A nice cover sent from Phetchaburi in Thailand with the complete set of 4 stamps issued in 2011 as part of the Thai Heritage Conservation project. They show various sights at the Muang Tam Religious Sanctuary in Buriram province. Print run of each stamp: 500,000. The cassia definitive is from 2010. Thank you, Terdsak!

Postcard from Thailand no. 5
A superb postcard showing the building of the railway station in the town of Hua Hin (pop. 85,000) in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. This railway station is arguably the most beautiful in Thailand, and the trains run through it to the south of the country and link directly with Malaysia.
The postage of 12 baht is covered by a nice set of four square stamps showing toy speedboats, issued on 5 October 2010 in a series commemorating the International Letter Writing Week.
Thank you very much, Terdsak!!

Cover from Thailand no. 3
A great cover received in December 2010 from Terdsak in Phetchaburi (central Thailand). The cover features a 15 baht stamp from a series devoted to the Chinese New Year celebrations. The original version, issued on 1 February 2008, has the nominal value of 5 bath, and the stamp used here is an overprint. The postage is complemented by two 1 baht definitives with the portrait of King Rama IX, the world's longest-serving current head of state and the longest-reigning monarch in Thai history.
The enclosed postcards shows views of Phra Nakorn Khiri, Holy City Hill, overlooking the town of Phetchaburi.
Thank you very much, Terdsak!!

Postcard from Thailand no. 4
A great card received from Terdsak from the town of Phetchaburi in central Thailand, capital of the Phetchaburi Province. It shows the Pa Lao-U Waterfalls in the province of Prachuab Khiri Khan, south of Phetchaburi.
The four definitive flag stamps were issued on 12 August 2010 as part of of the national identity set (which was also the topic of this year's UPAEP issues in Latin America). The other stamp shows cassia flower. Thank you very much, Terdsak!

Cover from Thailand no. 2
An attractive cover received recently from Bangkok, Thailand, with four 5 baht stamps showing eroded rock formations in the Pa Hin Ngam National Park in Chaiyaphum province. The stamps were issued on 2 July 2007 and are printed with special technique, leaving a natural stone touch on their surface (print run 1,000,000).
The other large stamps are in fact overprints, originally issued on 19 July 1998 with the values of 6 and 9 bahts, to commemorate the International Year of the Oceans. They show Dugong dugon and Physeter cotodon. This version of the stamps is from 2008 (15 baht).
The rest of the postage is made up by a 2 baht definitive showing a portrait of the Thai king.
Thank you, Charlie!

Postcard from Thailand no. 3
Another superb postcard from Apichati in Thailand, showing a stone Buddha's head covered by tree roots in Ayutthaya, the former capital of Thailand founded in 1350, in 1991 designated a UNESCO World Heitage site.
The complete set of four stamps, issued on 7 October 2009, shows 4 horse-drawn carriages used in the reigns of King Chulalongkorn and King Vajiravudh. They are: 4-wheeled dog cart, postillion landua, C spring Phaeton and glass state coach. Thank you!

Postcard from Thailand no. 2
A truly exotic (at least for me) postcard received yesterday from Bangkok. It shows a twilight view of the local Chinatown, very impressive!
The stamps are the complete series of World Enviroment Day stamps issued on 5 June 2008, urging people to take care of the Earth (print-run 1 million each). Of interest is also the postmark with the year 52, i.e. 2552, since the Buddhist calendar started with the birth of Buddha 543 earlier that the Christian one.
Thank you, Apichati!

Cover from Thailand no. 1
My first cover from Thailand featuring an actual stamp (I have already received some Thai covers, but always with the label only). The letter was sent from Bangkok on 26 February 2009 and reached me 12 days later. The 5 baht stamp issued on 6 February 2009 shows a white rose signifying purity, friendship and tranquility (print run: 1,600,000). The fairly nice label covers the postage of 33 baht.
Thank you, Charlie.

Postcard from Thailand
5 different tuk tuks (a motorized version of the traditional rickshaw) on this nice postcard sent from Thailand in 2008.
The 15 baht stamp shows a sunsent over Ko Chang, Elephant Island, the second largest island in Thailand. There are nine more stamps in this Photos of Thailand series issued in 2008; pity that they are so small because the size does not do justice to the view. Thank you, Ratinan:-)
