen 4 of meer lagen nodig moeten hebben om er een beetje fatsoenlijk uit te zien. Het opdoen van een vierde laag zou een keuze moeten zijn, niet een bittere noodzaak.

Models Own - Pinky Brown from the Beetlejuice collection. Swatches and review.

We have some typical fall weather this week: rain, wind (Almost got blown off my bike this afternoon when I was going home after work), cold, massive lack of daylight. I don't like the fall, it's my least favorite season and I can't do decent swatches either. So here is another Beetlejuice polish I swatched weeks ago when we still had a few rays of sun left.

Het is typisch herfst weer deze week: regen, wind (werd bijna van mn fietsje geblazen onderweg naar huis), kou, vreselijk gebrek aan daglicht. Ik hou niet van de hefst, het is mn minst favoriete seizoen en dan kan ik ook nog eens geen fatsoenlijke swatches maken. Dus hier nog maar een lakje van de Beetlejuice collectie die ik weken geleden gefotografeerd heb toen er nog wat straaltjes zon over waren.

Color
Pinky Brown is not pink and not brown either. I think it's more a purple and copper foil. Sometimes there is a pink flash when you look at this in the sun, and sometimes it flashes gold. Very duochrome and very sparkly.

Kleur
Pinky Brown is niet roze en ook niet bruin. Ik vind het meer paars en koper met folie deeltjes. Soms zit er in de zon wel een roze glans in en soms zie je een gouden glans. Erg duochrome en glitterend.

Application
Great, it looked good in two coats, but I did three. Dries realively fast and i like the brush.

Applicatie
Goed, het was al mooi in slechts twee laagjes, maar ik deed er toch drie. Droogt best snel en ik vind het een fijn borsteltje.

I'm really into duochromes lately, I even prefer them over glitter at the moment! I'm really hoping there will be more duochromes from many more brands next year!

Ik ben de laatste tijd helemaal gek op duochromes, ik vind ze nu zelfs leuker dan glitters! Ik hoop echt dat er meer mooie duochromes zullen komen van andere merken!

I was hoping this polish would look more like OPI's The Show Must Go On, but it's definately not, although they could have been related ;-)-
By the way, I desperately need a backup for my OPI The Show Must Go On! If anyone has it and doesn't love it...please let me know, Í'm willing to swap for it. -

Ik hoopte dat dat deze lak meer op OPI's The Show Must Go On zou lijken, maar dat is dus niet zo, maar het had wel familie kunnen zijn ;-)
- Trouwens, ik heb dringend een backup nodig voor mijn OPI The Show Must Go On. Als iemand er een flesje van heeft en het niet gebruikt... laat het me alsjeblieft weten, ik wil je ervoor vergoeden in lak of geld. -

Models Own - Golden Green from the Beetlejuice Collection. Swatches and Review

I just realised I'm posting less than ususal, last November I only did 6 posts! I'm just too busy with doing other fun things and I haven't swatched in weeks. Time flies by so fast. I do wear nailpolis all the time, but rarely get to take decent pictures of them. So here's a quick post to start december properly and I hope to to a little more posts this month.

Ik besef me nu pas dat ik de laatste tijd minder post dan normaal. Afgelopen december heb ik slechts 6 posts gedaan! Ik ben gewoon te druk emt leuke dingen en ik heb ook al weken niets geswatched. De tijd vliegt echt gruwelijk hard voorbij. Ik draag wel de hele tijd nagellak, maar ik heb zelden de tijd om er fatsoenlijke foto's van te maken. Dus hierbij een snelle post om december fatsoenlijk mee te beginnen en ik hoop dat ik deze maand wat meer tijd heb om te posten

Color
Models Own - Golden Green
What's in a name? In this case, everything!
It's metallic green with a strong golden flash / duochrome. The gold makes it look more limegreen. Not very duochrome, not all that special, but still pretty. But this is my least favorite of the collection.

Kleur
Models Own - Golden Green
Alles wat je moet weten zit al in de naam!
Het is een metallic groen lakje met een gouden glans / duocrome. Door het goud lijkt het meer limoengroen. Niet heel erg duochrome, iik niet heel bijzonder, maar wel mooi. Dit is mijn minst favoriete van de collectie.

