Watermelon Hello
For my final project as a Guest Designer for The Kraft Journal Challenges, I let this week's Watermelon Challenge theme influence my choice of colors for this card and for the image I used. The card base for this Flip Card is a piece of Lunch Bag Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock. I first saw this fun fold on YouTube in this Flip Fold video by France Martin. The digi image was colored with Copic markers and die cut before being double matted on red and green cardstock. Instead of using patterned paper, I stamped the red cardstock in a random pattern with red ink and then randomly made lots of white dots all over this panel. The sentiment was stamped on a tag and tied with pieces of Red Baker's Twine and Dark Green Baker's Twine.
The black scalloped circle frame was accents with Enamel accents. As you open the card, the image panel rotates to flip through the front opening and be visible on the inside.
There is room inside for a message. This finished card is standard A2 size.
Supplies:
Cardstock: The Kraft Journal (Lunch Bag Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock), Bazzil (red, green), Georgia Pacific (white)
Stamps: Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps digi (Kiwi Koala's Watermelon), Mark's Finest Papers clear stamps (Dogwood Blossoms), Flourishes clear stamps (Berry Sweet Frame)
Ink: Versafine (Onyx Black, Crimson Red)
Copics:
Tools/Embellishments: The Kraft Outlet ( Red Baker's Twine and Dark Green Baker's Twine), Stickles (Star Dust), Spellbinders dies (Standard Circles Large and Small, Petite Scalloped Oval Large), Stampin' Up tag punch, Uniball Signo white gel pen, Ranger Enamel Accents (white), Gelly Roll black gel pen

Floral Hello
Tomorrow starts another challenge at the Word Art Wednesday Challenge blog. One of our generous sponsors for the next challenge is The Paper Temptress. This site has some truly unique papers. The owner sent the design team some fantastic papers to use on our projects. I used 3 of them on tomorrow's project but when I was done with it I still hadn't had a chance to play with a couple others. The main paper on today's card is called Laser White Glossy Lustre. Here's how this paper is described on the website:
After reading that, I couldn't wait to get out my inks and stamps and see the results. It is impossible to photograph exactly how cool this effect is. Truly, the ink does seem to slip below the stripes and does have a holographic look to it.This Lustre line has a kind of holographic effect and the ink actually "slips below the surface and the gorgeous finish "floats" on the top and creates an almost 3D effect! There is a different effect depending on which angle you look at your design. Truly amazing cardstock which will change the way you stamp and design and alone it is absolutely stunning!
I used Memento inks and a stamp set that had flowers of various sizes. I also used 2nd generation stamping to make it look like I used even more colors that I did. The sentiment is from the same set and is stamped on Cryogen White. This is an iridescent cardstock that is very Copic friendly. I will try it with my Copics on another day. :) The shimmer from this cardstock goes so well with the holographic effect of the Glossy Lustre paper. The ribbon also carries the shimmery theme a little further. I kept this card simple (for me) and just added a few rhinestones to the flower centers.
Supplies:
Cardstock: Bazzill (purple), Georgia Pacific (card base)
Papers from The Paper Temptress: Laser White Glossy Lustre , Cryogen White
Stamp set: Recollections (I can't find a name for the set)
Inks: Memento (Lilac Posies, Grape Jelly, Lulu Lavender, Rose Bud, Bamboo Leaves)
Tools/Embellishments: ribbon (Michael's), rhinestones (The Paper Studio), Spellbinders dies (Classic Oval Small, Lacey Ovals)
I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Eureka Stamps Challenge #86 - CAS
Pile It On Challenge #16 - No Patterned Paper (or make your own)
Scrapbook Blessings Club Challenge #18 - Anything Goes (featured technique - create a background scene)
Crafty Ribbon Challenge #85 - Anything Goes with ribbon
Paper Crafting Challenges - No Patterned Paper
Just B Creative Crazy - Anything Goes
Just Keep On Creating - Anything Goes
Going Gray with Scrap Creations - Anything Goes
Fan-tastic Tuesday Challenge #32 - Anything Goes
V's Sweet Ideas Challenge #22 - Technique Challenge (I used 2nd generation stamping and using stamps to make your own background/patterned paper)
I hope you will stop by The Paper Temptress and see some of the fantastic papers she has available. Many of them have to be seen (and/or felt) to be fully appreciated. Please come back tomorrow when I use 3 of her papers on a masculine project. One of the papers I used allows me to do a technique I've wanted to be able to do for a long time. Have a good evening.

