Rainbow Weave

My 3rd Woven shawl and I love it :-)
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/woven-4
I love how the colors show when the shawl is draped around the neck. A little peekaboo of greens and yellows and a pale lavender border. My Woven shawls are my most worn shawls. This is one is probably not the last. They take a little longer to make, but they are so highly wearable.
Also, very happy to use up leftovers from 9!!! other projects :-)

Pattern update: Woven and Bubblemania.

I am in the process of updating my older patterns to reflect my current pattern layout format.
Two pattern that have been recently updated are Woven and Bubblemania.
Woven pattern now  includes both written and charted instructions.

I also started working on my 3rd Woven shawl from leftover yarn I have accumulated form all those shawl projects :-)  I used just 3 color groups and light fingering to sport weight yarns. Most of the yarn used is multi ply, but there are couple single ply yarns used in the very beginning of the shawl. I love how it is coming out and also love that I am using up all these yarn that otherwise would just sit there.

Bubblemania pattern update includes abbreviation table and finished measurements that were not in the original pattern file.

Last, but not least, please check out these gorgeous Bubblemania scarves made by Daria (djaya on Ravelry) from Aade Lõng Artistic 8/1:

Golden Weave Shawl

Hi all :))) I have been traveling a little ( a little more on that in the future post) and away from my blog. However I have been knitting during this time and I have a new shawl to share with you. It is my old design called "Woven".  This shawl is available as free download on Ravelry and my blog.

This was a long project. Linen stitch is not for the faint of heart, especially all 900 yards of it ;-)) However, it is so worth it. I am very happy how this shawl turned out. I love the large size of it. I can comfortably wrap the shawl around my shoulders and it covers the arms for warmth and stays put on the shoulders. I love the yarn, both the colors and the silky texture of it. And I love the contrasting picot edge I chose for this shawl.
Also, this shawl was the most perfect project for traveling. You can just stop and pick up knitting at any time and do not need to bring any instructions with you. Great plane and airport knitting :))
My project is called "Golden Weave" and can be found on Ravelry here.

New shawl design: "Woven".

I have bought these two colors ( Tern and Fragrant colorways) of Madelinetosh merino light a while back and meant to use them together. I tried different patterns and ideas over the last year, but finally decided on something very simple. I love the woven effect the slipped stitch pattern gives. The shawl looks like it have been weaved, not knitted. I considered a lacy border for the shawl, but decided on simple striped one.

The shawl came out an average size, but took quite a bit of yarn. I love the result and feel this one going to get a lot of wear this Fall and Winter :-)
A pattern for “Woven” will be available after Thanksgiving :-) In mean time "Woven" can be found on Ravelry here.
