mojo Monday 136

Hi there! Today we have a terrific mojo sketch for you and you have the choice of whether to make a circle or square card. Below you will find my sample and the sketch

Giving my Verve stamps some love today. I created my bg paper by stamping one of the images from the Accent Notes set repeatedly across my square and then sponged the edges with ink too. Rather than sewing today, I thought I would pierce around the square for a change.

Inside

I created the border strip by stamping with 2 images from Accent Notes and the sentiment is from Because of you.

Supplies:
stamps- Verve stamps Accent Notes, Because of You
Paper- Paper Temptress blanc sparkle, noir sparkle, mountain rose glimmer
accessories- circle nesties, black pearls, fleur de lis punch- EK Success, PTI satin ribbon sweet blush, paper piercer

Stop on by the mojo Monday blog for details on this week's sketch and some great inspiration.

Hugs and blessings to you all!!

Blingy Tilda

Hi there! Let me just say that I LOVE everything that sparkles, shimmers, and shines! However, I did not originally plan for my card today to have so much bling lol.

I chose to make an easel card again (LOVE them) and it is for my friend Kathy. I was blessed to be able to stamp some of her Tilda images (today's included) and now I am hooked. I even placed my first Magnolia order today also. So, rather than the sentiment saying "you inspire me" it should say you enable me lol. Just kidding...Kathy does inspire me with her awesome work and you should definitely visit her blog. Anyway, dinner Tilda is colored with copics, stickles added to the outfit, rhinestones for the jewelry, and white gel pen for accents. I masked off the swing to create a scene with clouds. To make the clouds I used a piece of acetate as a stencil that I die cut with a scalloped oval and sponged ink over it. I colored some of the bridal flowers with my copics and blinged them up too.

Supplies:
stamps- dinner tilda, verve thoughtful florals and thankful accents, High hopes swing stamp
paper- DCWV citrus pack, pumpkin, neenah white from paper temptress
accessories- rhinestones, copics, oval and circle nesties, sewing machine, bridal flowers

Challenges that I am entering this card in:

Just Magolia- sketch and thank you twist
Magnolia Stamp Lovers- to create a scene
Magnolia Down Under- masking
SCS Ways to use it- patterns
ABC Challenge- S is for sparkle (got this one covered I think lol)
KL Stampin N Scrappin- bling
The Crafty Pad- stitching
Dutch Dare- easel card w/ repeat twist (I repeated flowers)

Thanks for looking and have a fabulous day!

Mojo Monday 134

Hey there, mojo Monday comin at you all full force today. This week the sketch is brought to us by Teresa. Below is the sketch and my sample, hope you like it.

It has been awhile since my Verve stamps have gotten any love. Up until now I have not had much craft time so I needed to make sure that I fulfilled my Sweet N Sassy DT commitments. But, I have got some surprises in store for you over the next couple weeks since I have been stamping away at Korin's house. So I stamped the sentiment and sponged around it while still in the die. I distressed all the edges with scissors and love how the white core of the CS shows through. Have not done distressing for quite some time either so this was a nice change for me too. The patterned paper is from My Minds Eye and I purchased it while on a shopping excursion with Korin here in PA.

Supplies:
stamps- Verve Wishing You
CS- ctmh hollyhock, My Minds Eye Home collection dp
accessories- leaf punch, crocheted flower, pearls, satin ribbon

Don't forget to visit the mojo Monday blog for some eye candy from the mojomakers. Hope you can play along with us this week.

I stamped the verse with chocolate ink and sponged around it with spring moss ink while still in the die. I also stitched around the edges with my sewing machine.

Supplies:
stamps- Verve stamps Ps 121:1-2
CS- PTI spring moss, dark chocolate, and dp. Paper Temptress poison ivy iridescent
accessories- satin ribbon, brown pearls, sewing machine, square nestabilities

Mojo Monday 98- contest week!

Happy mojo Monday everyone! I am glad you stopped in today because this week is our monthly contest week on mojo Monday. Julee will be giving away up to 7 Verve sets to the entries that are judged to be the most mojolicious. My sample and this week's sketch are below.

I have to admit that I seriously struggle in the masculine card department. So, I rarely make them as I am always tempted to use some sort of ribbon or sparkle on my cards and that really does not do the trick for a guy LOL. I have a very good friend though who is going through a difficult time right now and I really wanted to send a card to encourage him. My favorite bible verse is Jer29:11 and it has always encouraged me and I was hoping it would them too. I was thrilled when Verve released this set! Most of the time when I make a card I don't have a specific person or occasion in mind that I am creating it for but today's card was created for someone specific and I hope that they will like it. My friend and fellow DT member Sandy said that whenever she makes a card that she prays for the person she is creating it for and she inspired me to do the same.

