Zoya Nyx

  PRESS SAMPLE

Happy July everyone.  Today I have Nyx from the Zoya Spring '13 PixieDust collection to show you.

Nyx is a blurple/dark periwinkle shade with silver glitter.  The base is somewhere between a crelly and full jelly.  The sheerness of the base means it will require at least 3 coats for opacity, which is what I used in the photos below, but also means you can layer the shades together for gradients and new colors.
The formula and application were amazing.  It felt like the polish was applying itself almost.  I wore this for several days with no top coat and wear was great.  Minimal chips or tip wear.  I used Duri Rejuvacote as my base.

So far I have really enjoyed all of the textured polishes I've tried.  The texture doesn't bother me like I feared it would at first.  I really like the color of Nyx.  It's not quite denim, but not really purple either.  There's a bit of grey that gives the polish a muted quality.

China Glaze Fancy Pants and Scattered & Tattered

PRESS SAMPLES

Happy Friday everyone!  I hope you all have fun plans for the weekend.  Today I'm bringing you the last of my China Glaze Avant Garden and Glitz collection swatches.

Fancy Pants is a blurple polish with a pink shimmer.  The base is mostly purple with strong hints of blue.  Application was good and the formula wasn't as runny as Sunday Funday.  The hubby actually liked this color which gives it bonus points in my book.  You do need a top coat with this one.  The polish dries a bit matte/not as shiny as the rest of the collection.  I used 2 coats of polish over Finger Paints base coat.  I did not use a top coat in these photos.

Scattered & Tattered is a red and black glitter mix from the Glitz collection.  The glitter mix is the same as the rest of the collection.  The formula is on the thicker side like Razzle Me, Dazzle Me.  This is another one that needs thinner before use.  Also like the rest of the collection, a dabbing method of application will give you the best results.  I used one coat over Fancy Pants and no top coat in the following photos.

China Glaze Modify Me

The second polish from the China Glaze Tranzitions collection I have to show you is Modify Me.

Modify Me is a light blurple, not quite periwinkle, with a silver/pearl shimmer without top coat.  Formula and application were pretty good, but you will see a few brush strokes.  I used 2 coats of Modify Me over Finger Paints base coat.

Once you add top coat, Modify Me becomes more purple.  The color difference is pretty noticeable with top coat, but again the polish becomes more streaky with the addition.  I used China Glaze Fast Forward top coat and used different techniques on each finger.

I like both colors of Modify Me, with and without top coat.  I would like it better if top coat didn't add streaks.
