Five on Friday

Hallo allemaal, hier weer een 'Vijf op vrijdag'!

Nummer 1: 

een kussen dat ik haakte en waarvan ik zelf de wol ook gesponnen heb.

Hello you guys, here's another 'Five on Friday'!

Number 1 : 

this pillow; I spun the wool myself, very soft merino, 

and then crocheted (?) the cover.

Ik denk dat je op deze foto wel kunt zien dat ik het draad voor de 

bloem zo gesponnen heb dat er verschillende tinten in zitten waardoor

het heel levendig wordt.

I think you can see in this picture that I spun the wool for the flower

with different shades so it gets more lively.

Ik heb geen patroon gebruikt ofzo maar eigenlijk gewoon 

op gevoel 'wild' gehaakt .

I didn't use a pattern or anything but just did 

some 'wild' crochet, you know, go with the flow.

Ik ben er eerlijk gezegd heel blij mee!

Er is er nog een in de maak, met de licht turquoise merino die ik al 

heb gesponnen.

To be honest, I am really chuffed with it!

There's another one on my hook, with the light turqoise merino 

I already spun.

Nummer 2: 

slaplantjes, ze groeien hartstikke goed!

Number 2:

lettuce plants, they are doing so well!

Nummer 3:

foto's van onze na-het-eten- wandelingetjes.

Number 3:

pictures of our after-dinner walks.

Nummer 4:

nog meer haakwerk.

Deze foto gebruikte ik ook op Instagram om mijn favoriete

dekens te laten zien....

Number 4:

some more crochet.

This picture I used also on Instagram to show my favourite blankets...

.... en even later zag ik dit: 

onze eigen prinses op de erwt.

.... and a bit later I saw this:

our own prinses and the pea.

Veel lekkerder kun je denk ik niet liggen!

I don't think it gets any more comfortable then this!

Nummer 5:

de lente is nu dan toch echt begonnen,

ook in onze tuin.

Alles staat er nu zo lekker fris groen en bloesemig bij!

Catching up!

Nou moe, weer een week voorbij; snel maar weer even bijpraten!

Ik ben vooral veel buiten geweest, lekker in de tuin gerommeld en wat planten verplaatst

die toch wat meer ruimte nodig hadden dan ik vorig jaar dacht.

Nadat ik Facebook vaarwel had gezegd na een paar weken

(nee, toch niks voor mij), ben ik nu Instagram aan het proberen, 

tot nu toe vind ik het leuk om plaatjes te kijken bij bekenden en minder bekenden

en er af en toe zelf ook eens wat opzetten.

Well, another week has passed; time to catch up again!

I was outside a lot this week, rummaging in the garden and replacing some plants

that needed a bit more space than I anticipated last year.

I said goodbye to Facebook after just a few weeks (no, not my thing after all),

and I am now trying Instagram, so far so good.

Deze haaksels had ik daar ook al op gezet.

Ik maakte ze omdat ik geen passende potten had en die bruine plastic

dingen waar ze in zitten niet zo plezant vond om naar te kijken.

Lieve schoteltjes hè, die zijn van mijn oma.

These crochet makes I also shared on Instagram already.

I made them because I had no fitting pots and didn't want to look at those

brown, plastic ones these sweet daff's came in.

The little saucers are pretty, aren't they, these are my gran's.

Ik kwam ook nog wat foto's op mijn mobieltje tegen van een wandelingetje

die ik maakte met zoonlief.

Het leverde schitterende luchten op en ook een doorweekt stel kleren,

want die bui in de verte was rap dichterbij gekomen.

Maar, mijn waterproof mascara zat nog waar ie moest zitten,

goeie test!

I also found some pics on my mobile which I took when I went for

a stroll with son.

The skies were amazing but just before we were home we got

soaking wet because that dark sky came closer very fast.

But my waterproof mascara was still where it should be,

the ultimate test!

Ik heb ook nog aardig wat draad gesponnen de afgelopen dagen.

Zo leuk om dan zelf kleuren te mixen om precies de tinten 

te krijgen die de wilt!

I also did some fair amount of spinning the last few days.

So satisfying to mix the colours to get the kind of tread you want!

Deze mooie merino wol werd gesponnen tot twee flinke bollen garen

waar ik dan weer een kussen mee ga haken.

I spun this pretty merino fleece into two big balls of yarn

which I am going to use to crochet a pillow.

Lekker zacht draad !

Nice and soft yarn!

Verder was het ook nog de week waarin veel bloemen nog nét in de 

knop zaten, ook mooi.

It was also a week of buds- that -were -just -not - yet - a- flower,

also pretty.

Nou, dit was een beetje een rommelig blogberichtje,

maar we zijn weer redelijk bij in ieder geval!

Zoals altijd hartstikke gezellig dat je op bezoek komt hier,

dat maakt het bloggen juist zo leuk!

Tot gauw weer!

Softy

Ik heb gewoon even zin in wat zachte kleuren en pluizige vachtjes op

deze stormachtige tweede Paasdag!

Nou ja, afgezien van die knalrode pannendeksel dan, maar dat contrast vind ik

 wel weer mooi :-)

I just fancy some soft colours and fluffy fur on this stormy Easter Monday!

