It's time to do another challenge over at

Sparkles Christmas #184

Theme:  Gifts

I pondered on how to do gifts as a theme. I have stamps but I wasn't seeing a good design using them. So I went to my desk where my watercolor items are and I had some strips of water color paper so I took 2 strips and wet my watercolors - Altnew and Paul Ruben metallics and just laid colors down.. I let them dry for the day and then used My favorite thing stitch die, Simon says bow, and Stampin up bow.. I designed the gifts and embellished with diamond drills. I used snowflakes from Simon says and embossed them. I used DRS vertical sentiment and embossed it.. I added a piece of washi tape on the bottom for grounding the gifts.

Theme: April showers

For my card I used Simon Says heart stencil and Ranger ink to add the raining hearts. I got scraps and die cut the umbrella from My favorite thigs, and the boots from Simon Says. I cut the flowers off the boots. I added the hello spring from Simon Says and die cut MFT. with Stampin up ink.

Sparkes Christmas #182 - Thinking of you

Hello

We have a new challenge over at 

Sparkles Christmas #182

Theme: Snowman (or any snow person/gender)

I had fun creating this card. I had a star die from Simon says and I cut it out and then took a circle and die cut to size to work with the wreath. I wanted the stars behind to stand out so I took a watercolored piece that was left over from a project and smeared Wink of stella over it and die cut and added behind the start piece.. Oh I used Ranger ink and blended the sky then added the star piece to the watercolor piece.

I die cut the Simon says wreath out of a scrap and then used Paper trey ink holly dies and die cut a bunch in white. Then used Ranger to color.. Added them around wreath. I colored the cardinal with Ranger and added it. The snowperson is Gerda Steiner and I colored with copics and fussy cut out and added to the wreath.. 

I didn't want a plain background so I used a Sizzix embossing folder and the birch tree.  I had these sentiments from Stampin up already done so I grabbed one I thought was good as the snowperson looks like it's looking at the bird.. 

I am pleased with how it came out.

We have a new challenge over at

Theme: Monochrome colors

I had a friend over and I was making cards for design teams I am on and she was just using my stamps and papers and creating. She made a card with this old red rubber Stampin up set.. And I said oh wow I need to create a card and dug through my scrap box (it's big) and found these scraps. Now to find a card base with that color.. found it. so I stamped and fussy cut the flowers and leaves. I used a zig zag die for the steam and used the Simon Says smile die which I stacked to make it sturdy.. I really like how it came out.

Theme: Hugs and Kisses

This was a fun card to create. I did a different scene and hated it so a day later I redid the scene and like it so much more. I used Ranger ink and my cloud template to create the sky. I stamped the My favorite thing pigs and flowers and colored with copics. I die cut the grass (MFT) from scraps. I saw this XOXO stamp from Simon Says and it had the years as one stamp so I used those. I then created the scene. I layered it on a piece of deep purple card stock and then a piece of DCWV dp

Theme: Halloween colors

Halloween isn't my thing but I sure love the colors.. I used a scrap base and used a Stamp camp over all stamp for the marble background using Stampin Up ink.. I then stamped the sails from a stampin up set in SU ink and cut them out.. Arranged into pin wheels and added a button to the centers.. haven't used buttons in quite awhile and I like the look vs. die cutting a circle. the sentiment is from Simon says  and used a Tech. Tues banner die.

I am using the image called Koala Hugs.. I colored him with copics and added my clouds with Ranger ink and using my cloud template. I used My favorite things and Simon Says dies to cut out. I used an embossing folder to create to background and swiped gold ink over the top to give color and show the details. I added the embossed sentiment.

I used scraps to create to waves and sun.. This is a stampin up die. I hardly ever use it and I see a lot of cards using this die for different looks.. I also used Stampin up ink to stamped the boat. I finished with some Simon says sea gulls.. The sentiment if a red rubber with no name and I used a Tech. Tues. die.

Theme - Chocolate

I thought about this theme for awhile... but thought my not use chocolate as a color vs. candy.. I love dark chocolate and I had some on my desk but not as a stamp.. lol... 

I used DCWV and paper as the background.. I stamped the Simon says ice cream and colored with copics. I used a Paper trey ink fancy circle die.  finished with a Tech. Tues. banner which I stamped the Simon says sentiment.

It's my brothers birthday so Happy Birthday to him... although he will probably never see my blog.. lol

It's time for a new challenge over at

Cardz 4 Galz #254

Theme: Wedding or anniversary

Perfect timing for this challenge as my grandson is getting married in August. So this is the card I created. The papers are stampin up and then I needed something for the front so I stamped Simon Says image and colored with copics.. I had a trial getting the colors to not be so bright but I remember Kelly Taylor (I watch on YT and love her coloring, style and fun story time) she says to use gray to tone it down and it worked. I am really pleased and glad I remembered her mentioning to do it.  I stamped the Mr. and Mrs. on front and added some diamond drills. I used a crop a dial to do the corners.

Hello it's time for another challenge over at

Theme: Sparkle and bling

I made this quite awhile ago but didn't post it as I got the theme wrong when I thought it was getting posted. Glad I caught it before I posted it..  I did heat embossed the Comotion stamp and then using water colors from Mission gold created the colors then went with the Paul Reuban metallic paints to add shimmer, I wish you could see it in person. I added some diamond drills left over from my diamond paintings.. I added the sentiment.

Hello and where did June go???

We have a new challenge over at

Theme: F - feathers

I used a lot of scraps for this card. I dug out my Stampin up punch and created the owl and branches. I used Taylored Expressions and created the clouds and used Ranger in to color. I used Simon says feather die and finished with some punched SU flowers which I put a left over diamond in from my diamond paintings.. I added to a scrap of Quick Quote piece. I added the Sweet shoppe sentiment sticker.  I also used black diamonds for the eyes

Theme: Include Merry 

I still had some of this beautiful paper from Quick quote so used it for the background. I used some card stock and die cut the Simon Says sentiment out about 4 times and layered.. I have some gold sparkle ink and tapped it on the sentiment and set is aside to dry out. later I added the sentiment and tapped ever so lightly the ink again as it soaked in. I added some gold gems. In person this is really pretty. Computer doesn't do it justice..

I am using the image called Netflix and chill.. I colored with copics ad used a flower stamp for the background wall but kept it very light so it's just a hint of design. I thought they needed gray hair as that's the way hubby and my hair is.. lol old married couple and love the Tim Holtz sentiment.. I am sure we have both had that feeling..  I used My favorite things die and backed on black scrap. I dug through more scraps and found this soft background flower piece.

Hello

We have a new challenge over at

Alphabet challenge

Theme: C - for circles

I have this circle die from Simon says and don't use it enough.. so I thought what can I do???  I found a nice soft color piece of designer paper and I used the circle die (it's one piece that cuts all the circles out, they are linked together) I then took the piece out and used Ranger ink to darken the circle piece.. now what??? I tried different background papers and love the purple Stampin up piece best so I glued down the yellow and inserted the circle die back in. I then looked at my saved circles from scrap box and added the few circles to different holes. I wanted a flower so looked at the Paper trey ink dies I have and decided on this one. I cut out of white and used Ranger ink to add some colors. I added it and added some My favorite thing and Stampin up leaves. I finished with the hello and some Nuvo drops.

I wasn't sure what to do as I don't have Christmas stockings... But digging through my Christmas box I found this sock from Simon Says and the cat from Mama Elephant and so I stamped them and colored with copics. I used a My favorite things circle die and used DCWV dp tree background..
