Countdown To Thanksgiving are you READY ? Fall at Sugar Pie Farmhouse

 

 

Well the splendor of Fall has arrived .. ...

 

The Trees are turning to beautiful vibrant fall colors

 

 We used to live in the Ozarks of MO .... and this picture so very much reminded me of the beauty that the Ozarks offer. My Body left there but my heart stayed .. there is a splendor and a peace that I have never found anywhere I have been but in the beautiful Missouri Ozarks ..

 

 

The Air is turning crisp  .. the mornings dewy and  there's a lovely crisp fall breeze that bites at your nose.. the kind that makes you want to wrap up in your soft fall coat .. throw on a scarf that you can bury your nose in .. it's the kind of weather that I love .. especially when I lived in the Ozarks.

 

 

Then we had a lovely farm .. the house set atop a little hill .. and overlooked a large expanse of hay fields .. it had a raised front porch that was 40 feet long, the length of the front of the house .. and we lined it with old antique rockers we picked up at antique shops.  We found old wood troughs throughout the property and we drug them up to the house and used them as planters on the porch ..filling them with beautiful flowers for the seasons.

 

 

The Fall Nights were lovely spent on the front porch .. the citronella candle lanterns lined the porch railing .. while we bundled up in our blankets and just rocked  in the beautiful quiet of our country home. Some Nights we enjoyed the quiet and would speak a word or two ..but mainly we sat in silence drinking in the beauty of the serene quiet where only the sounds of nature could pierce the quiet countryside. Other nights we would bring out an old book.. and take turns reading it .. I remember one such book we enjoyed on that front porch was " The Story Girl" ... ah sweet memories ..

 

Life is definitely about making memories ... I can look back and say that I have good memories in my life .. oh there are bad ones too ..I won't fool you in to thinking any different .. but I love to remember the good ones .. to let them gather in my mind like a good seasoned pot of vegetable soup and to let them simmer throughout the day and enjoy the memories that I have of beautiful moments in my life.

 

 

Holidays are definitely about making memories ,... I'm certain we all have good and some not so good memories involving Holidays .. The important thing is we can make our Holidays into great memories be it if your single and a party of One or a Small family on their own ..or a great gathering of friends and family. We can take the initiative and make our holiday and house a home with beautiful lasting memories for ourselves and others.

And how to set a Festive Fall table without breaking the bank ..yet it's absolutely darling .. I have to admit I love this table idea and my head started spinning with all sorts of spin off ideas ..LOL!

Giveaway at Sugar Pie Farmhouse And Valentines Day Already !!!

Well we all must admit we love the word "FREE" ..and the word "GIVEAWAY" right behind it....

 

Anything in life anymore in the everyday world that says "Free" usually always has a catch or strings attatched to it and that's such a sad thing.

And it's hard to believe but in just a little over a month .. we once again Embark on another of our holidays "Valentines Day" ... Seriously ..it's already here and yes I started being asked about Valentines Towels just a few days after Christmas ... You girls are so on it !

 

Well I was a bit ahead of you this year and already had my Valentines designs ready before Christmas ..Yep I was on it this year ..LOL ! Actually truth is several of the shops that I design for were giving me dates they needed there Valentines by ..so I had to be ahead of the game .. I cannot tell you as a designer how odd it is to be listening to Christmas Music ..and thinking of Snow and Hot Cocoa ..and being in the mood to design Valentines images. At that time it seemed like so long off ..however it came much quicker than I anticipated and a little heart ache (no pun intended) came with it too.

 

Here I was ahead of the game this year with all my designs and ready to get all my offerings out there to everyone in record time ..and literally the day I had just finished my last design for all my new offerings .. I clicked the on button on my computer to bring it out of it's sleep mode and the thing lit up like a Christmas tree ..and that was it ..couldn't get it to do anything .. Well rather than going into a long story about all of it... the end result the Hard Drive went out on a 1 yr old computer and everything was "GONE" ... yep ..all that design work down the tubes ! ...My heart was so sick ... I spend many hours putting together designs and all the work I had just put in for over a week gone .. I hadn't yet saved it all to my memory stick .. which was completely my fault ..and lets just say "Lesson Learned."

 

Now I have learned over the years stressing out immediately is Normal .. I allow myself that momentary "Oh My Gosh" ...."Now What" moment and the frenzy of trying to fix it all in 10 seconds flat which I know is not going to happen ..but my brain always convinces me it's possible so I try and then realize ..who's hands I need to put it all into and that I just need to stop and pray even if it is a quick "Lord Please Help."   And I always try and look at the bright side .. I am blessed to have the ability to do the work over .. I am blessed that my computer was warrantied and it's being repaired for free.. I am blessed that I was able to purchase another computer in the meantime and I am blessed that I had all my other work saved and didn't lose everything ! and I am blessed to now own an external Hard drive where I can store all my work in  a secondary location ...

 

There's a lot to be thankful for when I  look at the big picture.

 

So with that experience behind me I began work once again .. and I'm pretty much caught up ..

 

I just listed my 3 new Valentine designs in our Etsy Shop this week ... As many of you know and have shared with me these make wonderful gifts.. A great way to show your "Love" ...and they also add a whole lot of Farmhouse Charm to your own Home Sweet Kitchens ..

Sweet Magnolias Farm's ...New Farmhouse Flour Sack Towels just in to the shop..

I'm sneeking in for a minute .. to let you all know that we have listed Our newest 2012 Farmhouse Flour Sack Towel Designs in our Shop .. HERE

We Sold out of these at our Recent Marketplace and I finally have been able to get them listed in our online shop for those who don't live nearby .

 Our "I love you Like Biscuits and Gravy" is definitely the Off the Charts best seller .and I have to admit it's one of my Favorites since I'm a biscuits and Gravy Lovin Gal ... I could eat them just about every morning with a big scrambled egg and some  good Maple bacon .. But alas I do hold back and only have them ever so often ..

  If you too Love  this Towel ... This is the first one in our new Line of  " I Love You Like" .. towels .. There will be more coming in the weeks ahead .. and here's a hint ..one's pretty sticky !

 And I may not be southern ... but I shoulda been southern .. Somehow I didn't land in the right spot .. Because I love all the Southern Sayins ..and boy get me around some southern Gals and my drawl kicks in like nobodies business ...

 I Love our new "Farm Fresh" Truck .. this one just reminds me of the Farmers Market .. I can see pullin up in my old truck ..filled with Farm Fresh Goodness from the Garden ...

And ... of course a Girls gotta have her some Sweet Tea ..and a Whole lotta Jesus .. !!! .. Cause that's a combination that's out of this world ...