That is, apart from that alarmingly red pan lid, but I do like the contrast :-).

What became of those leftovers?

Die restjes werden uiteindelijk een kussen!

Ik was gewoon in het wilde weg aan het haken en wist niet waar het 

ergens zou stoppen totdat bleek dat de lap die ik al had gemaakt precies groot

genoeg was als hoes voor dit kussen.

Alleen nog even de zijkanten dichtmaken en klaar was ie!

Those leftovers became a pillow cover eventually!

I was just crocheting away and didn't know where it would end until I 

noticed that the piece I had already made was exactly the size of this pillow.

All I had to do was finish the sides and it was done!

Kwam dat even goed uit, de roze draad was bijna op!

Perfect timing, I almost ran out of pink!

Five on Friday: simple pleasures

Lentebloemen op tafel...

Spring flowers on the table...

's ochtends kaarsen aan omdat het zo donker en regenachtig is...

Lighting candles in the morning because it's so dark and rainy...

Pippi die net gedronken heeft en nog een druppel aan haar kin heeft hangen...

Pippi who still has a drop of water hanging from her chin after drinking...

Haken in goed gezelschap...

Crochet with nice company...

Een zo goed als nieuw boek vinden bij de kringloop!

(Dat kaft is niet kapot hoor, dat hoort zo;-)).

Dat waren mijn vijf simpele pleziertjes van deze week,

hopelijk hadden jullie ook een aantal van die momenten waarop je zo kan

genieten van de kleinere dingen in het leven!

Finding an almost new book at the thriftstore!

(It's not torn, it's supposed to look like that ;-)).

These were my five simple pleasures from this week,

Five on Friday again !

Uh, nee, dit zijn eigenlijk geen kattenvoetjes warmers Catoo...

Wat het dan wel moet worden weet ik ook nog niet precies, dat hangt een beetje

af van hoeveel garen ik nog heb. Ik ben namelijk restjes aan het ophaken.

Uh, no, Catoo, these are actually not little cat feet warmers...

What they will be I don't know for sure yet, that depends on how much yarn

I have left. I am using up bits of leftovers.

Misschien een kussen of hopelijk een klein dekentje...

Maybe a cushion cover or hopefully a little blankie...

Pippi is nog steeds helemaal blij met 'haar' koffer,

zij pikt 'm toch het meest in!

Pippi is still totally happy with 'her' suitcase,

most of the time it's her sleeping in it!

Kijk nou, die pluizenbuik, zo lief...

Look at that fluffy belly, so sweet...

Waar ik ook van genoten heb deze week was het 

ontzettend wisselvallige weer,

nou ja, de schitterende wolkenluchten die het opleverde dan.

Als je net middenin een bui zit is het totaal niet grappig natuurlijk,

maar vanuit het raam gezien is het prachtig!

I also enjoyed the huge varieties in the weather this week,

well, the amazing skies that came with it I mean.

When you are in the middle in such heavy rainfall it's not funny at all 

ofcourse, but looking out of the window it looks marvelous!

Deze wolkbreuk zag ik vanuit het keukenraam.

This sky I saw from the kitchen window.

Ik ben ook nog verder gegaan met het vilten van m'n lampenkap in wording.

Hier zie je de achterkant van een van de panelen, nog twee te gaan.

De gekleurde stroken naaldvilt zijn nu vastgevilt aan het witte naaldvilt van de voorkant,

waar ik van tevoren de 'lamellen' al in had genaaid.

I also continued making the felt for my lampshade -to-be.

Here you can see the backside of one of the panels,

still two to go.

The coloured pieces of woolfleece are now felted onto the white piece from the front,

in which I had already sewed those strips that stick out.

Hier kun je goed zien wat het effect is:

de kleuren op de achterkant zijn vermengd met de witte wol van de voorkant

waardoor de kleur wat zachter wordt.

Ik ben tot nu toe heel blij met het resultaat!

Here you can see what the effect is:

the coulours on the back have mixed with the white wool from the front

which gives softer colours.

So far I am happy with the result!

Kijk, dit is mijn kaarsen voorraad.

Als die blikken beginnen leeg te raken krijg ik toch de kriebels want

zo'n beetje elke avond wordt er wel wat gefikt hier, ik ben er gek op.

Ik vind ze zo op de vensterbank ook leuk staan en maak er wel

een 'ding' van om leuke kleuren uit te zoeken, tegenwoordig meestal bij Dille en Kamille

want die kaarsen branden mooi én lang.

Look, this is my candle stash.

When those tins are becoming emptier I get a bit nervous because 

we lit candles almost all evenings, I just love it.

I also like seeing them like this, on the windowsill, and I make a bit of a fuzz

to choose pretty colours. Most of the time I buy them at Dille and Kamille 

because their candles burn beautiful ánd long.

En dan deze er nog bij voor een lekker luchtje...

Nou, ik ben klaar voor het weekend!

Het schijnt ook aardig weer te worden dus hopelijk kan ik nog

wat in de tuin rommelen en spitten en kijken hoe alles al begint uit te lopen.

The weather seems to be reasonable the coming days, so hopefully

I can rummage around in the garden and see how everything is getting

ready for spring.
