Fall Joy Fold Card

I'm back with another Word Art Wednesday challenge card. This week we're focusing on Psalm 91:11, "For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways." I don't know about you, but it is a comfort to me to know that the Lord sends His angels to watch over me and help me. I do believe they assist us in more ways that we'll ever know. I believe they also provide protection for us as well. How wonderful that the Lord not only protects us Himself but also sends His angels to help us in our daily lives.

I decided to make a joy-fold card for this week. Here are complete directions on Splitcoaststampers in this Joy Fold tutorial by Beate Johns. I used the measurements at the end of the tutorial for a square card. It is 4.25" square when folded. I love fall and am ready for some cooler weather. So, I chose to use some fall theme papers this week.

I did some interior decorating and included a secondary sentiment on the interior flap. If I need to write more than the small space allows, I will use the back of the card.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Recollections (#110 white card base), Georgia Pacific (white sentiment panels), C'oredinations (Krafty Canvas), Bazzill (green)
Patterned Paper: Ms. Sparkle & Co (Woodland 6 x 6 pad)
Stamps: WORDart by Karen (Psalm 91:11), Dare 2B Artzy (Praying for You)
Ink: Versafine (Onyx Black)
Tools/Embellishments: Spellbinders Dies (Classic Squares Large & Small, Decorative Labels One), The Eyelet Outlet Jewels (Gray), The Paper Studio sequins, May Arts ribbon

I'm entering this card in the Get Creative Challenge #84 - Anything Goes.

Thanks for stopping by to visit today. I hope you'll stop by the Word Art Wednesday blog to pick up your free and digi and see the projects from the rest of the Design Team.

Tickled Pink Birthday

{If you are looking for my Word Art Wednesday post, please scroll down one post or click here.}

For my card today, I decided the showcase the beautiful flamingos in the Tickled Pink stamp set on a Joy-Fold Card. I used the video tutorial found here for my version of this card. The finished card is 4.25" square. The base cardstock measures 6.25" x 4.25" scored at 4.25" on the long side. The insert piece measures 6" x 3" and is scored at 3" on the long side. The base pieces are decorated with papers from the Blooming Garden Collection Paper Pad. The sentiment was stamped in the middle of an inked die cut Double Stitched Circle. The circle was matted and adhered to the insert piece. The flamingos were stamped and colored with Copics before being die cut with the coordinating Flamingo dies. They were popped up on the sentiment circle. A fine tip black pen was used for faux stitching on each panel.

More papers from the same collection are used on the interior. The birthday sentiment was stamped inside a Stitched Circle die cut. Another Copic colored and die cut flamingo was added to carry the flamingo theme to the inside of the card. The plain cardstock panel allows room for a message to the recipient.

When closed, the left edge of the insert is tucked behind the single fussy cut flower (from one of the patterned papers) that was adhered to a circle die cut before being popped up over the background papers. Three more fussy cut flowers are used as added embellishments. The flower centers have Glossy Accents added to them while the flower petals and the flamingos have a couple coats of clear Wink of Stella to help them shine. As a finishing touch, some sequins topped with stickles were added to the card front.

Supplies:
Our Daily Bread Designs products:

Other Supplies:
Cardstock - Paper Trey Ink (black card base), Recollections (cream), Georgia Pacific (white for images)
Copic Markers: R00, 01, 02, 11, 12, 20; C0

Tools/Embellishments: Simon Says Stamp (Moonshine Sequins), Stickles (Star Dust), Glossy Accents, Staedtler Fine Tip Marker (Black), Wink of Stella (clear), Memento Tuxedo Black Marker (used on edges of die cut flamingos)

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Scor-Pal Challenge #39 - Die Cuts and More Than One Fold (my card has 2 folds - one on the card base and one on the smaller flap card - the Scor-Pal sure makes it easy to get all of them crisp so that the card lays flat)

2 Crafty Critter Crazies Challenge #4 - Anything Goes but must have some type of critter
Crafty Awesomeness Challege - Must have colored image

Monkey Business

I have a card to share with you today using the Monkey Business digi set from Deedee's Digis.  This is the current Digi of the Month and is available this month for a special price in the shop or Deedee will email it to you for free if you purchase $10 or more (after any discounts) in the shop.  You can see all the details here

This month we're celebrating the one year anniversary of Deedee's Digis being back in business.  So the Digi of the Month challenge has a couple twists:

Twist #1: FREE for all - participants from last month's Digi of the Month challenge received the entire set free.  However, one of the images is free to download from the blog this month.  If you make and link up a project using one of the images from the set, you receive the next month's featured set free.

Twist #2:  PRIZES!!  There will be weekly prizes and then a monthly winner.  Be sure to check out the blog post here for all the details.

Back to my card....I made a 5.5" square joy-fold card.  After die cutting the single monkey pre-colored image from the set, the background was sponged with light blue ink for a sky.  One of the sentiments was die cut and double matted.  Usually I have a brad or design element for the top layer to tuck under to keep a joy-fold card closed.  That didn't work on this card design but the extra weight from the sentiment keeps the top flap down.  Some glossy accents was applied to the banana and the heart on the top of the cupcake.

One of the digi papers was cropped down to a strip and then die cut to add a little interior decorating.  This is one of the benefits of digis - you can resize them for your project.

Supplies:
Cardstock:  Georgia Pacific (white), Recollections (kraft), Core'dinations (green)
Patterned Paper:  DCWV
Stamps:  Deedee's Digis (Monkey Business)
Ink:  Stampin' Up (Bliss Blue - retired)
Tools/Embellishments:  Spellbinders dies (Classic Squares Large and Small, Standard Circles Large and Small, Petite Scalloped Circles Large), Staedtler brown fine tip marker, Glossy Accents

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