Hello Friend
I saw the Scrapping Everyday Miracles July Sketch Challenge and thought it looked so fun. This weekend there was a challenge at Gina K Designs to use a floral stamp and a sentiment to make a card to encourage a friend. I decided to do both challenges in one card. I have a limited supply of GKD stamps but was able to use this fantastic dogwood flower I love this little flower stamp - it's so fun {and easy} to color I alternated the dogwood flowers with some of my Basic Grey papers.
Part of the sketch challenge was to use a pop dot on an embellishment. I cut out a trio of flowers from the patterned paper, colored the flowers with copics and popped them up on my tag. I added black Want2Scrap bling to the centers of all the pink flowers.
The background panel was embossed with an M'bossabilities folder,a ribbon was added and a fancy brad covers the ribbon knot. The background panel is attached to the card base with pop dots. The dogwood flowers, patterned paper squares and their mats are cut out with Nestabilities. I added a little faux stitching on the tag.
Supplies:
Cardstock: Express-It, Georgia Pacific, Bazzill
Patterned Paper: Basic Grey (Out of Print)
Stamps: Gina K Designs (Vintage Chic, Dogwood and Butterfly)
Ink: Memento (Tuxedo Black)
Copics: R81, 83, 85; YG03, 05
Embellishments/Tools: Spellbinders (M'bossabilities-Splendid B, Classic Squares Large & Small), brads (The Paper Studio), CM Black pen, Want2Scrap bling, ribbon (The Ribbon Boutique)
I'm entering this card in the following additional challenges:
Basic Grey Challenges #98 - Flowers
Pile it on Challenge #29 - Thinking of You/Just Because
Milk Coffee Challenge - Emboss It
Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge Blog #136 - Use black somewhere on your card (I have black bling as my flower centers)
Thanks so much for stopping by today. I appreciate you taking time to visit.

Precious and Few...
I've recently seen some cards with embossing on vellum or parchment and have wanted to give it a try. When I saw the 3rd door in the Door Inspiration challenge at MFP SpeedyTV, I knew the time had come. Here is my card inspired by that door.
I embossed the floral flourish on parchment paper with Versamark and opaque white embossing powder. I cut black door frames using my paper trimmer and also cut rectangles in each side of the gatefold card base. I used scortape to adhere the parchment panels to the black frames.
I adhered these frames to the card front and used another set of black frames to cover the opening on the inside. I added a pearl for the doorknob to each gatefold panel.
For the inside, I embossed sentiment and another flourish on white cardstock with black embossing powder and matted it with a floral oval. A few pearls were added to the floral oval and one to the flower center. Since there is not much room for a note to the recipient, I thought in this case, the message could be written on the back of the card.
Supplies:
Cardstock: Georgia Pacific (white), Bazzill (black), Fiskar's Parchment Paper
Patterned Paper: Bo Bunny (Enchanted 6 x 6 pad)
Ink: Versamark
Stamps - Inkadinkado - Floral Flourishes & Expressions
Embellishments/Tools: Spellbinders (Petite Ovals Large, Floral Ovals), Stampendous Embossing Powder (Opaque White & Midnight Black), Queen & Co Pearls (snowflake)
I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
MFP SpeedyTV Inspiration Challenge #17 - Doors
Catered Crop - So Shapely {Die Cuts/Punches/Shapes)
Inky Chicks #7 - Anything Goes
Crafting When We Can #47 - Keep It Simple
Divas By Design - Pearls
Thanks for stopping by today. I hope the rest of your weekend goes well.
