The Crafts Meow January Sketch Challenge

Ahoy out there! Okay I don't know why I chose to open with "Ahoy" other than I always seem to flounder when I'm trying to decide how to open my post, lol! Oh well, mission accomplished...my blog post has been opened;)

I had some time today to play with The Crafts Meow's January sketch!

Here's my card using "Fly Free" by TCM...

The papers are from MME, as usual, I forgot which line, lol. All my paper pads are all over my stamp room right now, it's a disaster! I used some Prima flowers, some lace, and Buttercream twine from The Twinery!

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you're having a wonderful weekend:)

SCRS Challenge #71--Sketch time!

It's time for another Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps challenge! This week, we have a fun sketch to play with, check it out!

scrsc71

Here's my sample using the newly released Fashion Karber set!

I colored the image up with my Copics and then cut it out with a spellbinders oval die.  I couldn't get the sentiment I wanted to use to work on that sentiment panel in the sketch, so I cut it out with an oval punch from SU! instead. It's still pretty true to the sketch! The papers are from BG's Picadilly line, which I LOVE!

You ready for more inspiration? Check out with the other girls came up with!

Deconstructed Sketch #23-Holly Jolly Christmas!

Time for another Deconstructed Sketch Challenge! I have another Christmas card to share with you today:) I don't know why, but I've really been in the mood to create Christmas cards lately. Not much sense in it for me since my home will be on a boat on it's way to the US and I won't have any way to mail them out, unless I want to mail them out by November 5th, which I don't. LOL! Anyhoo, sorry to ramble! Here's our sketch for this week--

Some sketches just work, kwim? You can just visualize what you want and it works! Almost all of Jen's sketches work like that for me. This one is one of those sketches:)

I bought a few Tiddly Inks last week, and colored them all up at once so all I had to do for this card was throw it together. This is "Lillie Claire-Sweet Christmas Dreams" How sweet is she? I colored her with Copics and then, after spending quite awhile coloring the candy cane *just right*, I covered it with Stickles, lol! Oh well, I love a shiny candy cane! The sentiment is from PTI and the papers are from Basic Grey's Nordic Christmas line.

So, I think I mentioned {a few times} that I'm getting ready to move back to the US! We're moving to Phoenix and we'll be leaving Okinawa on November 12th. So, all of our house will be packed up and shipped to the states on November 7th. Since my stuff will be somewhere on the Pacific Ocean until mid-to late January, I will be taking a short break from the Deconstructed Sketch team. I'll be back as soon as I get my new house all set up and have a scrapbook room again! I will still be here for the rest of October, but starting November, you won't see much from me. In the mean time, check this out:

**Do you love sketches? Would you like to be a guest designer for The Deconstructed Sketch? Jen is holding a contest using this week's sketch to find a VERY SPECIAL designer to guest with us from November 3, 2011 to January 26, 2012. That's THREE months designing with the Deconstructed Sketch Girls! If you are interested all you need to do is make a card using this week's sketch and add your card to InLinkz on Jen's blog by October 19, 2011 at 8 pm CST and add GUEST to the end of your name when linking up. If you are selected Jen will contact you regarding the specific duties for the three month term.**

Be sure to hop around and check out what the rest of the Deconstructed Sketch Design Team has made!

SC300-Celebrate!

There is REASON to celebrate on Splitcoast this week! It's the 300th sketch challenge in the Sketches Forum! Wow, 300 sketches is ALOT of inspiration! I know I adore these sketches, Roxie and her pals do a great job coming up with sketches every week! This week, there are tons of PRIZES to be won just by playing along! See THIS THREAD for deets!
Sorry about the horrible picture, my camera does not love me today!
Here's my submission using "Make a Wish" by Taylored Expressions! I just love this set! The best part is, Taylor is donating money from each set sold to a children's charity.
So I've seen the DT and Taylor herself whipping up amazing cards with this awesome cake and it just made me want it so bad! So guess what came in my mailbox today?:)
The dp is from Pixie-licious by Cosmo and the cardstock (Ripe Avacado, Plum Pudding, Lavendar Moon) is all by PTI.

Thanks for stopping by today! Come on back tomorrow for my Farm Fresh Friday project!!

Freaky Friday!

I gotta tell you, I'm LOVING my new Creepers from TGF! Friday especially, she is SO darn fun! I wanted to use her today even BEFORE I saw the challenge up on CMC this weekend! This weekend's challenge is coloring CURLY hair! Amy has a fantastic tutorial that you simply MUST check out! I needed practice coloring red hair anyway so I used the same colors she used on her tutorial for my Friday card:)

I used the Saturday Sketch on Club Anya & Friends for the layout and some fun MME paper coupled with Cajun Craze (FABULOUS color) and Dark Chocolate!