Application
Be a bit precise while applying this one, it tends to get streeky. But other than that it covered well, I did three coats, but could have done two thick coats.
Applicatie
Je moet een beetje secuur zijn met het aanbrengen van de lak, want je krijgt snel strepen. Maar naast dat dekt het prima, ik heb drie laagjes op, maar twee dikke laagjes had ook prima gekund.

On the picture above you can see the basecolor better, I really like that color, It's darker and a more armygreen.

Op de foto hierboven zie je de basiskleur beter, dat vind ik echt een prima kleurtje, het is wat donkerder en lijkt wat meer legergroen.

Models Own - Emerald Black from the Beetlejuice collection. Swatches and review

I actually didn't want to order this polish at first, it seemed like just another black-with-green-shimmer like we've seen many times before. But as I bought the boxed set it was included and I'm glad I got it!

Deze lak wilde ik eigenlijk in eerste instantie niet eens bestellen, het leek me weer zo'm zwart-met-groene-shimmer zoals we die al zo vaak hebben gezien. Maar ik kocht het complete pakketje in cadeauverpakking en daar zat 'ie bij en nu ben ik heel blij dat ik 'm heb!

Color
Black with green shimmer. Sometimes the shimmer looks more green, sometimes it looks like there is a little blue in it. The color is very pretty and glossy.

Kleur
Zwart met groene shimmer. Soms lijkt de shimmer heel groen, soms lijkt het alsof er wat blauw in zit. De kleur is mooi en heel glimmend.

Application
Almost a onecoater, but still needs two coats for the perfect coverage. I guess this is one of those polishes that become a onecoater after you've yoused it a couple of times and it thickened a bit.

Applicatie
Bijna goed in één laagje, maar je hebt wel echt twee laagjes nodig om het mooi dekkend te krijgen. Ik denk dat dit zo'n lakje is dat na een paar keer gebruiken een beetje indikt en in één laagje dekt.

This is by no means a duochrome polish like the other polishes of this collection, but it still is very pretty!

Dit is zeker geen duochrome zoals de andere lakjes van de collectie, maar het is wel echt mooi!

Models Own - Aqua Violet from the Beetlejuice collection. Review & swatches.

I've shown you the entire Models Own Beetlejuice collection when it first arrived. I did some quick swatches, but being duochromes they all deserve more than one picture each. So here is the first of the 5 reviews of this collection.

Ik heb je eerder al de gehele Models own Beetlejuice collectie laten zien toen ik het net binnen had. Ik heb toen wat snelle swatches laten zien, maar aangezien het duochromes zijn verdienen ze allemaal meer dan één foto. Dus hierbij krijg je de eerste review van deze 5 lakjes uit de collectie

Color
Blue with purple duochrome. Sometimes the blue looks more greenish turquoise.
The duochrome effect is very visible on the nail.
This is a very nice color and a great addition to my stash.

Kleur
Blauw met paars duochrome. Soms lijkt het blauw meer groene turkooise.
Het duochrome effect is zeer zichtbaar tijdens het dragen van de lak.
Dit is een mooi lakje en een geweldige aanvulling op mijn collectie.

Application
Sheer on the firts coat, looks good with two, but it's perfect on the third coat.
It needed topcoat to be nice and glossy.
You have to be precise while applying this one because there can be some visible brushstrokes.

Applicatie
Vrij dun met het eerste laagje, ziet er al prima uit met twee, maar perfect met drie laagjes.
Je heb wel echt topcoat nodig voor een mooi glanzend resultaat.
Als je tijdens het opdoen goed oplet en netjes werkt heb je geen last van zichtbare strepen van je kwastje.

On the pictures below you can really see how the blue sometimes looks more turqoise.

Op deze foto's beneden kan je goed zien hoe het blauw in deze lak soms meer turkooise lijkt.
Ik heb de kleuren van deze foto niet bewerkt!

In the bottle this one doesn't look very special, you have to wear it to really appreciate this polish.
If you love duochromes, you will love this one

In het flesje ziet deze lak er niet heel speciaal uit, je moet deze lak echt dragen om te zien hoe mooi het is.
Als je van duochromes houdt dan ga je deze echt leuk vinden
