Susan: Top Finished!

Yesterday, I put the final border on A Holly Cottage Christmas. I auditioned several fabrics, but I kept coming back to this yellow one with gold leafy vines on it. I bought it recently from someone's eBay shop for very little, and it seemed perfect for this top. I noticed that different colors gave the top different looks, and I liked this look. I'll be binding with the rest of the red/green/gold plaid that is around the hearts and stars and a few other blocks.
Once this goes off to the quilter, later in the summer, I'll be ready for another something!

The top is done!

There has been so much machine sewing happening here. I just had to get my top made for the Stitch-a-long blog by the end of September and here it is! It was a big job but worth it to have this quilt top ready!

Quilt Top!

or very close to a completed quilt top. I just have the strips to sew to the top and bottom and will have it done by the end of the night!

It really is hard to get a good pic...so I placed it on my bed as it's outgrown my design wall. I had intentions of hanging it in a room I am in the process of making over...but it does seem to look quite good where it is!
I am going to start quilting on the weekend, so I will be back to share when it's all quilted!!

Bye For Now!

Progress here, but no finish yet!

One of the blocks in my second TTS quilt

The second TTS quilt top ready to go.
I have been humming and ha-ing about what to do with my second lot of stitcheries. (Of course, my first quilt isn't quite finished yet, but I figured some piecing would spur me on with that!) I thought I might make table runners and other projects, but despite deciding that nothing happened. So I figured what I really wanted to do with them is make a second quilt. Today I finished the remaining blocks off and put the quilt top together. I really like it and am keen to get it finished. Tomorrow I will be quilting!

It's a finish! :0)

Today I finished my Gardener's Journal quilt! It's hard to believe I started out with this...

...and ended up with this!

I even used jelly roll strips to piece part of the backing. The rest was a scrap of fabric I had in my stash. And I used jelly roll strips to piece the binding too!

And this is all that's left...five jelly roll strips that I'm sure I'll find a use for in one of my future projects! Thanks so much Chookyblue for organizing the stitch along. It was just what I needed to get this project started...and finished! :0)

Finished Quilt Top!!!!

Here is my finished quilt top!   I finished it at 11pm last night!!   The photo is not fantastic as it was a cloudy morning here and this is out on my verandah - but you get the general idea!  I'm finished!!! Yay!!!    And as I don't have the time to quilt it - I have taken it to a friend today who is going to machine quilt it for me!     I'm excited!!   Well done to everyone who has finished and those who are also stitching away madly to try and meet this deadline!   Thanks Chooky & Co. for the idea of gathering together like minded women to achieve something so lovely!
