Angelique Presents Sunflower Sprite by Mitzi Sato-Wiuff

Good morning,
I am back and have my first segment ready.
This "junk journal" will be my coloring / swatch book.
Every segment will at least have 8 dubbel folded adult coloring pages (cut to size)
8 double folded print paper (cut to size)
and a cover made from craft paper
Because I've attached the segment with cord to the cover, I can easily add some extra's.
This can be extra pages, paper bags, envelopes, cards etc.

This is the center of my first segment.
I used a cheap adult coloring book.
It has(had) 162 coloring pages and the pages are of good quality and printed double sided.
I cut them to the right size and folded them in half.
Stacked them with the heavy white printer paper, by takin 1 of each in turns.
Do keep in mind that if you use copics or any other markers, they might bleed through the paper.
So if you're goin to use markers, use single sided adult pages and glue something on the back, like a blanc page, a pocket, standin envelope, lined page, just anything to cover up the bleeding
As I'll be using color pencils, I do not have to worry about that.

So if you look somewhere random in the segment, you'll have either a coloring page on the left with a blanc page on the right or as seen on the photo above, vice versa.

For the cover of my first segment, I used the adorable Sunflower Sprite rubber stamp by Mitzi Sato-Wiuff.
Colored with Albrecht Durer water color pencils.
You can find the Sunflower Sprite in the shop HERE and more of Mitzi Sato-Wiuff's rubber stamps HERE

and here is what the first segment looks like on it's place in the cover

We have a very nice and friendly group on facebook and we would love to see your make with any of the Sweet Pea Stamps.

I hope you enjoyed my project
See you again next week

Angelique Presents Spiderwort Sprite by Mitzi Sato-Wiuff

http://www.sweetpeastamps.com/mitzi-sato-wiuff/mitzi-sato-wiuffs-spiderwort-sprite

Good morning,
I'm finaly back. I've been on a trip to Wales and absolutely LOVED every moment of it.
It's so beautiful there.
During my time there, I visited Powis Castle, it's a gorgeous castle with beautiful gardens.
Filled with flowers, plants and apple trees.
We walked for hours, made loads of photo's and enjoyed it to the fullest.
This cute Spiderwort Sprite by Mitzi Sato-Wiuff, reminded me of that gorgeous day so I figured she would fit perfectly in the journal I'm workin on.
She's available as rubber stamp and oh my, she's such a joy to colour!
You can find her in the shop HERE and more of Mitzi's rubber stamps HERE

Still workin on the cover, so I've placed her on the inside of the back.

As I'm a bit lazy and like to take the easy roads ;) I've decided to not use any needles and threads for my segments, but just some jute cord.
First things first, I had to decide on the number of segments and figured 4 would be enough.
I took the cord and placed that on the spine, goin around it 4 times, so I can place 4 segments.

I started en ended on the outside and left some extra cord

This way, if I ever change my mind, I can always do another loop so I can do an extra segment.
You could also add some embelisments when finishing the journal, like some beads or a charm

We have a very nice and friendly group on facebook and we would love to see your make with any of the Sweet Pea Stamps.

I hope you enjoyed my project
Next week I'll show you the first segment
See you again next week

Angelique Presents Feeling Fabulous by Conie Fong

Good morning everyone, Angelique here again and to follow last weeks post, I'm goin  to show you the inside of my Sweet Pea Stamps junk journal cover.

I've used different designer papers to cover the inside
Unfortunately I deleted the progress photo's by mistake.
In the center Ive placed a piece of chipboard and covered that with the design paper.
I've done that because I'm lazy and I do not like to sew, so my pages will be kept in place by elastic bands and I do not want the cover to bend under the pressure of the elastic bands.

I printed Feeling Fabulous by Ching Chou Kuik on tracing paper and fuzzy cut it
Why tracing paper?
I wanted to give it a bit of a "junk" look.
It's not easy to see on the photo's but because of the tracing paper, you can see the design paper through the colored image

I've colored her with various brands of color pencils.
Because I didnt want the colors to start "bleeding" when using my medium to glue the image I used a fixative
You can find Feeling Fabulous in the Sweet Pea Stamps shop HERE

For more of these adorable images by Conie Fong please visit the store HERE for digi stamps
and HERE for rubber stamps

Angelique Presents Dragonflies by Ching Chou Kuik

Good morning everyone.
I started workin on a Sweet Pea Stamps junk journal and will be showing you the progress of that over the next few weeks.

We start with the cover
I've used an old book that had torn pages.

I took all the pages out
And covered the outside with gesso
When the gesso was dry,  I used my blue dylusions paint

Jumped in my folder with stencils and picked a few
On the next photo I used Inka Gold with 2 stencils
One I bought the other one I made myself

Here I've used my orange and yellow dylusions paints again with two more stencils
For the text stencil, I used a bit of the yellow dylusions paint and mixed that with my structure paste

When al de layers dried, I took my coloured image and placed that on the cover

For the cover I used this awesome image by Ching Chou Kuik and it's called Dragonflies
You can find the image HERE

For more beautiful images by Ching Chou Kuik please visit the store HERE for digi stamps
and HERE for rubber stamps
