Tuesday with Val and a New Phone Case

Yesterday was Victoria Day in Canada and
Halifax was graced with a visit from Charles and Camilla!
I guess that got me thinking about the royal jewels
and inspired this new phone case!
I'll put more details about how it was created
on my blog.

Perfect Pairs Journal Page - Wednesday with Claudine

Hello everyone, I hope your having a wonderful week thus far. I love being able to pop in here half way through your work week and hopefully give you some inspiration for our weekly Designer's Challenges

This week the wonderful Kathi is challenging us to do some "Perfect Pairs", meaning two stamped images, two colors (other than black), two textures or pairs of embellishments.. just two things that go great together well

I have created a journal page and am using the following Stampotique Stamps -
Mela - By Daniel Torrent
Oliver - By Daniel Torrent

These two stamps, in my opinion, are a perfect pair, they look like they just go together and I love that about them

I used a paper towel and some distress paint to create my background for this journal page

I also added some torn book pages, gelato hearts, wash tape and some stenciling after my paint was dry (sorry, forgot to take a photo of this step)

I then stamped, colored (with distress markers) and cut out my Mela and Oliver

In order to make my Mela and Oliver stand out a bit more off the page I outlined them and then added black paint

I glued them directly on top of that and finished up my pages, have a look

I really am loving how they turned out and this is now one of my favorite ever journal pages
Thanks once again for stopping by and having a look, cheers to you!!

Fly Journal Page - Wednesday with Claudine

Happy hump day everyone! Wednesday means that your work week is half over and your over that work week Hump! Time to create and get into weekend mode!!
For today's post I wanted to show you something from Arwen's challenge. Check out the challenge over at the Desinger's Challenge Blog
Arwen has challenged us to use some Wings this week.

For me, this was an easy challenge, I really love, love, love anything with wings, birds, butterflies, bees etc... but for this challenge I decided to go with one of my favorite Stampotique stamps

Daniel's Tree Topper - By Designer Daniel Torrent

This little guy is so versatile and you can use him for so many wonderful projects. Since he's got wings, I used him to FLY today.
I created a page in one of my smaller journals for this challenge.

Thanks so much for taking time to come by the designers blog today. May you always FLY!!
As always, you can get full details on my blog

Tuesday with Val and a Cell Phone Case

Today I tried something new!
I have long admired the beautiful altered art cell phone cases I have seen online - so I finally made one!
I think this is the beginning of a new obsession!
What do you think my next one should be?
Thank you for stopping by,

Specially For You - Wednesday's With Claudine

Hello there, I hope you are having a wonderful week so far. I want to thank each and every one of you for your sweet comments each week and for stopping by and checking things out here on the Designers Blog. We truly appreciate your support

Over at the Designer's Challenge Blog we are continuing the "Stars" theme for one more week.
I hope you will join us for this challenge
I made another card to show you with the "Stars' theme in mind

I have used Stampotique Stamp:
Topknot - By Daniel Torrent

I used an embossing folder and some Dyan Reaveley spray for the background, I just love all the stars on this card

First I spritzed and then embossed

then I used Archival black ink to make that background pop

I colored "Topknot" with copic markers and cut her out and glued her to my white background

I have a friend with a birthday this week, I'm thinking she would enjoy this card
Thanks again for stopping by, I hope you will join us for the challenge