I stamped the cross first with blue ink followed by the verse with chocolate ink over the top. I sponged around the scripture while still in the circle die. All the edges were distressed with scissors and basic grey dp works so well with this technique.

Supplies:
stamps- Verve Jer29:11
CS- basic grey granola dp, Paper Temptress hot fudge
accessories- brown brads, twill, circle nestabilities

Be sure to stop by the mojo Monday blog to get all the info on this week's contest. My fellow mojo makers also have some great samples to share with you to get you started.

Supplies:
stamps- Verve Because of You
CS- artichoke, plum, TAC Angelee dp

Mojo Monday Week 91

It's another mojo Monday coming at you with a cool new sketch from Julee. Today's sketch is for a tall skinny card which I do not typically make so I am broadening my horizons LOL! Take a look at the sketch and my sample below.

I stamped my flower image twice for a shadow effect- first with bordering blue and next with chocolate. I then sponged around it with pink while in the nestabilities using it as a stencil. I also stamped, colored and cut out one flower and layered it on top of my prima flower. The images are from my current favorite Verve stamps set- Because of You. I just love it!

closer view

Can you see the beautiful subtle sparkle from the blanc sparkle cardstock and bronze metallic from Paper Temptress? Also, the pink lemonade pop tones cardstock is an awesome match for SU pink pirouette and it is not retiring!

stamps- Verve stamps Because of you and Artful Elegance (sent)
CS- Paper Temptress bronze metallic, blanc sparkle, pink lemonade pop tones, SU dp

I stamped this beautiful flower image from Verve stamps with chocolate ink on Paper Temptress cryogen white cardstock and then sponged around it with soft sky ink using the nestie as a stencil. I absolutely LOVE this newly released "Because of You" stamp set from Verve. As a matter of fact I think it is my new favorite verve set!!! You might want to check it out.

CS- Paper Temptress Cryogen white, Cloud 9 dp, saffron
accessories- taffeta ribbon, circle nesties, rectangle nesties, Kaiser brown pearls

Check out the sketch and challenge details on the mojo Monday blog. The mojomakers have some pretty terrific samples to show you too.

Have you heard yet of Christian Paper Crafts Magazine? Well, it's this amazing new quarterly magazine that will be debuting August 1st and you've just GOT to check it out! I am so excited about what God is doing and I hope you will join me in supporting this fantastic new magazine. I am so blessed to be on the design team for it!!

Cindy Coutts, the servant in charge of the magazine, has also set up this fabulous new CPCM forum. This new forum has all kinds of great discussions both spritual and craft related plus weekly challenges! I am the weekly hostess of the Color Monday challenge and Korin Sutherland and Chris Dickinson of SNSS are also hosting challenges so you must check it out!

So my mojo card today is also for the first color challenge that I am hosting. In the future I hope to be able to have separate cards for the challenges but there will be weeks when things are busier and I won't be able to do that. Since I was away last week, it was one of those busier weeks LOL. Anyway your first color challenge is to use the colors:

chocolate chip (dk. brown)
soft sky/baja breeze (light blue)
saffron (yellow)

I really like how these colors look together and hope you will enjoy creating with them too. Please check out the challenge post in the CPCM forum for further information and hope you will be able to play along!

Mojo Monday Week 74

Hi there everyone, welcome to another mojo Monday and terrific sketch from Julee. Here is my sample and the sketch for you.

Well, I have to start out by telling you that this card seriously took me forever!!! This was one of my five longest cards to make I think. I had a mishap and my copic marker started oozing and ink was everywhere so I had to start over. Then I thought I would try to do something a little new and do the paper tole technique with more layers than I normally would. The cutting out was a little long and tedious and too time consuming for this super slow cardmaker. Anyway, after all the time I took making it, I can't say that I am thrilled with it as the idea I had in my head did not come out on the paper the way I envisioned it. Did you ever have that happen and if so isn't it aggravating LOL? Enough chatter, on with the details. I stamped the bird and balloons 4 times and colored them with copics and then cut them out and layered the pieces with pop dots. I used angel wings shimmerz on the balloons, hat, and wing of the bird. I also used coal shimmerz to paint the brads and the black mattes. I have to admit that took a while to paint all the edges. I added tiny rhinestones to accent the tail and feet.

