Royce is 1

Royce William Kroff turned 1 on August 23rd this year! We can't believe how fast his first year has gone. He is so easy going and so much fun!
Things Royce loves:
Splashing in water and puddles
Playing with T.J. and Heber
Hiding behind the couch peek-a-boo
Bananas
Dogs (especially Putty, he calls him Pu-buh)
His bottle "ba ba"
Clapping and cheering

Where have we been?

So I pretty much dropped out of blogging world the last six months. I could barely remember my password or how to even make a post! But I figured I better update all you faithful followers (sarcasm...not sure who even looks at this anymore) on why I have been too busy to post much!

Number 1. Trying to buy this house! We put the offer in on this in December. Its a short sale with two lien holders. Thus, its been a waiting game the entire time. We might close soon. You never know though.....its dragging on forever!!

Number 2. Baby Kroff number three is coming in August! I am due on August 23, exactly two months from today! We do not know the gender, we want to be surprised on this baby! T.J. says he wants a brother, but he will love the baby whether it is a sister or a brother.  Heber talks about a baby sistah quite often. But he did just get a bunch of baby girl cousins and his older cousins all have new "baby sisters" so who knows. Either way we are excited to meet this new family member soon!

Number 3. We are always trying to fit in fun things. Like a hike at Zion with the family!

Number 4. Weekend Snowbird ski/snowboard resort trip in May for Steve to go to a troubled youth conference for work. (no time for Steve to ski unfortunately). Me and the boys did a lot of laying around watching tv, a little swimming with the whole family, and T.J., Heber and I rode the tram up the mountain one day! This was our last little get away before our next busy adventure...

Number 5. Last but not least our new business! This has been one of the craziest and hardest and funnest things we have ever done. We decided to try a summer business selling shaved ice! Meet Kokomo Sno, Hurricane's newest shaved ice stand. We have been open a month now and it is BUSY for our schedules! Its been fun to be open and get things going though! This was one of our opening day photos, where T.J. was slightly disappointed that he did not get more than one shaved ice that day.

There you have it! :)

T.J. and Steve's birthday festivities

I know this is from forever ago but I finally uploaded these pictures! For Steve's birthday he requested a hike up to the Saddle. Its a 4 mile hike he does with his job at Biggest Loser Fitness Ridge.  The trail head is behind the Tuachan and it ends in Snow Canyon State park. We got a sitter so we could enjoy a nice long (more advanced) hike! It was so much fun! A lot of Steve's family joined us.

Marium, Brittany, Steve, Danny, McCoy, Justin, Megan & Ben Kroff

It had a pretty steep climb, so we were glad to not worry about kids falling :)

We had so much fun on the hike, and we laughed the entire hike, burning extra calories luckily. :)

Later that day Steve was excited to try out his new shotgun he got himself on black friday for his birthday/Christmas. So we headed with some of his brothers and kids to outskirts of town and let them play.

Costco pizza for dinner with the Kroff clan at our house after the festivities.

Final birthday celebration for the birthday boys!! T.J. turned 4 and Steve turned 29 on November 24, 2012. So fun to share their birthday forever! We invited all of both our families and pretty much everyone came, so our small house was packed! But fun. :)

I thought it would be funny to put the real amount of candles on Steve's pie.

Loves his birthday pumpkin pie! {not to mention he is good looking ;)}

Getaway to Moab!

We spent fall break in Moab and it was so great!

This is the little cabin we stayed in...everything but the bathroom and bedding and it was totally a blast! Steve really wanted to camp, but I didn't want to be cold at night. So this was the compromise. :)

Dream come true for these kids to have a bunk bed to play on the entire time! And they came out of it alive without ever falling off!

We love this adventurous little guy. He is not afraid to try most things.

Absorbed...watching the Disney channel...something we don't have available at home.. :)

Canyonlands National Park
{One of the most stressful places you can take two boys under the age of 4 that are dying to look over the edge of cliffs}

Heber and T.J.  Best buds!!

"I did it!" after climbing up a big rock

The Rock Chair.

Jesus Loves You! T.J.'s resting spot. haha

Mesa Arch - one of the most popular short hikes in Canyonlands. Unfortunately we couldn't enjoy the lookout view to the fullest, because we were fighting T.J. that he definitely HAD to hold one of our hands to look over and he was not happy about it. So we didn't get to stay long. It was an awesome view looking at the valley below under the arch!

Apparently we pushed the kids pretty hard. After making them hike 2-3 miles they fell asleep on our drive home and they were OUT.

We came up with the best way to grill potatoes! Super easy while camping: Cut them in wedges, put them in a ziploc bag, add oil, salt and pepper, and shake around. Then you just grill both sides! Delish!

We should start a food blog. :)
jk

We took a scenic route home, and made a trip through Capitol Reef National Park.  We LOVED it there! We didn't have much time to spend so we want to go back to camp next year!

Perfect pic, only missing his smile.

Wow! Handsome!

While I was making sandwiches in the car for lunch, Steve took the boys on a walk. They came to an orchard that you can pick the apples in. Apparently he had to climb quite high up the tree, but he managed to succeed in picking his first red apples off a tree. :)

I think Heber made an expression in the picture that Steve makes sometimes when people take pics of him! haha

Did I mention they are best buds?

Obviously Heber was not thrilled about having to take a picture here. haha

We chose the perfect time to make this trip. We had beautiful weather, and the fall colors were gorgeous!
We enjoyed the fall colors our entire drive home, it was awesome!
Such a fun getaway!
