All of
this week over at Sweet Pea Stamps it is "Variations Week"
where a specific artist is picked and the whole Design Team using the same
image/selection of images.
For November the image chosen for us to be used is by Regan Kubecek and is called “Thanksgiving Harvest”. This image is available as a digital stamp and a single rubber stamp.
I have coloured the image
in with my Promarkers and some Graph’it pens (as I haven’t got a mix of all
colours get for Graph’it pens). I used a
chalk ink pad around the image.
I’ve tried to take the
photograph at an upwards angle to show that I have decoupaged the image up (it
was the only way I could get it to show).
Decoupage was the first area I tried in cardmaking when I first started
and I still like it and enjoy doing this technique with stamped images. Yes I know it means colouring the edges of
the bottom image as extra (because as the middle won’t show you don’t need to
do that bit) but I think it is worth it.
I have then used a Tim
Holtz leaf die and cut three different shaped leaves out of a book. I then used Tim Holtz’s Spiced Marmalade,
Mustard Seed and Crushed Olive distress inks and my Inkylicious brushes to
colour the leaves. The backing papers
are from my stash. I have finished the
card off with an array of buttons and some twine.

Here are
some other Sweet Pea Stamps cards/creations I have to share with you this week.
There are times when
we need sympathy/thinking of you cards. I personally like to keep these
kind of cards very clean and simple as I want the image and words to do the
talking and I don't think it's the right time for lots of embellishments.
For my card I have
used the Sweet Pea Stamps image called "Despair". She is
available as a digital stamp, single rubber stamp and as a multi-image plate (Sheet #7, Plate
205 - this image Despair comes on the plate with Broken Halo, Hope and To Bid
you Farewell).
I have coloured the
image in with my Promarkers/Flexmarkers and kept it to very neutral colours.
The backing paper I was given so don't know the source. I have
finished the card off with some ribbon, stamped sentiment, two flowers and
pearls.

This
is a card that I have made using a Sweet Pea Stamps image by Conie Fong.
It is called "Flowers on the Beach" and is available as a rubber stamp as well as
a digital stamp.
Isn't
she a cutie? I have coloured the image in with my Promarkers/Flexmarkers
and highlighted areas with my white gel pen and Stickles glitter glue. I
have used a handmade cloud mask and used my blue Pan Pastel and fine tool to
add some clouds.
The backing papers I
have used are Bearly Mine Designs
The Boys Zone and Bearly Mine Designs
Just Plaids.
I have finished the card off with a sentiment off the computer, gold
card candi, gingham ribbon and handmade shells (these have been made with a
silicone mould, tissue paper and Pan Pastels).
