Revisiting Egypt

I have loved each and every one of the images that are part of ching-chou kuiks fantasy art collection. The other day I went through and decided to play with some of the first ones released again. This is Egypt Mermaid. I loved being able to combine lace with a sparkle paper and have an image that could support it.

The allure of Egypt

I'd love to go to Egypt! There is something about that area of the world that draws me in. Maybe that is one reason this 'Egyptian image' is one of my favorites. This image is one of the Ching-Chou kuik designs and is available on Sweet Pea plate #22.
I stamped the image onto white card stock and then painted with Twinkling H2O's. I don't know if this shows very well in the scan of this card, but I applied some gold glitter glue to various areas of her dress and jewelry. After trimming the image into a rectangle I used a decorative corner punch on all 4 corners, and then edged the piece with a gold Krylon pen. I layered this onto a piece of gold embossed decorative card stock. I used a different decorative corner punch on this layer and also edged with gold Krylon pen. I placed the matted image onto a gold card and then threaded white and gold ribbon through a couple of slits I punched at the bottom of the card.

I had some multi-colored backgrounds laying around that I had made some time ago. I stamped the image onto the background with india black ink, cut the piece into a rectangular shape, and edged with a silver krylon pen.
I rummaged through my decorative card stock and found a piece that had colors that coordinated with the background and had a glittery gold embossed corner. Using an exacto knife I cut through part of the embossed corner, slid a corner of the stamped piece into it, and taped the rest of the image to the decorative card stock. Before attaching the matted piece onto the embossed purple card, I tore some blue mulberry paper pieces and attached them behind the matted piece. I edged the purple card with the silver krylon pen to complete the card.
You've gotta have this image!!! Chrissy

Egypt Mermaid

This beautiful mermaid comes from Plate #22 and is called Egypt Mermaid. I love her exotic look and fancy jewelry. I have also used this image and colored in the mid-drift part of the mermaid. It gives the image a totally different look. This image was colored using watercolor pencils with a blender pen. I double layered the image before mounting it on the card and added some flat black buttons as decor. I like how the tones in the image match the cardstock used. I guess to some it seems a little plain, but I sometimes like the image to be the eye-catching part of the card and the embellishments to take a back seat.

Have a great day all!

Fantasy Art Collection 3

These images are from the ching chou kuik Fantasy Art Collection sheet 3 - Plate #22. The images were stamped with black VersaColor ink, colored in with pencils and Copic Markers. The bases are mica card stock and the background papers are various pieces from my stash. Add a touch of bling with a Sakura Stardust pen, Queen and Co. rhinestones, ribbons, and Prima flowers finish them off.

I have been having so much FUN coloring this particular mermaid. I have more versions in varieties of colors around my house than I should admit to! However, I am especially pleased with the end result of this card. I'd love to see what you have made! Send your work to us to show off!
