{Bearing Gifts...} TCP Tuesday 139

Merry Christmas to you all!!!

It is our very last 2010  TCP Tuesday challenge and this weeks' challenge is a sketch challenge, cooked up by our Hipster Hostess Alma. Play along for a chance of winning $25 in Cat Cash and being crowned the Swankiest Stamper of the month!!! For all the deets please stop by Alma's Blog HERE.

Ouh and before I forget...here's the sketch:

I did something a little bit different this week: I used the sketch to decorate the gifts I'm giving to my hair stylist and my pilates instructor. Wanna know what's in it? Trader Joe's sea salt covered dark chocolate caramels...ooh they are SOO good!!! lol
I got the idea for the gift wrapping from my very talented and clever SFYTT Sister Megan Lock. She made this cutie here for last week's SFYTT challenge.

Tips'n Tricks: to get that full beautiful flower-like medallion cut out two lotuses and simply layer them on top of each.

Here are some detail shots from my project:

Thank you so much for stopping by and Happy Holidays!!!

{Thinking of You...} SFYTT

Hi Everyone,

it's time for our last SFYTT challenge for this year...my where did the time go?! This week you get to pick one of your favorite SFYTT sketches from the past and make a new card with it!

And as promised we are doing things a wee bit different next year: instead of a weekly sketch we will do a monthly sketch challenge instead. That gives all of us a little bit more time to play along. We will continue to have sponsors for some if not even all months so stay tuned and check in with us to see what goodies you can win.
We're also saying good-bye to our dear friend and sister Jenn D. and hello to our new sister Kerry Johnson. I think those are all the changes we have for you.

I'm sad to say I had to make a sympathy card this week: one of our Seniors from church passed away and the funeral is today. He wasn't feeling all that well and had to go to the hospital but I don't think anybody in his family expected him to go just yet ...especially now with christmas just being around the corner...but then we never know God's timetable, the only thing we do know is that he knows best and everything happens for a reason.

I don't have all that many sympathy stamps but thankfully Julee's set Kind Words comes with a thinking of you, a with sympathy and some beautiful silhouetted flowers that I could use. I really need to get me her Forever In Our Hearts set.
I felt that my flowers needed a little spark to them so I added some Crystal Effects, Liquid Pearls and a Rhinestone for that last sparkly touch :).

thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to stop by my sisters to see which sketch they chose to recycle :)

{Twinkle, Twinkle} Mojo 168

Hi everyone,
I'm very excited because my very first official Term in the CG program is coming to an end and 3 of my final projects are done...I only have 1 more left to work on...which also means I have more time to stamp....YAY!!! Well this week at least...I'm going out of town next week. Wow...this year has really flown by hasn't it?! I can't believe it's almost 2011 already!!

So I got to play along with this week's Mojo Monday sketch!!
Super fun and totally needed because a friend of mine just had her little baby girl. In case you're wondering why I chose these somewhat un-typical baby colors you'd have to meet my friend and it would all make sense to you. lol
You'll notice I made a little change to the sketch by replacing the little square
with a circle to accommodate my stamp.

thanks so much for stopping by,

~ Sony

{Sugar'n Spice} TCP Tuesday 138 & Mojo Monday

Hi everyone,

it's TCP Tuesday time and Susan is our hostess with the mostess this week and she's challenging us to use any Cat's Pajamas Holiday Stamps!!!

I dug through my Cat's Pajamas' stash and came across one of my all-time favorite clearly swanky winter-y set: Candyland Christmas.
I have a wee bit of a sweettooth sooo anything candy related and then with Sprinkle, Poochie and the little rascal-y penguins to boot...how can you say no?!

It's also been ages that I've been able to play along with a Mojo Monday challenge so I'm very happy to say I was able to play along with last week's sketch.

Here are all the deets:
1. Each a week one of The Cat’s Pajamas DT members will host a challenge.
2. The challenges will vary {stamp, technique, color, theme, sketch, etc.}
3. You will have until the end of the month to complete the challenge.
4. Link to your post using the Inlinkz button at the bottom of Alma's blog post.
5. TCP stamps are not required, but of course, highly encouraged. {Unless it is a challenge calling for a specific stamp}
6. There will be one winner each month. They will be deemed that month’s Swankiest Stamper and get $25 in Cat’s Cash {money to spend on the TCP site!}.
7. Only designs posted to Alma's blog will be considered for the Swanky Stamper.
8. The newly crowned Swanky Stamper will be announced on the First of the Month and have his/her winning entry posted on The Cat’s Pajamas website where he/she will reign for the entire month.

thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Holidays!!!

@ the LA Zoo

Hi guys,

well my storyboarding class went to the Zoo this morning, to practice sketching from live animals and I took my camera along to take some pictures for reference so I thought I'd share some of those moments with you all.

Have you ever seen a pregnant Meerkat? Meerkat #3, all the way to the right is expecting :)

...and yes that is duct tape around his foot...who knows what happened there

being a Koala Bear must be tough...

 and that's all folks :)

til next time,

Sony :)
