Featured Artist Week: Rachel Anderson

It was very hard for me to pick an image because I love so many of her images.  I finally decided to use Amanita Muscaria because of the mushrooms and the pose of the fairy.  I colored her with copics.
The background paper is from My minds eye.
The flowers are from Prima and the saying is on a spellbinders die.
Here's a close up
Thanks so much for your comments. They mean a lot to me.
Love, Viola

Featured Artist Week : Rachel Anderson

It's Featured Artist Week again and this month the Design Team are showcasing the stunning artwork of Rachel Anderson. I chose to work this this beautiful stamp called Amanita Muscaria:
I'm going through a bit of a minimalist, CAS phase at the moment and I think the clean and simple style works well with this pretty framed image. I coloured the image using Prismacolor pencils and added highlights to the white dots on the mushrooms using a white gel pen:
I kept my card really simple, matting white card onto black card for a border and layering a die-cut flourish behind the image. It would be easy to add a simple stamped sentiment to this card for whatever occasion I might choose.

Rachel's beautiful stamps are available in both digi and red rubber format from the Sweet Pea Stamps store and will be on special offer for this week only. :)

Amanita Muscaria

I have had this Rachel Anderson image in my collection for a little while, and I am so delighted that I have finally gotten around to colouring her.
The image is called Amanita Muscaria.

I had initially intended to make this more of a bold card with strong colours.
It is funny how you can end up with a card completely different to what you had originally imagined.  Sometimes these are the cards we love the most as well.

This gorgeous image can be purchased on her own, or along with three other equally stunning images on Rachel Anderson's sheet #2, plate # 111.

Thank you so much for joining me today.
Hugs Renee

If I Were A Fairy... I Would Have Purple Wings!

But... the best part about stamping is that YOU can have any color wings YOU would like! Just color them any color you want! I LOVE creativity!I colored this gorgeous Amanita Muscaria From Rachel Anderson in one of my favorite color combos... Purple and red! I made the flowers myself from card stock and they are so simple to do! I stamped the image in Stazon on watercolor paper and then i water colored her in...I love the soft look of her skirt! You can find this gorgeous image on   sheet #2, plate 111.

Amanita Muscaria and Summer Fun

Hi everyone. I am back with another card to share with you. For this card I used
Rachel Anderson's "Amanita Muscaria" at Sweet Pea Stamps. She can be purchased as a single or on sheet #2 Plate #111, with 3 other gorgeous fairies.

As soon as I went through my paper and found this Ambrosia DP by Basic Grey, I knew what colors I wanted to use on her. I love the vibrant and radiant feel of this card.

Her skin is a little darker in real life and not as washed out as the pictures show.

I added a lot of layers and dimension to this card.

Here are the supplies I used
Stamp: Rachel Anderson's Amanita Muscaria at Sweet Pea Stamps Sheet #2/ Plate #111
Paper: Basic Grey Ambrosia, black and red CS
Image was stamped on Mohawk Color Copy Brilliant white 100lb Cover CS
Ink: Memento Tuxedo
Accessories: Acetate frame trimmed on bronze (behind the image)
Spellbinder Border Die
Quickuts die
flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts
Orange self adhesive bling
Foam tape for dimension
White Sakura Gel pen
Image colored with copics

Here is another card I created last week. This image is Summer Fun by Caron Vinson at Sweet Pea Stamps. She can be bought as a single or on a sheet with 3 other adorable fairies Sheet #2 / Plate #89.
I used some DCWV DP, jewelry making shells and beads, Fiskars tear drops, spellbinder oval and flower dies, Wild Orchid Crafts flowers, fiskars border punch, chalk on background, glitter glue and glitter.

The image was colored with copics.

Check out Sweet Pea stamps and see what's new, so many new stamps to add to your wish list.
