Dream of Dahlia

This week I've been working again with a digi stamp from one of my favourite Sweet Pea Stamps artists - the amazingly talented Ching Chou Kuik. The image I've chosen to create with this week is called Dream of Dahlia:
I coloured the image with Promarkers and carefully cut it out:
I went with a vintage, shabby chic feel for my card with vintage lace patterned paper and distressed and stitched edges:
I layered my cut-out image over a large paper blossom and added some vintage-style ephemera, some die-cut foliage and a couple of filigree metal charms:
This beautiful stamp is available in both digi and red rubber format from the Sweet Pea Stamps store.

Dream of Dahlia

I hope everyone is having a great and creative week. Mine has been very relaxing, except for the power outages. I am thrilled that ours came back on within eight hours. In Tulsa, alone, we had over 100,000 homes affected by the severe thunderstorm that swept through Oklahoma. Other than the rain, lightening, and thunder, we had up to 80 mph winds.

On to my inspiration piece…I chose an image from ching-chow kuik titled “Dream of Dahlia.” I colored her with Copics and they trimmed her with Spellbinder’s Opulent Ovals. I distressed the edges with Forest Moss Distress Ink and mounted her on another die cut of the Opulent Ovals. She is available as a digital image or in red rubber, whichever you prefer.

Copics used:
Hair: E51, E53,, E55
Skin: E000, E11 R20
Leaves: G82, G85, G99
Dahlias: RV63, RV66, RV69, RV91

My designer paper is from Heartfelt Creations Burst of Splendor collection. The next Spellbinder’s die is the Classic Leaf. After I cut out the leaves, I used Viva Décor 3-D paint in Moss green.

Thanks for stopping by. Check back here every day for more inspiration from Sweet Pea Stamps’ design team.

Dream of Dahlia

Hello everyone.
I am so glad you could join me today.
I have a little gift project to share with you all today.

I have a lot of family interstate who miss out on seeing my girls grow up, and all of their little award ceremonies and recitals. So sometimes I do up a CD/DVD to capture these memories and send it to my loved ones so that they don't miss out on all the action.
This time, I thought I would make a CD Gift Card to make it that little bit more special.
That gorgeous stamp is ching-chou kuik's Dream of Dahlia.
Here is a photo of the inside of the card
And finally a photo of the CD/DVD safely housed in its little pocket.
So fill a DVD with home movies or photos and send it to your loved one's interstate.  It won't be as good as them being there, but it will bring them one step closer.
And with Christmas just around the corner what could be a quicker and easier gift.

Thank you so much for joining me today.
Hugs
Renee

I love working with fall colors. They are so beautiful and rich. Dream of Dahlia was perfect for this color combination. I wanted to try a hidden sentiment tag too...much easier than I expected and I think it added something new and different to my project! I
