A Grateful Heart ... free fall design

Well we are on countdown week till Thanksgiving ... 

I can't believe Thanksgiving is already here .. it just seems a short while back I was watching fireworks shooting into the night sky and bursting into beautiful color..

And..

Here we are but a few months later and the weather has cooled and the leaves have changed to beautiful fall colors and many have drifted on the fall breeze to the earth below preparing for a long winters nap... 

Well we're not quite to winter yet .. although I hear some of you in the higher elevations of the west and the east coast may have a beautiful blanket of white headed your way pretty soon. 

I personally think I would really enjoy a white Thanksgiving this year .. although  I don't think there's any chance of that happening .. we are having an unusually warm fall here in the Ozarks .. I think today and tomorrow we are looking at breaking records today was 78 degrees here ! Looks like that's about to change Saturday much cooler temps are on the way Hooray !

Well now that we've talked of the weather...

I wanted to offer up a sweet little Thanksgiving Design I created this week. Please feel free to use it for your personal use. Print it out and make a cute poster .. or make some charming ornaments .. whatever you would like or just share on your blog or pinterest page whatever makes your heart happy...

And lets not forget to "Give Thanks with a Grateful Heart ..."

"Give thanks with a Grateful Heart"  ..is one of my favorite sayings I guess that's because it refers to so many scriptures in the Bible .. and a favorite praise song of mine that we sang in church..

Psalm 100:4, ESV Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!

Psalm 107:1, ESV Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!

 And these are the lyrics to the praise song I loved singing so very much ..

So do you all have any fun Thanksgiving traditions ... ? One of my family members who has hosted Thanksgiving has a wonderful tradition. They purchased a basic tablecloth many years ago .. and each Thanksgiving whomever is at their table signs the cloth with something they are thankful for as well they have traced the hands of the kids on the tablecloth too. What a fun memory for the kids to look back on .. and to see what they were thankful for and how the size of their hand has grown throughout the years. Traditions are a beautiful thing no matter if you are just on your own or there is 2 or 3 or a dozen gathered for Thanksgiving . My parents and I celebrate Thanksgiving each year just the 3 of us ..by having our traditional favorite Thanksgiving foods .. and then we at some point in the evening sit and go through the Samaritan's Purse Gift Catalog and choose gifts for families in need.  To me that's the best part of Thanksgiving ..  knowing we are able to be bring joy to someone else that they too might take part in having a grateful heart.

 

 

I am so very grateful for all the Lord has done for me ..  It's always easy to be thankful in the good times .. but much harder to be thankful in the tough times .. but from experience I have learned I will thank him and praise him all the time ..

Giving Thanks

Happy Thanksgiving You All !

 

Well it's a beautiful Cool Crisp Sunny Morning here.

 

The rays of the sun are peeking in the windows ... the birds are flitting and chirping around their feeder, I imagine they are thankful for all the fresh seed we put out this week.

 

Flossie and I are cuddled up under our blanket in our chair ..

 

Abbey's snug in her blanket enjoying the morning on pinterest and

 

dad's dressed and read to say hello to the world this morning .. he's the early bird that always gets the worm ..

 

 

 

 

It's been another Good Year ... it's had it's ups and it's downs just like all the years that have passed and once again the Good Lord got us through .. with all the pain there was joy .. and I am so Thankful !

 

I am grateful for the home we have that provides us shelter and luxuries such as running water and hot showers and a stove and oven to prepare our food.

 

I am grateful for the soft bed I have and warm blankets to have a good nights' sleep.

 

I am grateful for the cupboards that are full of food the refrigerator that stores what will be a lovely Thanksgiving Dinner Today ...

 

And I am Grateful for my Family.

 

Mom .. she's always there when you need her .. she's the rock .

 

Dad he's a helper always there when you ask ..

 

Flossie she's a cuddler always there to love ...

 

Today I thank God for my many blessings ..

 

Friends that are near and dear

 

and

 

I thank him for you ..

 

Yes you,

 

you are a blessing from God,

 

and I'm glad he sent you my way.

 

May your Thanksgiving be ever so Blessed.

 

May it be full of Peace and Joy and Goodness.

I thought it would be so much fun to share all of these with you for your Thanksgiving Dinners

Vintage Thanksgiving Postcard ~ Sweet Magnolias Farm Free Clip Art and Printables

Hey You all .. Well it's been well over a week since I last posted .. This last week has been super busy getting the business ready for Christmas .. It's always strange for me to be designing and making Christmas in 100 degree heat .. It was like I needed a snow machine and to turn the AC on high so I could put on a sweater and pretend it was cold out..LOL !