I sponged some Wheat and Pumpkin Versamagic chalk ink on the image while it was still in the rectangle Nestability and then sewed around it.

That's all I have today! Hopefully I'll be back tomorrow with another Critter Crew sneak peek from TGF! We have a typhoon coming so I'm hoping we still have internet tomorrow!

Thanks for stopping by:)

CPS 176-Wicked!

Good morning! I hope your week is going well, and if you're HERE it means your BLURFING and that ALWAYS leads to a good day:) I loooove to blurf! So many fabulous blogs, so much inspiration!

I found this week's CPS Sketch #176 and LOVED it! Isn't it fab? I pulled out a super fun Cheeky for this one, Cheeky Nurse!

How sassy is she? I think the reason I love the Cheeky's so much is that they resemble Marilyn Monroe somehow, lol! Especially when you color their hair blonde, spitting image!

These are the Copic colors I used to color her in! The papers are from OA Thrift Shop (I have this paper pad sitting on my desk and can't stay away from it!)
The sentiment is from the Roll Call kit!

Photobucket

Don't forget about the Dare to Get Dirty 2010 Challenges going on through Friday on Splitcoast! Click on the graphic above to see the challenges (must be a SCS Fan Club member to see this forum!)

Sweet Sunday Sketch: Happy EVERYTHING!

Hi:) I have another quick card to share!  As soon as I saw this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch by Karen Giron I really wanted to try it out! It's got so many fun layers I knew it would be a blast!

Mostly, my cards are A2 (4.25x5.5) but this card is a long and skinny! Since I don't do these, like ever, I stuck with Karen's measurements, 6.5" square, scored in half!

Don't ask me why, but for some reason I've really been itching to use this SU! set for a few days now. On a Pedestal was one of my favorites from the last catalog, yet I have probably used it maybe twice? I don't know why, it's totally cute!
I paired it up with this fun paper by Making Memories called "English Garden".

Also, added some Ice Stickles to the cake, just because a card isn't finished until it glitters like the sun! LOL!

Thanks for stopping by today!! I'm off to curl up with a good book for an hour before bed:)

2S4U #56-Let Freedom Ring!

Hiya! I have a quick card tonight because it's past my bed time! LOL!

I saw this sketch from 2 Sketches 4 You and LOVED it! The simplicity is just what I needed tonight. I've been helping my sweet husband with a power point presentation for his class tomorrow and it took pretty much all my creativity out of me today, lol! BUT as soon as I got going with this sketch, my mojo returned:)

2 Sketches 4 You is being sponsored by Sassy Studio Designs this week. I looooOoove these digi stamps SO MUCH! I recently bought 4th of July Honey and colored her up on the 4th of July planning to create with her, but time got away! So lucky me, I already had this fun image colored and ready for a card!

Isn't she a hot lil thang? How can you make a stamp so beautiful, I don't understand, lol! The artists are really FABULOUS!

I bought the digital paper from Sweet Shoppe Designs and printed a piece out. The cardstock is Pacific Point (SU!) and Pure Poppy and White by PTI. The fabulous sentiment is from my new favorite stamp set EVAH, American Hero by Verve!

Thanks for stopping by today, I'll more than likely see you tomorrow:)

Color Combo/Sketch Challenge

Today I have a card I created for Yesterday's Color Challenge and Today's Sketch Challenge on Splitcoast! The colors are GORGEOUS together and the sketch is just plain FUN! And what's more, my girl Christy found it for us!! Great find my girl, totally fun sketch!
Here's my card using Always on my Mind by Verve!
I adore these colors together! Baja Breeze, Rich Razzleberry, and So Saffron! The dessert was to use grids, which was perfect cause there is this grid pattern in the Rich Razzleberry dsp pack!
The flower stamp is from Feel the Sun by Verve, a GORGEOUS flower if I do say so myself!
I added some machine stitching, Baja ribbon, and bunches of scallops to round the card out. Love this sentiment, don't you? Perfect for any occasion or just because:)

Thanks for visiting me today! Hope you have a wonderful day!

Kraftin' Kimmie Mermaids

I colored Aurora by Kraftin' Kimmie yesterday and put her on a card today! I used the Kraftin' Kimmie sketch challenge as my inspiration, and LOVE the sketch!
This card is quite big, 5.5x5.5! I had to make it big for that mermaid though, they're enormous and gorgeous!
I colored her with Copics! I meant to sponge only a *little* purple ink around her but I got one big glob on there so I had to smooth it out and kinda ended up with more than I wanted, lol! It's all good though, I like how it turned out!
The paper is all by PTI, except for the white which is GinaK. I added more Stickles on Aurora's fins and on the stars in her hair. Also added some lovely Zva gemstones, LOVE THESE! They really add sparkle to your projects!

