New pattern: Curvy Moon

Curvy Moon is a beautiful garter stitch shawlette accentuated with stripes and wavy border. Curvy Moon drapes lovely around the neck and shoulders. The shawl is knitted sideways seamlessly. This is a great beginner project and a nice relaxing project for the experienced knitters. The design used very little yarn (165 yards of each color of 5ply/sportweight) while still giving a shawl of generous size. This is a great project for utilizing the leftover yarn from the stash. Choose your favorite colors and have fun knitting Curvy Moon.

Pattern can be found on Ravelry or my blog.

I am running a promotion on this pattern right now.
The pattern will be sold at $3.50 (30% off its regular price) until Monday, April 14, 11pm Pacific time. After that date it will be sold at its regular price of $5.00.

Crimson Autumn cowl

I was just a little bored with the cardigan I was knitting and started to play around with a little 1x2 cables and had an idea to add some leaves. This cowl is the result :)) I love the mix of lace and cables and also the wavy edges of the cowl. So much fun to knit. Very easy and fast knit, that can be completed in 2-3 days. It took me a week, because I did not knit the cowl every day. However, to knit this fast it is very helpful that you work cables without a cable needle.

My second time working with CYE Fresco yarn and definitely not the last. Pure joy to knit with and to wear.
The pattern is called "Crimson Autumn" and my project on Ravelry can be found here.
The pattern will be available in few weeks.

New design: Grandes études {Part I}

Today I would like to show you third design from my planned e-book “Variations on a Theme”.
Caprice No. 24 in A minor is the final caprice of Niccolò Paganini’s 24 Caprices, and a famous work for solo violin.
The caprice has provided a rich seam of material for works by many composers. One of them is Franz Liszt.
The Grandes études de Paganini are a series of six etudes for the piano by Franz Liszt. The pieces are all based on the compositions of Niccolò Paganini for violin.

For this cowl I have used 3 skeins of Classic Elite Yarns Frescо (60% Wool, 30% Alpaca, 10% Angora, sport weight 5 ply) yarn. The yarn is so soft and pleasant to knit with. It is bouncy and shows stitches very well. The alpaca fuzz did not bother me at all. It is very slight and only visible on black.
Love how this cowl turned out :-) It folds so nicely around the neck and I love how the stitch pattern looks in a cowl. Some of you might recognize this stitch pattern from one of my previous designs "Iva". This stitch might look different from the rest of designs in “Variations on a Theme” collection, but it is not that different ;-) It is the same slipped stitich as in "Caprice No. 24" and "Rapsodiya" changed just a tiny bit. However, the resulting pattern looks dramatically different from the one used in the shawls.

My project called  Grandes études {Part I} and can be found on Ravelry here.
I am currently working on Grandes études {Part II}.
This pattern is going to be available with the rest of “Variations on a Theme” collection by mid March ;-)

"Layred" is featured in Classic Elite Yarns web letter.

I am so exited to have my shawl "Layered" featured in Classic Elite Yarns Web Letter.  I have been a subscriber to the web letter for years and it is such an honour to have my design featured in it.
To learn more about "Layered" please visit my original post on this design.  "Layered" is an unique double layered shawl. Bottom layer is knitted in stockinette stitch and top layer is knitted in a leaf lace pattern. Both layers are knitted bottom up and connected at the top. Each layer uses one ball of Classic Elite Silky Alpaca Lace.

I have been away on vacation last couple of weeks and away from the internet. I will be back next week with my regular posts :-)) Untill then,

Happy knitting,
Diana
