This is the start of an inspiration patch, where I hope that fellow scrappers and creators will come and find some inspiration, or even leave some inspiration for me.

Mothers Day Altered Embroidery Hoop - BoBunny Harmony Collection

Hello Everyone

Mothers Day was a super day spent with my Mom and the rest of the family.

I created an altered embroidery hoop for my Mom and she was thrilled with it.
It is up on the BoBunny blog here.

Here's a little sneek peak.

On this hoop I didn't do too much from a mixed media perspective as I felt the lace was so pretty and I did not want to cover that up.

There is also a video up on the blog, which I hope you might have a look at too! ;-)

Thanks ever so much for stopping by!
Have a super Sunday!

Framed Verse - BoBunny

Hello Everyone

Apologies for not having posted for quite a few days.  I would have posted on Monday night, but we had load shedding from 6-10pm and then last night was my scrap and chat evening! So yes...this is really the first opportunity I have had since the weekend.

I created a Framed Verse using lots of BoBunny goodies...not least BoBunny stamps.  I love them to bits and they really are my "go to" stamps! ;-) This verse is an affirmation and I will put it up where I can see it everyday and be a reminder to myself.

I had so much fun with my stamping and watercolour background.  Here's a little bit of the process.

Step one was randomly stamping the same image with StazOn ink. Some I inked once and stamped twice so I could darker and lighter images.

Once all this was dried, I then began doing the watercolouring of the stamped images.  I started off with 2 greens and once that was dried, I then added the 2 oranges.

This is not exact watercolouring, but just getting colour in the approximate areas.

I think the end result is a really pretty background.

Here's a close-up.

For the clusters I used some BoBunny blooms, along with flowers I had made and some leaves I had stamped and water coloured.

Here's a look at the gorgeous verse again.

I really wanted to get into my stamps and really use them again, after I had done the see packets.  So this really was another fun project.

Thanks for stopping by!
Hope to see you back soon!

Changing Seasons - 7 Dots Studio April Challenge

Hello Everyone

It is a very chilly day in Johannesburg and just as I walked in the door, the rain drops began to fell! BRRR...
so a very apt page to share with you today! ;-)

I am just in the nick of time to submit this page for the 7 Dots Studio April Challenge here.

April showers bring May flowers

So this is my take on the challenge. I apologise in advance, if the photo's are not so great, because with this very dreary weather outside, the lighting was awful.

In our part of the world, May means that autumn is almost over and winter is surely on it's way! So hence the reason for the title of my page. My journalling says: Month of May 2014 - The Aloe blooms twice a year! Once at the start of Spring and then again at the start of winter.  May has come and it's a sure sign of the changing seasons!

I used the gorgeous Love is in the Air papers and an Illumination sticker, along with some of the Illumination stamps. The colouring was super for this page, and I just enhanced a little more of the orange.

I used 2 Enmarc chippies, which I crackled and aged. The blooms are BoBunny and Prima and the stencil also Prima. I have been on a mission to also use my stash and so the title is a mix mash of alpha rub-ons. The washi tape is My Minds Eye.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I really do appreciate your visits!

A Snowy Day in Africa - Scrap Africa Challenge no. 24

Hello Everyone

We have a new challenge up at Scrap Africa and even though it is a really busy time of the year, it would be great if you could play along.

The challenge is glitter, snowflakes and masking.

Here is my page.

I used the super Woodland Winter collection from BoBunny and it was perfect for this snowy page.

I had cut the snowflakes with a diecut through the Cuttlebug, and then used the remaining form as a template for my masking! It worked really well! ;-)

My journalling says this: It is such a rare occurance that it snows in Johannesburg. So when it does, it is an amazing sight and definitely awesome! To see the gardens all white and fluffy was magic! 07 Aug 2012.

The glitter is a little hard to see, but is definitely there! ;-) On the edges of the little brown flowers, there is gold glitter for some bling!

Well I hope you will pop over and hand a look at the amazing inspiration, and hopefully play along!

Have a super day!