Hope you all have a wonderful 4th of July!!!!!!! I can't wait to see some fireworks tonight! Lucky me, they put them off right across the street from me so we can just watch them from the yard:)

A bowl of Cherries...

Doesn't that sound yummy? I love me some cherries, especially the flathead cherries I used to get back home in Montana...mmmmmm!

Well, the next best thing to Flathead Cherries is this month's Caffinated Cropper kit, With a Cherry On Top! Buy it HERE! I got mine in the mail today, and as promised, tore into it IMMEDIATELY! Seriously, wow. I am just speechless with all the goodies in this kit, you could may 100 cards with all the stuff in this kit!
The pink and floral paper is the same sheet of paper by Little Yellow Bicycle! LOVE this paper, I think I wanna hoard the rest, lmbo! The only thing on this card NOT in the kit is the card base and the Regal Rose ribbon! That beautiful stamp is so fun! It actually comes with a few more elements and it's all one big ole beautiful stamp but I cut it apart so I can use all the bits and pieces seperately if I want to:) I used to be TERRIFIED of cutting stamps up, but now I am hooked! You can get a lot more mileage out of a stamp set by cutting it apart and using the different images alone or with other images! After I tied my ribbon bow, I added some of the super fun flowers to the bow center, I love how it turned out!

The buttons also come in the kit! Yeah, I adore buttons, can never have to many, EVER! Oh, the twine is from PTI...

If the layout looks familiar, it's this weeks sketch challenge on Splitcoast! Speaking of challenges, Amy has issued a challenge for you if you're interested! Just purchase a "With a Cherry on Top" kit, use it on a card for ANY challenge you find online (sketch challenges count!) and link it up to her post for your chance to WIN! Head on over to Amy's Blog to see the deets:)

Beautiful You

At last, my Verve card:)
I played in today's sketch challenge on SCS! This was a super fun sketch challenge, if you have time, head over to the thread and PLAY!
I wish the colors in my photo were better, but it's a little yellow:( Bad lighting, that's what I blame it on!
I pulled out Beautiful Kindness and Celebrating You by Verve for this sweet little card:) Aren't those butterflies fun? There is also a smaller butterfly in this set, which I started with, but they were much too small and it made this card really unbalanced. I'm very happy with how it turned out with the bigger butterflies (I used to call them birdieflys when I was a kid, how funny!) And I realize maybe the buttons are overkill? But ya know what, I love them and that's all that matters, lol! The sentiment (from Celebrating You) was cut out with my large oval punch (SU!) and layered on a fun tag die from spellbinders! I love how easily the ribbon slides through the flourishes:) The gorgeous paper is from Mellissa Frances, so dreamy and perfect!
Okay, that's it for me! Christy and Lee should be here in couple hours to pick up there pups so I gotta round all their stuff up:)
Have a fabby day, ya'll!

Mojo...Wednesday???

It is THIS week;) This week has been so strange, it seems so long yet I can't believe tomorrow is already Thursday! I had completely forgotten about the Mojo sketch so when I happened upon Mojo Monday 116 today, I was so very happy! It's a SUPER fun sketch, I loved working with it!
I pulled out a Verve Christmas set from last year's Holiday release, this one is called Poinsetta Christmas and is on sale for only $8.oo!! I used some more of my precious Green Tea Leaves dp by PTI for this card, as well as Rustic Cream (the new white!), Riding Hood Red, and Ripe Avacado! I added some white Kaiser pearls to the poinsetta's and green circle and some Ripe Avacado ribbon:) I can't wait to give this card away, I love it so much!
If you're looking for a fun sketch to jump start your creativity, head on over to the Mojo blog and dig in! This week Julee has a CONTEST and that means you could win some VERVE BUCKS! That's better than REAL MONEY!;)

WCMD! Not too shabby!

Doncha love it that there is a "holiday" all our own? I told my hubby that today is world card making day and that he had to make a card and well, it didn't go well! LOL! He just sighs and says "Honey, how about you make a card FOR me!" Okay, if you insist:D
I made this first card a couple days ago. I colored this sweet Ketto (Sake) in hopes of getting to use her for the Bellarific Sketch but it turned out that the challenge was a "Fall" card, no sketch at all so she doesn't really work for fall! Oh well, I went with it and made this card with this weeks 2S4U sketch!
The card base is Lavendar Moon by PTI and the dp is from the Basic Gray "Wisteria" collection!

