Mood Garden

This image is called Moon Garden, part of plate #124, and is drawn by ching-chou kuik for Sweet Pea Stamps.  I have paired her with some Basic Grey paper and decided she looks wonderful in blue and as a redhead.  How would you color her?

Dream of FairyTales

Hey everyone.  Today I have some older cards to share with you that I have had done of months and just keep forgetting to share them with you.  For this first card I used ching chou kuik's The Seahorse.  She is available on a single half sheet with a sentiment.

I used Moon Garden by ching chou kuiks and she can be purchased as a single or on sheet #32, Plate #124, with 3 other beautiful images.

For this one I used an image by Karen Middleton called Autumn Fairie.  She can be purchased as a single or on  sheet #4, Plate #115, with 3 other adorable images. The original artwork by Karen shows that she is a little girl, but when I looked at it I saw a little boy.  It was fun to color a little boy fairy for once.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you have a wonderful day.

Mirror Mirror

Hi Sweet Pea friends out there. I was working on something special the last few weeks. And finally today I can show you. I wanted for once making a bigger project than a card had the idea to decorate one of those simple mirrors available at the big Swedish furniture mart. I saw this a while ago when I visited friends. They have such a mirror in their apartment, with a painting on it. I loved it and knew I have to create something like this as well. So here it is:

I painted the wide wooden frame with acrylic pain, a mix of purple, blue and green.

To decorate the mirror I chose two of the amazing images from the ching-chou kuik's Fantasy Art Collection. The first one is Nocturnal Spirit.

Both are on the same plate # 124, but are available as single stamps as well. I coloured them with Distress Inks on heavy watercolour paper and glued them to the frame.

Then I added some more effects to the frame; I punched some stars out and layed them to the frame. I painted some white fabric paint over them, let it dry and surrounded them with stickles for a lovely shine. I added more fabric paint to the images and added some flowers and beads as well. To finish off I glued some cord around the inside of the mirror and as a hanger.

The saying with the lovely celtic border is a cut out from a sheet of paper from the 'once upon a time' stack by DCWV... love it!

Well, I hope you like what I made and perhaps you feel inspired to make your own mirror. If so let me know, I would LOVE to see.

Thank you so much for your visit. Always so much appreciated.

Hugs, Karina

Live Laugh and Love!

Here's a wonderful Sweet Pea image from artist ching-chou kiuk. This lady is called Moon Garden and she is sold separately or on Plate #124. I love her mystical look as she is staring off and lost in thought. It makes this wonderful saying match her so well."Don't walk in front of me, I may not follow; Don't walk behind me, I may not lead; Walk beside me and just be my friend." (Plate #121); I used a wonderful printed sheet of black and white paper to add a little more "noise" to the background of the card. The punch on the left is from Martha Stewart. The beautiful vertical saying comes from the Vertical sayings sheet (Plate #4).

Hope you will have Live, Laugh, and Love today! Also, I am having blog candy this week of wonderful Sweet Pea stamps celebrating over 100,000 hits on my personal blog, so be sure to stop by there and leave a comment on my personal blog for a chance to win some Sweet Pea stamps!! Moon Fairy

This is another of the images on Plate #124 by ching chou kuiks Fantasy Art Collection.  The sentiment is from a different plate.  I used all Basic Grey papers and just enjoyed the process!!  The colors, papers and pearls just all seem to compliment Moon Fairy perfectly.
