Making birthday cards again and came across Theme Thursday challenge with this week's theme being dance/music so used inspiration from this for this card. I used TH's music mask over K&Co. pp, stamped the word Dance from an Inky Antics stamp and the swirly music is Inkadinkado. I stamped the Stampington dancer on plain paper and added just a little colouring.

Tiles Project

It's Deb's turn for twinchie tiles in our forum's ongoing collaborative project and her colour choice is tropical sea tones. When I was thinking about what to do for these I couldn't get any ideas for a theme other than sea related since her colour choice was sea tones, so was definitely inspired to go with this when I saw Joanne's fab tiles. Each time it's interesting to see what subject theme everyone has come up with as well as how the chosen colours have been used - despite the differences they always - well so far - have seemed to blend well together. Hope Deb likes them!

Playing with Collections Elements again with a little stamping using Limited Editions 'A Photo' and Heindesign 'Barbara' stamps (love this little circular dotty stamp) and a Paper Whimsy image, oh and a bit of stitching. I keep having a go with stitching but not always happy with how the tension works out and I think the sewing machine knows I'm a novice with paper/card stitching! The chipboard bracket frame came out really nicely - I'd painted it with black Distress crackle paint and sprayed with gold Glimmer mist but the effect only shows a little on the pic when enlarged.

Backgrounds to these cards were made using the new Ranger alcohol ink Brights set, Scenic, with overstamping in Memories sepia and - not very noticeably - Ancient Page jade - which maybe just shows up on the house shaped card (in the form of dotty circles). I'd been playing with these inks and a set of Lights - Lakeshore - and done a few try outs.

I was quite happy with the way my first background piece turned out - first time too - before any further titivation - which is also a 1st I think! - and so used this on forum friend Jo's birthday card. The only idea I'd had was that I wanted to do a house shape and use some metal, so did the 'roof' with 'Cuttlebugged' metal and used Aqua AI on the sanded areas where I'd removed the black colour from the metal.

The square card needed to be done real quick - which I just don't do - when I remembered I needed a card to be in the post today. I used another AI background but wasn't as happy with this - the sepia ink came up very bright brown - can you have bright brown? - and so I threw - well sprayed - some gold glimmer mist at it - which doesn't show in the pic anyway - but I was happier with it. When I try to do quick my fingers become very clumsy and things go wrong, but it wasn't a bad attempt - about 3/4 of an hour - I'd never manage a 'Take Ten'!!

Tiles project

Our forum's twinchie tiles project continues and this month they're for Joanne who chose cream and sepia with black accents for her colour theme. The middle tile seems to be quite out of focus - this could be because the little key affects the way it lies in the scanner and prevents it from being flat.

Dabbling with distress inks and christening a stamp which I've had ages but not used.
