a bee and a honeycomb, what a combo!!

I got the large bee stamp from Stampotique so I could use the wings to create fairies but now I own the Tim Holtz - Sizzix frameworks honeycomb die I just had to try out the whole bee!!  They make a great combination.

There's some more information about how I made this tag over on my blog

I'm happily adding this inky tag to my collection!!

a little Friday tag by Sarah

I really enjoyed playing with one of Roc's new images this week, the very appropriately named 'dog'!!  Roc's images are great for stamping onto pre-painted paper as they are such 'open' images.  I've just bought a couple of new ones!!!

You can head on over to my blog if you'd like to see some more images and find out how I made the tag.  Thanks so much for visiting,
Sarah

an art journaled tag

I had a bit of a play with my versamark inkpad this week.  I used it to create a different effect with my inky background, stampeding  'sometimes I pretend to be normal ...' repeatedly.  I heat set it then added dylusions inks.

Some splashing of water, and extra stamping and I was happy with my background for the artichoke monster.  I used an old map for my background journal page!

Thanks for looking, Sarah :)

my Stampotique February calendar pages by Sarah A

I am so pleased with myself...I've got beyond January with this year's calendar pages!  This is a first :)

To be honest, it's probably because I'm committed to posting here each Friday ... calendar pages are a nice project to share.  I also enjoyed the challenge of just using Stampotique images.

I decided to colour Peggy's face and hands, rather than paper-piece them.  Whilst colouring I discovered that she had a heart on her jumper ... I'd never noticed that before!

I was a bit worried that the white hearts stood out too much, but once they have writing on they 'tone down' a touch ...

... and I think I like it :)

a page in my art journal by Sarah

This square journal has lots of my favourite pages in, but some pages that I didn't like.  This one started off covered with torn text paper over which I'd rolled a marble dipped in paint.  I was trying out different things!!

Not liking it I gessoed over most of it, leaving some of the page with the original paint, and gessoed over it again, and again!  Some splatters of blue ink (because the bottle was a bit clogged up) and some transfer letters and I was beginning to like it!

Now there's a reason why you must never work on an extremely tidy desk (well, that's my excuse anyway!).... I had this bright pink painted paper nearby so stamped up a few 'time square' and added them to my page, along with some hydrangea punched flowers and an apt quote!!

Stack Those Birdies

For the clear challenge this week I've used acetate and stickles and water soluble pastels (which I didn't think would work on acetate but really do) :-)
I've used
Stack of birds
Row of Numbers
Fax To Wolfgang
Vintage Script
Banner
Can you believe the sun was shining the day I made this, hope it's shining for you today.
Thanks very much for looking x
