Simon Says Stamp Mood Board

I'm stopping by today with a card for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog and this week there's a fall mood board.

I couldn't resist making a leafy card for the challenge.

The Poppystamps Maple Leaf is covered with gilding flakes.

The panel the leaf is adhered to is embossed with a Taylored Expressions Weathered Embossing Folder. I then tapped Versamark along the edges, sprinkled on gold embossing powder and heat set.

The sentiment is from the Neat and Tangled Oak Leaf stamp set and is black heat embossed on vellum and wrapped around the panel.

I finished off by rounding two of the corners on the card base.

Thanks for visiting with me today!

So Torn

When I saw CAS-ual Fridays So Torn Challenge I immediately thought of a leaf with fall colours.  I'm really not sure why, it's just one of those things that can't be explained.  So I set about trying to figure out how to use something torn on my card.  Very hard for someone who likes everything to be linear.

I lopped off 0.75" from my card front and attached 3 layers of torn paper to take its place.  My favourite Maple Leaf was stamped with Distress Inks and to frame the leaf I added Versamark to the edges of the square, sprinkled on embossing powder and heat set it.  A quick and easy way to add some colour and texture without using paper.

I'm also entering this card for Simon Says Thinking of You/Sympathy Challenge.  There's still time to play and enter both challenges!

Wishing you an inky day!

Kraft On

I have a couple of cards to share with you today. The first one is for CAS-ual Fridays Kraft On Challenge.
Kraft On
I punched out a bunch of butterflies from kraft card stock and adhered it to a kraft card base. For the coloured butterflies I inked up some glossy card stock with alcohol inks in shades of blue and added a bit of shimmer with some mixatives and the sentiment was stamped on vellum.

My next card is for the Simon Says Autumn Leaves Challenge.

This card has a white card base with a white vellum overlay that is attached to the card base with just the twine. The leaves were inked with Distress Inks and stamped onto the vellum and I used a die to emboss a frame around the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting!

Leaves

I like this time of year, it lets me indulge in one of my favourite obsessions...leaves. In particular, fall leaves in all their glorious colour.  I could spend hours inking up leaf stamps with Distress Inks, spritzing them with water and stamping them on watercolour paper and that's pretty much what I did yesterday.
Maple Leaves 3

With so many inky leaves I just had to make another card.

Maple Leaves 4  But I made a couple of small changes in the second design.
Maple Leaves 2

Well it seemed only right to add another one into the mix.

Maple Leaves 1 Then I thought a fourth card would make this a great gift set and I forced myself to stop there  : )  but I could have made more...

What I love about this is that no two leaves are ever the same just like in nature...sigh.

Each card is a little different from the others.  Some have distressing, one has deckled edges, the brads and sentiments vary but they all have sparkly Glitter Ritz strips which are just so pretty.  I wish it showed up better in the photos.

I'm entering these cards over at the Hero Arts September Challenge and over at Moxie Fab Worlds Repetition Challenge. There's still lots of time to enter a project for each challenge.

Wishing you an inky day!
