Oh Happy Day

Hello! Kim here to share this card I made using the Sweet Cuts Flower Trio die. I started by die-cutting the flowers with the green cardstock. After that I cut each flower again in yellow, red and blue cardstocks. This is a great way to use up my small scrap pieces of cardstock. I cut each flower at the base to separate it from the stems and leaves and set it aside. I stenciled the clouds background and added some glass bubbles using dimensional glaze to adhere them onto the card front. I started piecing the flowers together by placing the outlines onto the card. I then placed the solid pieces of the flowers and leaves into the outline creating an inlaid look. Last of all I stamped the sentiment onto white cardstock.

Beautiful Day Cameo Card

Hello! Britt Bass here today to share a sweet little card with lots of die cutting and a few inking techniques.

Sweet Stamps manufactures many exceptionally good quality steel rule dies.  I have used three of the ones available to create the focal cameo and floral image on this card.

First I took a blank white piece of cardstock and stamped the Antique Leaf Scroll  border stamp with Versamark three times on the cardstock and embossed it using White Fine Detail embossing powder.  I used two colors of distress inks and applied them to the background with a ink blending tool.  The white embossed stamped image resisted the inking beautifully.

I took orange, white and green DCWV cardstock and cut using the Mini Flower die, the Cameo Lady die and the Fancy Leaf die. I also cut a label shape from a label die set from my stash.  I assembled the lady and the label together to create the cameo and assembled the flowers.  I used pearl paint to add pearls to the lady and pretty pearlized centers to the flowers and set both aside.

I used the Beautiful Day stamp to add a sentiment to the green strip of paper. (The original stamp says "Have a Beautiful Day" but I masked off the beginning of the phrase before I inked it in order to make it possible for me to use only the words I wanted to).  I added the sentiment, a piece of polka dot mesh and a ruffled ribbon to the bottom of the card.  I adhered my cameo, the flowers and the leaf die cuts onto the card and it was all done!!

Kraft - Autumn Greetings

The challenge this week is to use Kraft paper in you creation.  Play along in the challenge and link your card to the company blog for a chance to win a gift certificate to the online store.

Hi it's Roxie here today with a quick and easy card, I partially embossed the top panel, placed three rows of decorative tape and colored the die cut flowers and attached with tacky glue.

For a fast assembly of the flower I cut one in black and remove from die saving only the outline. Cut the second in white and do not remove the pieces from the die until after I place one sided sticky label paper larger enough to touch all the petals on the top and leaves on the bottom.  I then pull it out of the die and it's easy to remove the outline piece and replace with the black outline previously cut.  I color the white while the black is in place because it doesn't show but you could color before adding the outline if you want a lighter colored cardstock.

Supplies:
Copic markers: leaves - G29,28,24,21, blossom center - YR18,16,15,14, petals - RV29,25,23,21 with YR12 over all colors

Tape: Bella Blvd - gold dotted, Amy Tangerine - pink
Foam tape to pop up the panel

Paper: unknown Kraft, Beckett Expressions Radiance, Paper Hallow (local store) black
