Winter or Summer?

I don't know if you live in a place like I do, but here in South Texas, our weather is confused. It's been in the mid 70s and the tree in my front year finally just shed it's leaves this week thinking it was fall. On the opposite side, the tree across the street just started budding leaves thinking it is spring. So, here's a couple cards I have made in honor of the Texas weather, one for Summer by artist Elisabeth Bell, and the one for winter by artist ching chou kiuk.

So, lets start in Summer, as a real Texan (esp a south Texan) that is what you love. Winter is just something we accept here, and what most of you consider "winter" that's something we here in Texas could not live in. This wonderful stamp is called "Kiki with Dolly." She's a dolly herself, huh?

Now let's move to winter....we don't have much of a winter here. Temperature does drop down, lol. We don't own real coat, boots, ever see snow....And I must just laugh and say I have seen snow and been places on jobs and in college where it did snow and I don't care for it. This is a wonderful image from Sweet Pea artist ching chou kuik called Winter Watcher (plate #25.) This stamp is definitely an all time favorite from this artist.

Here's a close up of the Winter Watcher image

Be sure to check out the NEWEST stamps at the store. Sweet Pea has just released brand new images from ching-chou kiuk, as well as recent stamps from artist Elisabeth Bell and several other artist. There's also great specials right now.

Cheers, Holley

Winter Watcher

I don't know about all of you, but my get up and go kind of left with the holidays.  I don't have the desire to do anything I should do at all!  I DO, however, want to sit and watch movies and color images!!  Especially images drawn by ching-chou kuik like this one.

This lovely lady is Winter Watcher cut out from the background portion of the image.  She is available singly or on plate #25 with 3 other lovely ladies.

Have a fabulous and productive (at least as you want it to be!) week!

Poppy Love

Poppy Love is an image by ching-chou kuik and is part of Plate #25.  The mermaids, fairies and other lovelies in the ching-chou kuik collection are a joy to stamp, color and create with!  It is even more fun when the images and the paper pair as perfectly as Poppy Love does with this paper from Authentique.

Wanna Slushie?

Here's one of my favorite artists, Terra Bidlespacher. This stamp is called "Slushie" and comes on Plate #174. Isn't she great? This whole sheet of stamps is wonderful. I have a whole assortment of her stamps to play with and Sweet Pea just released several new sheets of her stamps that I can't wait to get my hands on.

I love her because her face just has some real attitude. I like a stamp with some real character in it. I added some great flowers from Prima decorated with skulls, some fun brads with skulls on them, beautiful ribbon that I got in Turkey and a wonderful stamped saying from Plate #25.

Sweet Pea Classics Part I

Hi everyone. I hope you're doing fine and enjoy summer.

Today I want to show you the first part of the Sweet Pea Classics series I created. Those are images which are some of my all time favourites. Those are images with which I fell in love from the first sight and still am in love with. And through them I got to know Sweet Pea Stamps a while ago. All those images are by the fabulous artist ching-chou kuik who's whole collection you can find HERE.

The first one is called 'Come Softly'. I coloured her with Distress Inks on 300 gram watercolour paper. I cannot say what designer papers I used as I had them left from other cards I made.

The second card I show you is made with 'One and Only Heart'. I coloured her as well with my Distress Inks on heavy 300 gram watercolour paper. The designer papers are from Marianne Design.

Well, soon I will show you two more Sweet Pea Classics. So watch out for my Part II who will be follow. Thank you so much for your visit. It is always so much appreciated.

Have a magical day!
Hugs, Karina

What was your favorite or first Sweet Pea Stamp that REALLY got you hooked?
It is easy enough to do after seeing all of the gorgeous stamps and the ones that are always being added!

So... thanks for popping in and I look forward to hearing which images started your addiction...

Butterfly dreams

I'm back with a card and this time I have used come softly as my image. I really love the soft look and feel of this beauty - like a wonderful dream...

It's a very recycled card as I have used small parts of plain paper and embellished them as much as I could instead of digging through my scrapbook papers.

I really like the soft shades, but how the image stands out more. It's like the papers are faded and the image is as clear as ever. Almost like those old photos - but reversed :D

Come Softly

This is my first time I post here. I still am so very excited that I got this wonderful chance being part of this wonderful team, creating for this fabulous stamp company Sweet Pea Stamps.

