Queen D shawl :-)

This year I designed and knitted 4 shawls for some friends who have been kind to me over the years. Queen V was the first design in the series of #shawlsforfriends and I gifted the original shawl to my friend Victoria. This one is for me :-) In the spirit of the design name I called my project QueenD. You can find the project on Ravelry:
https://www.ravelry.com/projects/deenulya/queen-v-2
The shawl will be on display at @apricotyarn. Stop by to see it in person and grab some Sulka Nina by Mirasol Yarn. The shawl knitted in colorway Duck Egg and takes 4 skeins.
Queen V is an elegant shawl that features a combination of clean lines, leaf silhouettes with little nupps and a garter stitch border. The shawl is knitted bottom-up with the border done simultaneously with the body.

New Shawl Pattern: Fire Spirit.

I am excited to introduce to you my fourth and final (for now) design in the series of Shawls for Friends. Fire Spirit pattern can be found on Ravelry:
https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/fire-spirit
Introductory 50% off until Thursday 11 pm PST.

I designed this shawl for my friend Elena.  She is a wonderful friend I have known for about 20 years. She is very sincere, kind and, unlike most people, she does not afraid to give you a complement, say a kind word and just make you feel better. I feel that she has an inner radar that make her sense when people need a kind word the most.
When thinking about the design I would love to make for her, two things came to mind: red and fringe. :-) I love love how Fire Spirit shawl turned out. Love the cable/lace/fringe combination. It is a fun shawl, as you can see from my pics ;-), and I hope Elena will love it and will enjoy wearing it.

Fire Spirit shawl features combination of rhombus silhouettes set in lace and a little cable twists. Fringe adds a playful element to the design. All of these elements reminiscent of fire flames thus giving the design its name. The shawl is knitted bottom-up. The border is designed in the way that makes it very easy to attach fringe and to block the shawl. Grab your favorite yarn and have fun knitting.

Diana

New shawl pattern: Bougainvillea.

Bougainvillea pattern is available at introductory price of $1.99 until Thursday, April 12, 10pm PST. The pattern will be available for $5.00 after that. https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/bougainvillea-7
Bougainvillea is my third design in the series of Shawls for Friends. I designed and knitted this shawl (the purple one in the pics) for my friend JoKaren, who is a fellow knitter I was lucky to meet some years ago through Ravelry. She is kind, wonderful person, supportive friend and has a great spirit about her. She has knitted so many things for others and I wanted to make something for her. A year ago she moved from the sunny California to cold Utah and I thought the lightweight and very warm alpaca shawl will be perfect for her. Also, unaware that this shawl was for her, she suggested the name Bougainvillea for this shawl when I asked for suggestions on my FB page. I hope she will like this surprise shawl ;-)
The yellow Bougainvillea shawl I made for myself. It uses one strand of fingering weight merino/silk and one strand of kidsilk. For details on this shawl see my project page: https://www.ravelry.com/projects/deenulya/bougainvillea-2
Happy knitting,
Diana

Rombik for me :-)

Rombik shawl is my second design in the series of #shawlsforfriends Love Rombik that I made for myself. Green feels so Spring. Also, as you can see, I am a plant addict. These are just two of my numerous plants. #Diana_plants
Love the combination of this two Colourmart cahmere/silk lacewieght yarns. The shawl came out warm and weightless.
I am extending the 50% sale on this pattern until the end of March 5th (11pm PST).