My next card is for this weeks Viva la Verve sketch with a {twist} challenge! Here's the sketch:
The {twist} this week is to go shabby! I love the look and everyonce in a while I can pull it off, but more often I fall short, lol! My card that I made for this challenge turned out pretty cute I think.
The card base is Rustic Cream by PTI (a GREAT shabby color!) and I can't remember who makes the dp, it was a scrap I had laying in a basket for like a year, lol! The stamp set is called "Cupcake Affair" by Verve Stamps! I wanted my card to have soft colors, sewing, sponged edges, and a fun shabby stamp set:) The ribbon was just a perfect addition, so glad I found this is my never-ending basket of balled up ribbon, lol! I colored the stamp with Copics and included the colors for your reference...
Well, hope your WCMD goes by beautifully:) I hope to get to all the fun challenges on Splitcoast tomorrow! See ya then:)

SCS Sketch Challenge Wednesday

I finally got a SCS sketch challenge card done! I've been meaning to do these for the past few weeks and something always comes up, and then I forget! NOT TODAY though! As soon as I saw todays sketch I knew I had to make time, I love layers and this sketch has some super fun ones!
Sketch found HERE...
Here's my card:
How about that bright green? I wasn't sure I'd like it but I think it works! It's New Leaf by PTI and all the dp is Early Bird by Cosmo Cricket! FUN stuff, it's the new Mini Deck they released this past CHA. The smaller scale size is PERFECT for card-makers, I'm crazy about it:)
I used Who's that E-Girl by MFT and paper-pieced the wallpaper and couch. I colored the skirt, shirt, and bottom of the couch with prismacolors/gamsol and then colored her skin with my Copics.

Well that's all I have for today, thanks for stopping by! I'll be here tomorrow with UNITY!!!

Masculine Sketch Challenge

Well good morning friends *if you're out there! It's been quiet in blog land lately!*
Today's Sketch Challenge on SCS is FANTASTIC and my Father-in-Law just happens to have a bday coming up! Go figure, the girl with boxes FULL OF CARDS can't find a masculine bday card *rolling eyes*. Oh well, gave me an excuse to stamp:D
I pulled out some of my favorite old Papertrey Ink stamp sets for this one!

Making the card:
1-create card base out of 5.5x8.5 piece of cardstock (scored at 4.25)
2-cut piece of Spring Moss cardstock 1/8" shorter on both sides
3-Cut piece of dp from Everyday Blessing pack by PTI to another 1/8" shorter and adhere to Spring Moss piece.
4-Cut piece of dp from Everyday Blessing pack by PTI to 2x5.25 and cut with Spellbinders Piercabilities.
5-Stamp sentiment from Birthday Basics on dp.
6-adhere ribbon (from MM pack) and add 3 Rustic Wood buttons by PTI, tied with Jute string.
7-Stamp tree from Father Knows Best in ripe avacado and trunk in Rich Cocoa by Momento. Cut piece out, off center, with Giga Scalloped Square punch
8-Mount scalloped quare on dimensionals onto a slightly larger piece of chocolate chip cardstock. 9-Add Spring Moss circle behind the square and adhere everything down!

That's it, pretty easy!
Would you like to see why you shouldn't let your husband write on the inside of your cherished artwork?
Oh NO HE DI'INT! He wrote so huge that it SPILLED onto the pretty part! AARGH! LOL! He calls me in and goes "Honey, you are going to have to remake this card, I ruined it!" Hahaha! What a sweet man, I love him and I love his personal touches on my card, hee! I'll be sending this one out, just as it is:)

Hope ya'll have a wonderful Wednesday, the weekend is RIGHT around the corner *as is HIP HOP!*

Some yellow love!

Okay I'm on a yellow kick today! I've been really loving earthy neutrals lately, and pairing them with yellow and chocolate is just WHAMMO! Total love:)
This first card, I CASE'd Dawn's Blog Hop card seen in this post HERE. I was completely in awe of the layers of the background and had to recreate it. I loved it so much that I needed to use the same colors and stamps, lol! I also added the flower and sentiment from Friends 'til the End.
Don't you LOVE that? I can be arrogant about it because I didn't design it, Dawn did, lmbo! She's a genious and I had so much fun CASE'ing this card of hers!
My next card is for last weeks CPS sketch (CPS125)! I loved the layers and big ole' main panel circle! I also busted out a new SU! set called Herb Expressions. Whatcha think?
The dp is from the Ever After line by Cosmo Cricket (nope, still not out of it, so you'll be seeing more, lol!)
Man, I had fun with this one:) Rustic Cream cardstock, rustic buttons, jute string, it just doesn't get much better than that:D
What kind of yellow love would it be without a pic of my yellow lab? Luke! And I couldn't just post a pic of him, have to put his lil brother in there too, Jesse! Aren't they just the cutest thangs EVAH??? OMG I LOVE THEM!
Hope you're enjoying your day! My week has flown by and the weekend is near, so I'm a happy girl:) See ya tomorrow!!

Hello blog land! I have a Verve card to share today, w00t!

The stamps are from "Fluttering By" and is still one of my old faithful sets I go to alot! I just love the butterflies (can you tell I'm in a butterfly mood lately? LOL! Must be spring fever?) The colors are Lemon Tart and Spring Rain by PTI.