My first creation I want to show you is one of those lovely image of ching-chou kuik's Fantasy Art Collection. This image is called Come Softly, and you can find it on Plate 25, Sheet #5.

I coloured the image with distress ink pads, as I mostly do. I love those colours. They are so nice to play with. I decided for a spring colour combination of linden green and light blue. One of my fave colour combination at the moment. I've added some accents with yellow Stickles to the blond hair, the wings of the moth, and the white flowers as well.

Cardstock is from a local paper company, the DP is from the Basic Grey Lily Kate collection. I distressed the edges of the paper with a distressing tool. The image is cut by hand with a Fiskars Paper Edger. And the border die is from Magnolia.

The old lace I've found while a walk trough a flea market... I love them and always keep my eyes opened for such stuff. The white flowers are from Making Memories and the roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The callas I've found at a local craft shop. The little butterfly I cut from sheet of vellum, from this national paper company as well.

I hope you'll like my creation. Have a wonderful day and see you soon. Thank you for your visit and for your interest in those gorgeous stamps.

Winter Watcher...

I fell in love with this stamp as soon as I saw it many moons ago, I finally got the chance to get her inked up and onto a card.  Her name is Winter Watcher and is by Ching Chou Kuik's Fantasy Art Collection found at Sweet Pea Stamps.  She can be purchase as a single stamp or with 3 others and a sentiment.

I colored her with copics and then added stickles here and there.  I wanted my DP to look like the night sky and then I remembered I had this piece of iridescent paper for ages and thought it was perfect. I hung some jewels from one corner of my framed stamp and a few snowflakes and to finish it off some fringed ribbon.  I hope you like!

When I'm old I'll wear purple

Today's image is one of the older ones from ching-chou kuik called come softly from plate 25. I'm very excited about all the new releases, but sometimes the older stamps are forgotten and they are just as beautiful, don't you agree?

This time I came up with the idea of using a plain white background, but with embossing or some kind of pattern. The images from sweet pea are PERFECT for these kinds of cards. I love how they pop from the card and aren't overshadowed by papers, colours or embellishments. Just a perfect harmony. I'll definitely do more of these types of cards (if I can remember that, lol)

I started out by colouring the moth and the girl's skin. When it came to choosing colour for her hair I wanted to be wild and use something fantasy-like. Then I wanted the swirls to match nicely and before I knew it it turned out to be a purple/red image. I'm not that familiar with the meaning behind my title, but I know I've seen funny images of old ladies wearing red and purple.

Dream Deep

Hi fellow Sweet Pea Stampers!

I wanted to share another card created with ©Lisa Victoria's Dragon Luck from Plate 39. I just love this little guy. I can look at him and he just makes me smile!

One of the many aspects of all the wonderful, fabulous plates available at Sweet Pea Stamps, is the awesome sentiments or quotes that comes on each plate. I love quotes and love to mix different sentiments or quotes with different stamps from other plates which I did for my card today. I tend to stamp out each sentiment several times and then store them in a Ziploc baggie. This works out perfectly when I need a sentiment but am short on time.

The sentiment I used on today's card is from Plate 25 and worked perfectly for this card. My card actually came together rather quickly. Dragon Luck is colored with Copics, the dp is from My Minds Eye, the flower is from my scrap basket as was the Ladybug brad.

I hope this card brought a smile to your face, it certainly has cheered me up :-).

Pink Beauty

Here's a stunning image from Plate #25 of ching chou kiuk's fantasy art collection. She's called Come Softly. She is so beautiful and would look wonderful in almost any color combination.

This card uses a mica card base which is a beautiful shimmery cardstock. It shines in the light and is just a beautiful background for this stamp. I had decided to color her mostly pink so I selected an assortment of simple pink embellishments to go with the image: prima flowers, basic grey brads, Queens&Co pearls, pink ribbon, and some purple skittles. The image was colored with copic markers and mounted using pop dots to give extra dimension.

Cheers, Holley

This is the image named Fly Butterfly from the ching-chou kuik's Fantasy Art Collection. The sentiment is from Plate #25. I really love the sentiments that are on each of these different plates and how well the work with all of the different images or even just on their own.

I hope you are all sending in your creations for our customer challenges. I know that customer week is my FAVORITE one each month. I love seeing what you all create with the Sweet Pea Stamps!
