This is the start of an inspiration patch, where I hope that fellow scrappers and creators will come and find some inspiration, or even leave some inspiration for me.

Birthday Card - Berry71Bleu Sketch Challenge

Hello Everyone

I am up on the Berry71Bleu blog at the moment, with my take on the sketch challenge this month.

Here's the sketch.

I went with a mixed media Birthday card and used some Steampunk Debutante from Graphic 45.

I did some embossing and painting on the cogs, along with some copper crackle on the background, to add to this Steampunk style.

I used a Penny Black stamp for the Birthday sentiment.

There is still time for you to play along.  You have until the 30th Sep.

There is also some BoBunny goodies up for grabs.

Our Sponsor

Denise van Deventer and BoBunny

Long a favorite of card makers and scrapbookers, BoBunny papers, stickers, albums, brads, buttons, trinkets, jewels, ribbons, stamps and kits are always hot topics on consumer message boards. Each item still carries Jan's personal attention to detail and color, but she's no longer doing it all on her own. Her team of graphic designers, each with different styles and expertise, help to create the variety of product lines that BoBunny is known for. Whether your taste is whimsical, elegant, classic or playful, there's something for everyone with BoBunny.

Here are the gorgeous goodies that the September winner will receive.

Hope to see you playing along! ;-)

Have a good evening!

Sprinkles and Smiles - Prima BAP September / Scrap Around the World September Challenge

Hello Everyone

Thursday was a Public Holiday and then I had yesterday off too, so it has been really nice to wind down a little and just spend time with my son and spend time doing things around the house.

I did, however, finish a page for the Prima BAP and the Scrap Around the World Mood Board.

2015-September-BAP-riikka

I loved the sentiment of the mood board and the beautiful colours, so that was the inspiration for my page.

Those of you that follow my blog might also have noticed that I have not been as active blog wise, as I was before and I think the sentiment of this mood board has a lot to do with that.  I have felt the need to balance more of my time, so that more is spent with the family and with my home, rather than sitting behind the PC. So when I do actually sit down in my craft room, it is to create, rather than do the PC thing! :-)

Anyways, so here is the page I made.

It's been a while since I created a page about myself...and this photo was taken quite a few years back.  It was actually taken at our engagement party...seems like a life time ago! ;-)

I used the gorgeous Garden Fable Collection and did loads and loads of fussy cutting.  For the background I used a super Prima stencil, some gesso and some yummy Colour Bloom Tea Stain and lots of stamps.

Sometimes I miss those carefree days but then again, what would life be without a husband, kids, animals and all the joy that they bring!! ;-)

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I really appreciate the visit!
Have a super, scrappy, Saturday!

Capture Every Moment - Berry71Bleu September Challenge

Hello Everyone

I am sharing my layout for the September Challenge at Berry71Bleu today.
The challenge this month is this beautiful mood board from Tusia.

I loved this forest theme and found a photo that was really perfect for it.

I used the fabulous 7 Dots Studio Collection Lost and Found. The super tree chippies are from the same collection.

This cute little photo of Joe was taken on a fishing trip to Dullstroom.  There was a wood surrounding our cabin and so I took some photo's of Joe in between all the massive trees. He was only 3 here...
all wrapped up and so very sweet! ;-)

I did lots of stamping on the background and love that it all added to the twiggy, woody feel.

There's still time to play along this month and this fabulous Lost and Found Collection is up for grabs.

Life is Sweet - Berry71Bleu September Challenge - Things I Love

Hello Everyone

Happy Friday!!!! Yay...always a good day to start the weekend off and get one into that time-off mode.

I have a page up on the Berry71Bleu Blog here today.  This month's challenge is about "Things I Love"....

So firstly I created a board of a few of the things I love.

One of these is cake....LOL...so my page is about that!:-)

I used one of Marivic's gorgeous tags for this page.  I did put my title over it, but did think it was just perfect, as one can still see that chocolate ganache cake behind the title along with the rest of the tag goodies.

Here's a closer look at the tag.

I used one of my favourite stencils and did some gesso and watercolouring.

The journalling is very "tongue in cheek" and just a little bit of a giggle.
"Admittedly, I have a bit of a sweet tooth and I really do love a decadent cake or pudding.  When one can treat oneself, with a little something sweet, why absolutely not?! My thoughts are that life can be bitter enough and that a little treat can sweeten any day! Marie Antoinette was a woman after my own heart! ;-)

I used the vintage Chic Collection from Heidi Swapp.  It's still a firm favourite!

I hope this added some sweetness to your day!
Have a sweet one...whatever you are doing!

Always - Prima September BAP

Hello Everyone

I am so pleased that tomorrow we have a half week breather, as it's a Public Holiday! ;-) So it means there is no rush to get Joe off to bed, or myself, in fact, and so there is time to blog, scrap and chat! LOL

I finished a page for the Prima BAP this month. This page kind of took on a life of it's own and just developed and it did not turn out the way I had planned it to.  Not in a bad way...just different!

Here was the sketch.

2014 BAP Keren

I had wanted to keep the right hand side leaner....but it did not work out like that.

I used the Something Blue Collection, along with some other bits and bobs from other Prima collections. I did make use of the flower backing, as the matting for my photo, which I was very pleased at too! ;-)

The little buttons for this collection were stunning.  I had to make sure that I used some.

Here is a close up of the journaling.  I just know that these two will be together forever! ;-)

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you have a super day tomorrow.

Live Your Own Fairy Tale - Birthday Canvas - Scrap Around the World September Challenge

Hello Everyone

I hope your Monday was good and that it was kind to you! I had a fairly busy one, but not a bad one at all! ;-)

As I mentioned yesterday, it's my neice's 11th Birthday today and so I shared the trinket box with you yesterday and today I share the canvas which I made for her as well. I am also entering into the Scrap Around the World September Challenge, because it fitted in beautifully with the theme.

Here was the super, magical mood board.

I used the Enchanted Garden Collection, which was perfect for this theme.

The magical element of the mood board was by far the one that stood out for me and little girls, always believe in magic! So I wanted to give my neice something that could encourage her, but also awaken some of that magic inside her - hence the title - Live Your Own Fairy Tale!! This photo was taken a few years ago....but is such a playful and gorgeous one, that I just had to use it! ;-)

I used the new BoBunny stickable stencils and they were just so awesome to create my background, along with some gesso, paints and stamps.

I used the Ephemera Pack for this collection and I loved the rub-ons and goodies that came with it! I still think the rub-ons look fresh! ;-)

I fussy cut all sorts of little bits, which added to this magical theme.

All the blooms are Petaloo flowers.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope this added a little magic to your day!
Have a super one!