 

 

I wanted to start today out with this Beautiful Thanksgiving Postcard from the early 1900's .. I love these old style cards with the glitter on them ..

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This would be such a beautiful piece turned into a small plaque .. if you don't have the tools to cut wood ..you can buy premade plaques at your local craft store ( michaels, jo anns and hobby lobby) Even Home Depot has a section of precut wood pieces. 

 

Simply Print this out to the size you would like .. then Use Modge Podge  to apply.  Add the Modge Podge directly to the wood . then lay your print on top and smooth it out gently with your hand making sure it applies evenly so there are no bubbles. Wait for it to Dry. Then coat the top with Modge Podge .... Drill a couple holes in the top corners and add your hanger ( ribbon, twine, wire etc) Or if you aren't handy with the drill Use Ribbon or Twine and hot glue the ends to each top corner on the back.   Then add some glitter to the front.. and you have a lovely Fall Plaque to enjoy that's been Made by You.

Looks like our first day of lower temps starts tomorrow and I hope I lasts .. because I'm sure achin' for some chilly nights and cool windy fall days.

 

I'm ready to put my feet up and start the fireplace roaring .. ready for some hot chocolate and toast .. ready to wear my flannel pjs and slippers, ready to pull out my scarves .. Well gosh I'm just ready for Fall !

 

 

Abbey and I somehow managed to get 3 more of our Farmhouse pumpkins completed .. so I just wanted to pop in and say Hey and let you all know if you missed out on a pumpkin recently ..here's a few more to choose from ..

 

Each of these are made from vintage feedsack and hand-dyed to a beautiful verigated  pumpkiny~yam color .. Yummy   !

They are wonderfully filled with sawdust .. so unlike polyfill they won't lose their shape or end up with an odd shape after being packed away .... You just give em' a hug and a squeeze if they need plumping ..  Plus they just feel wonderful with our special sawdust filling .. !

Happy Thanksgiving ~ Giving Thanks for Gods Abundant Blessings

 

Another Thanksgiving ~ Another Year to be Thankful for the Blessings in our Lives.

 

 

 

No matter what road you have traveled this year .. no matter what the journey, be it filled with Joy or filled with sorrow "Give Thanks"

 

This Year has been full for us here at Sweet Magnolias Farm. It's been a year filled with both Joy and Sorrow. If you truly live life to the fullest you cannot escape the overflowing Joy and Happiness it can posess ..Nor can you escape the deep and certain sorrow's that will make their way throughout your journey of life either.

 

Both the Good and the Bad are part of living. Life is like the vows of a marriage

 " For Better or Worse".

 

But the beauty of both is that you can "Give Thanks" in both.

 

Today as I do each day of my life .. I once again Give Thanks for each thing that has come my way thus far this year.

 

From The Love of my Family ... the Joy of Friends ... the sweet unconditional Love of our Sweet Flossie ... A place to call home ... The warmth of a bed .. the comfort of a full stomach... the luxury of transportation ... good health ...Blessings of our Business Growing and so much more... to the Sorrows of a critically ill family member ... the deep concern of my Dad's health ... and other personal sorrows ....

 

I give thanks for them All !

 

Each one transforms my life .. each one helps me to be more thankful, more understanding, more compassionate, more giving, more loving, more of everything that is good and truly isn't that what we all would like to be more of everything that is good.

We are so Thankful for so many things everyday ...Most nights before my eyes close ...I am always telling the Lord how thankful I am for a roof over my head, for the food in our cupboards, for good health, for family that loves and cares for me, for two smiling pups that make my heart happy, and of course most of all for my dear Lord and Saviour ..and I know Abbey feels the same way.

As hard as times are for so many right now ..I am Thankful for the place in which we are at. Knowing that God will provide for us our needs ...he tells us ...how important we are .."that he provides for the birds of the air and if he provides for them ..then how much more important are we that he shall provide for us." I know that too be true first hand. I have seen his might hand at work ..from the time I was a wee girl ..and To him goes the Thanks and the Glory.

We are Thankful ...for our gifts he has bestowed on us ..the Gift to create ...to see things in new and wonderful ways ... to be able to share that with all of our friends and aquanitances and to a world of souls we don't even know.

We are BLESSED !
