Palessie and Afterglow Shawls.

Today I would like to share few of my projects/designs knitted few years back, but never photographed until recently :-)
One of them is Palsessie shawl. Knitted with ColourMart Silk 36/120nm DK wt., the shawl has amazing shine and drape. More details ont his project on Ravelry.

The second shawl I would like to show is Afterglow. This shawl is also knitted with ColourMart yarn, but this time it is ColourMart 18/52NM dk wt cotton/silk 50/50. Cotton adds crispier texture to the fabric while silk still gives plenty of drape. More on the project on Ravelry

Bridal Palessie Shawl.

Palessie shawl knitted in ivory silk yarn by ColourMart:
  http://www.ravelry.com/projects/deenulya/palessie-shawl-2
It only took 1.5 years for me to photograph this shawl ;-) I even  had to re-block the shawl since it has been so long since I made it.
I love this shawl. The silk is gorgeous. A little splitty, but not too much. The drape and the shine of the yarn are amazing.  I think it would make a perfect bridal shawl for someone or I just will wear it for special occasions in the summer :-)

Palessie Cowl design.

This is a companion cowl design for my shawl Palessie Just like in the shawl design, the cowl has lace motives that change direction from repeat to repeat.
The cowl is made from the same wonderful Silken Sock by PigeonRoof Studious. Thank you so much Krista :-))) The yarn and colorways are gorgeous and the drape of the yarn is superb :)
Both patterns will be available next weekend. There will be a pattern(s) giveaway at PRS blog ;-))) Do not miss it ;-))
The cowl project can be found on Ravelry.

New shawl design: "Palessie".

Thank you so much to everyone for your lovely comments for my "Once upon the leaf" wrap post. I greatly appreciate them :-))

Ever since I bought Pigenroof Studious Silken sock skein in Tarnished back in September of last year, I have been thinking of the shawl design to showcase this wonderful colorway and yarn. It all fell into place last week and I cannot be more happier with the finished shawl :))))))) While taking pictures today by the ocean and just walking around near the water in the evening, I was thinking to myself ” who needs a cardigan in the summer when you can wear a shawl” :))) This particular shawl wraps so lovely around the shoulders and arms. Also, the drape of the edges is just wonderful. I am so in love with this particular shawl shape.

I am also completely in love with this yarn. It blocks wonderfully, drapes beautifully and the color is just spectacular. Thank you so much Krista :-))
I have called this design Palessie. Polessie is a marshy region lining the Pripyat River in Southern Belarus, Northern Ukraine, and partly in Poland and Russia.  The yarn colorway reminded me of moss and marshes and Belarus and that is how the name Palessie came to mind.
My project on Ravelry can be found here.