Supplies:
stamps- Verve birthday surprise
CS- silver swirls lustre, soft sky dp, white, black
accessories- coal and angel wings shimmerz, rhinestones, copics (BG10, BG72, BG75 (this is the one that exploded)), double sided satin ribbon, paper piercer, black brads, circle punch, pop dots

Don't forget to stop by the mojo Monday blog and check out the terrific samples from the mojo makers.

Hope you all have a wonderful day! I need to cook and clean now since the pastor and his wife are coming over my house for dinner tonight and hopefully I can get all the ink off of my fingers LOL. I made sauce and meatballs last week so we are having lasagna- yum!

Mojo Monday Week 73

Just another manic Monday and another awesome mojo Monday sketch for you from Julee. Here is the sketch and my sample for you:

I stamped my image and colored the heart with my R46 copic marker and then painted it with royal red shimmerz paint. I punched the corners with my scallop corner punch, matted it and then accented the corners and some of the swirls with tiny clear rhinestones. I stamped my bg with the border stamp from artful elegance by Verve with black ink and the bottom portion is accented with 3 red rhinestones given to me by my friend Michelle in Oregon- thanks girl!! I ran my red satin ribbon through the silver ribbon slide and trimmed the edges. I finished my stamping by sentiment with red ink and then matting it.

Supplies:
stamps- Verve stamps Hearts on Fire and Artful Elegance
CS- red, white, black
accessories- royal red shimmerz, rhinestones, Marvy corner scallop punch, red satin ribbon PTI, silver ribbon slide SU, R46 copic marker

Double sketch day with prizes

Happy Monday! Today I have 2 card samples for you using two different sketches and there is a prize associated with each. First up is the weekly mojo Monday sketch brought to you by Julee Tilman, owner of Verve stamps. Once a month there is a prize awarded to 2 people whose creations Julee finds to be the mojoest. This is a judged contest and you can find out all the details and see the other mojo makers samples on the mojo Monday blog. But first take a peek at the sketch and my sample:

As soon as I saw this newly released scripture stamp from Verve stamps I knew I had to have it. This is my favorite verse and one which I held onto when I was going through a difficult time 9 years ago. Anyway, I first stamped the cross image and then stamped the scripture on top of it with navy ink then sponged the edges with the saffron that the cross was stamped with and also edged it with gold glimmer blingz shimmerz. I used my favorite cryogen white paper available at Paper Temptress. I just love the subtle shimmer is has and it is even thick enough to use as a card base as well. I sponged the prima with navy and then used gold glimmer blinz to accent the flower and the button and pixie dust blingz on the leaves. I used a spica glitter pen to accent the dots on my dp and added tiny gold pearls to the scallops.

Supplies:
stamps- Verve stamps Jer 29:11
CS- navy, saffron, cryogen white, basic grey granola dp
accessories- gold pearls, corner rounder punch, gold glimmer blingz, pixie dust blingz, MS branch punch, gold edge organdy ribbon, saffron button, gold cold

The second sketch is from Card Positioning Systems and Sweet N Sassy stamps is one of the sponsers this week. A random participant of this week's challenge will be drawn to win the floral fourishes stamp set from SNSS. In order to be in the drawing you need to post a comment with a link to your project on the CPS blog post. Check out the sketch and my sample.

I have recently shown you some cards using one of my favorite sets from Sweet N Sassy stamps called Love Blooms. Those cards have been Valentines and lovey type cards but I wanted to show you that this set is much more versatile and can be used all year long not just for Valentines. I decided to use one of the sentiments that come in the set to create a birthday card. One of my favorite colors of roses is coral so that is what I did here coloring the image with copics. I added some crystal effects to the vase to make it look like glass and used my spica glitter pen on the roses. I also used an oval nestie die as a stencil to sponge some blush ink around my vase to create a vignette. Some tiny rhinestones were added to the points of the top note die.

Supplies:
stamps- Sweet N Sassy stamps Love Blooms
CS- sweet blush, sorbet, white from PTI
accessories- rhinestones, copics (R20, R22, R24, YG 63, YG66, C1, C3), crystal effects, sorbet satin ribbon, oval nesties, SU top note die, spica glitter pen, swiss dots cuttlebug folder

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you will decide to play along with the challenges this week. I would love to see what you come up with! Have a wonderful, blessed day.

Janette
