Some Exciting News

I'm really please and proud to say that I'm now a member of the awesome Visible Image design team. To say I'm thrilled is an understatement!

This is a piece I have made using the Revolution and the Flower INKognito sets with lots of DecoArt paints and mediums.
Thank you so much to Helen and Mark for the chance to play with these amazing stamps, I can't wait to get started!

Have a fun weekend, and thanks very much for looking xx

A Long Time Ago...

Good morning and happy Wednesday. It's time for a brand new challenge at Stampotique, and today Kristen has chosen circles. Here is what she has to say.
I love to use circles in my projects, so this week, I am challenging you to get creative and show us what you can create with circles in your project!
Here's mine

All the paints and mediums are by DecoArt. I cut some circles and used a stencil to make a geli plate background.
So circles - check.
Now for some stamping, I've used Spiraling Out of Control in the background.
And Design Cube on the 'moon'
All good movies need a star, so here we have Screaming Bunny as The Narator. I think he looks rather dapper in his silver space suit :-).
I had such fun making this (can you tell lol) and hope you join in too.
Have a fun week, and thanks very much for looking x

Pretty Woman

Hi and happy Wednesday, this must mean it's time for another challenge at Stampotique.

This week Arwen McCullen is our hostess and she is challenging us to Scribbles, here is what Arwen says about this challenge:

"I want to see scribbles in your projects this week, that can be by hand or by stamp, just add some scribbles."

Until the Mixology course with the lovely Kate Crane this would have scared the living daylights out of me, but Kate showed us how to scribble - with style!

All the paints and mediums are from the DecoArt media range.

This is a technique that Kate showed us so I won't go into detail - try and take the class it's such fun.
Here we have paint and stencilling. You can just see Karen's Dora Doodle Dolly poking her nose out - she was stamped after the card had been gessoed, the covered with masking fluid.

Time for some stemping, this is Carol's flower (small) one of my favourite stamps.
Time for the fun now, lots of scribbles with my white Posca pen.
There's also stamping with Text Block 3 and Mesh.
Here's Dora Doodle Dolly once she's had her masking fluid removed. She's been coloured with pencils.
There's more scribbles
Smile is obviously in love - I hope Dora doesn't break his heart...
Just a few bits of washi tape to finish. As a non doodler this was great fun to make, so thank you Kate.

I hope you get chance to join in with us and have a scribble.
Have a fun week, and thanks very much for looking x

My Favourite Place

Hellooooo and welcome to the weekend!!! After all my whingeing (whingeing, -  moi) about it being to cold to craft in the conservatory, I went in yesterday and it was 31.5 in the afternoon! You know what, that's too hot lol. This is what I made.

These are the Tando May colours. They are not colours that I would usually use, not because I don't like them - I do, but because I am such a creature of habit and I always reach for the reds and the blues.
All the paint used are from the DecoArt Media range. I used lots of Tinting Base on this one!
I painted up the Tando frame then sponged through a Tando mini stencil. I really like these mini stencils, there's lots of room around the edge so less chance of messing up.
All of the stamps are from Crafty Individuals and have been stamped onto an old gessoed German dictionary.
The arches have been painted in pink, I had lots of Tinting Base and literally ONE drop of Pyrole Red to make the pink. I've raised the arches with felt pads to make them stand out of the frames.
I love this stamp, it's an Alice Palace one from CI. They are such happy stamps.

I'm entering this into the following challenges;
That's Crafty - Go Figure
Tando Creative - week 1 colour challenge
Crafty Individuals - Anything Goes.

I hope you have a fab weekend, and thanks very much for looking x

Beauty

Good morning and happy Thursday. I'm going to whisper this very quietly in case it hears me but .... the sun is shining and it isn't raining/hailing/snowing!! I don't know how long it will last but the washing is done, pegged out, and blowing.
Ever since I came back from Mixology (pictures to follow once I've finished all my colouring in - I know I sound like a 6 year old) I've been practising my Kate Crane techniques. Kate is officially one of the nicest people and best teachers ever.
This is what I made.

All the paints are from the DecoArt Media range.
The face is a Sheena Douglass stamp.
The branches are from Tando and have been covered in Frantage embossing powder.
The screw and bookplate is from Tando and came from last years Mixology kit. There's also a bit of Frantage going on here too.

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges
Tando - anything goes,
That's Crafty - about face, and
Mixed Media Monthly - dimension.

I hope you like it, and thanks very much for looking x

Don't Mind Her...

Well April is certainly living up to it's name today as we seem to be having rather persistent 'showers' I've been having a play today, and after having a brilliant weekend at Mixology (yep more pictures to come I'm afraid) I've dug deep into my Tando box and come up with this.
All the paints used are from the DecoArt Media range, and the stamps are from Lost Coast.
This couple look so grim, but they always make me laugh, and I thought that the Beetlejuice quote fitted them perfectly.

I'm entering my lovely couple into the Tando colour theme challenge, and
The Lost Coast Designs  'anything goes' challenge.
This was a lot of fun to make, so thanks very much for looking xx

I Need To Be Right By Your Side

This month the challenge at Crafty Individuals is anything goes. This has to mean it's time to break out the Alice Palace stamps, so here's a coaster.

I started by painting my plain white tile with DecoArt Multi Surface paints.
The penguins have been stamped onto tissue paper then painted on the back with white paint.
Once dry I've sprayed with DecoArt varnish and added some cork to the base.
I really like these stamps - very cute but not yuk lol.
Hope you like it, and thanks very much for looking.
