January Block

Here is my January block along

Now, I'll have capital letters 

after my name.

Now, for the house block, then the borders.

I am liking the way this is looking.

Susan: First Row

Hello, Everyone! I've missed you all the last week. My computer died and it took a week's mail to get another one. It's used and I almost thought I was going to have to send it back, but when I downloaded the latest iOS, it's been working fine. So, here's a pic! I finished the October block last week and couldn't upload to IG after they updated on Wednesday, so I hope they update again soon and fix that! I sewed the top row all together and I just love it!
 

I have beads to add, but will probably put those in after quilting.

Susan: August Block Finished

I finally got the last of the embroidery done, and the blocks sewn together, yesterday. I did, in fact, do most of the remaining stitching on my road trip. Fiona, you asked about the trip. I went about 205 miles south of me, to Atlanta, Georgia, (which is going to have lots more of the wind and rain from Hurricane Irma than I will get!) for a special purpose, and didn't get to play in the local quilt shop in Marietta, where we stayed, because the hours they were open interfered with why I was there. Still, I stitched! Yay, me! Now I'm not behind ... for at least a few weeks. LOL
 

Just In Time

As you might have guessed, I didn't do anything on this quilt in July, but I have been busy stitching in August....

 This is the stitchery I did to replace the 

Pudding, so July's block is done.

 And here's August. I think I left one of the 

candy canes out.

 I realize it is most likely September in

Australia, but here in the U.S. it

is still August....In Alabama it is the 31st

at 3:30pm.

I have loved seeing what everyone is

doing and the colors and fabrics

being used...

I have been working on the Penny candle

mat and that will be my May 

project when it is done.....

Susan (dezertsuz): Not Quite There

I have everything stitched down, but I still need to do the hand stitching and the squares around. Here's my picture as of tonight:
 

  Yep, backwards, and yes, I do know what causes that. LOL It'll be fine. I'm going on a two-day temple trip to Atlanta and plan to stitch on the 4 hours there and the 4 hours home. Maybe Thursday night in the motel, if I have any energy left, too. Might finish it, who knows!

Michelle  is an Australian designer and last year produced this lovely Christmas quilt and pattern book.  I snatched up a copy as soon as I could but good intentions have been kept at bay....

Now is the time to sew a new Christmas quilt....

Isn't it just too pretty?????

This is Michelle's book - as well as the quilt there are a number of other projects in it too.....

... and Guess What?  Raewyn and I are going to host a Stitch-A-Long and we would love you to join us.

Chookyblue has kindly offered the use of the Stitch-A-Long blog so we can post our progress and keep encouraging one another to keep going....  Thanks Chooky -

Holly Cottage Christmas can be purchased directly from Michelle.... details are in the sidebar of her blog....

Although Michelle did her quilt using Needleturn Applique, it lends itself well for blanket stitch (hand or machine) and there is some stitchery too as well as the piecing of the blocks, which are not complicated at all.....

I have a fat 1/8th pack of Anni Downs fabrics - and bought a bit of extra's for borders and background.... this is what I'll be using....

Taking names now... more details later .....
