Happy Day Wishes

Good morning everyone, Nazeema here!!
Chiming in a little late this week.  Trying to get back in the groove and find my mojo spirit.
Do you ever sit at your desk and just stare at your supplies?
When I get crafters block, I turn to my distress inks.
With no plan in mind, without a guide, I just color, blend, spritz until something clicks.

So before I move into my card today, I want to remind you to check out January's release HERE!!

So for my card today, I am playing with my distress inks.
I used the following colors on my card today:

I painted my Piccolo: Cock A Doodle Do with black gesso and simply laid it on top of the colored background.  I then stamped the sentiment using Versafine ink.

Thanks for stopping by today.
See you back tomorrow!

Hugs.

Spring Florals

The flowers were created with the Spring Florals stencil from SweetStamps line - Art Stencils, it has four flowers on one stencil and this card uses two of them.  I also used the Basket Weaves stencil around the edges.

I used a simply method of masking off using mainly the straight edge of paper and painters tape and only had to make a couple cuts to curve my lines and moved the paper around as needed for the next sponging.

other known supplies:
Images: SweetStamps - Wishing you Happiness

Inks: Ranger Distress Inks: Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, Forest Moss, Bundled Sage, Mustard Seed, Squeezed Lemonade, Salty Ocean, Faded Jeans, Antique Linen, sentiment - Memento - Nautical Blue

Tools: From Perfect Paper Crafting - Perfect Layers, Perfect Cutting Mat, Xacto craft knife, make up wedges/sponges

Happy Easter Peeps

Good morning...
Nazeema here sharing my weekly card with you.
Are you ready for Easter!!??? We are and far in advance than normal too!!
We are spending the afternoon with our furry friends at the Animal Shelter.

This weeks challenge at SweetStamps is "Hippity Hop""Easter" theme.
I have been all over these new Peeps piccolos, since they were released a few weeks back.  Jennifer McGuire did a tutorial on coloring embossing paste and I knew I have to try it on these guys.
Even though I am not a marshmallow fan, these little bunnies sure are cute!!!
I started with the Tulip Lattice Stencil.  Using a circle die, I created a circle that provided as a guide for each bunny. I wanted to keep the space above them clean.  Then I colored my embossing paste with distress ink re-inkers.  You need very little of this stuff.  If you want a stronger color, then add more.  I let these dry overnight, then added black dimensional pearl as eyes.
Here is a close up.  I love the texture, which the actual peeps do have!!
Well I hope that you and your family have a blessed Easter.

See you soon!!
Hugs.

Orange Poppies

SweetStamps.com has a new release featuring some wonderful new items which include stamps, stencils and new products from the Globecraft and Piccolo line.

My card features an image from the new set Poppy Garden which I stamped to a Spellbinder die cut panel and masked off to add the Memory Box mesh stencil design using Ranger Distress Ink - Black Soot.

The image was colored with Chameleon Pens: OR4 was touched to RD4 which created a darker center and NU3 was colored over all the blossoms to tone down the orange.  I added the blue shading with a blender pen and chalks.

Pink Dahlia

Roxie here, my card features the dahlia image, sentiment and a couple of the ATC stencils paired up with the Ranger Distress Sprays and the image is colored with Chameleon Pens.

I used Chameleon Pens to color the image; if you aren't familiar with this product - one marker will do the job of three or more markers of the other brands on the market.
Colors: flower center - Y03, blossoms PK3,PR4, leaves and stem - 0L3, Y03

The pink panel is watercolor paper misted with water and then misted with two colors of distress sprays while wet and once dry the white spray was added.  I then used a couple of the ATC stencils and sponged the design to add character.

Images: SweetStamps - Dahlia, Beautiful Day
Paper: Beckett Expression Radiance - image panel, The Paper Company - white textured, unknown watercolor paper and green for border
Ink: Memento - Tuxedo Black, Ranger Distress Ink - Picked Raspberry

Silhouetts Over Color

Hello, it's Roxie here today to show you a colorful card using distress inks for color and the Perfect Airbrush to blow white acrylic paint in full strength and also slightly diluted onto the colors.  The chevron pattern is created with stencil and molding paste.  The black images are stamped on, the white images are die cuts.

I used the 1/16" and 1/4" Perfect Layers rulers to create my mats/borders.

The envelope and insert were masked off, sponged with ink then the black image stamped beyond the color line.

The flower die was cut in both white and black and the white is offset over the black to create a slight shadow effect.

Supplies:
Ink: Ranger Distress Inks - Peacock Blue, Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed, Memento - Tuxedo Black
Paint: Ranger -Adirondack- white acrylic
Image: SweetStamps - ArtsyFarty - Foliage #1
Dies and Punches: Die-namites - flowers, Martha Stewart - butterflies
Plastic stencil: Die Cuts with a View
Paper: Core'dinations - dusty purple, yellow, Remember When - black, Beckett Expressions - Radiance for image panel
Other: Golden Gel Mediums - light molding paste, Aleene's tacky glue for attaching flowers and butterflies, self sticking Forever in Time gems, unknown clear gems (scattered around the flowers), Aleene's Paper Glaze for adhesive, Stickles - Yellow

Mixed Media Stripes

Shelly here with my Stripes challenge card.
I added color to the background using Ranger Distress Inks.  The inks were tapped onto the craft mat and spritzed with water.  I dragged/ran the cardstock through the color- each color was dried with a heat gun before I applied the next color.
I added the 'stripes' with a stamp and brown Distress ink. I also sponged the edges of the card with Brown Distress ink to add stripes with the Rounded Square stencil.
The 'buck' head is a Picolo accents and is embossed with Enamel EP. I used Mermaid Tears on the top and Brownstone on the body.

Here are the SweetStamps products I used on my card:

I hope you will join in with the STRIPES challenge this week found HERE.
