Sweet Sunday Sketch: Peace on Earth

Good morning! I'm back today with another card! This one is for Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch and the Color Challenge on Splitcoast today!
Karen's sketches are so fun and I've loved them all, but I think this is my new all-time favorite layout. Ever. Seriously SO fun!
That middle pane is going to be REALLY fun to embellish, I can't wait to make another card with this sketch!
Here's my first one, which I really love!
I moved the scalloped edge panel to the top so I could hang my tag from the ribbon!
The paper is from Imaginisce and the fabulous tag stamp, snowflake, and sentiment are from "Glad Tidings" by Verve! That tag isn't hand cut by the way! Last month, Julee introduced DIES to the lineup! I am so crazy happy about this:) The first two dies were this Sweet Scallop Tag die and the Vintage Oval die!
I tied the bow with my Bow Easy (if you're looking for bow tying tutorials, I've got three on the very bottom of my blog, one of them is on how to use your bow easy to create these fun bows!)

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope your holiday preparations are going smoothly:) Billy and I decided to go out to eat for Christmas dinner since it's just the two of us! No mess, no shopping to do, no stress over burnt turkey, my kinda tradition;)

See ya tomorrow!

It's ALIVE!!!!!!!!

I finally got home after being away for a MONTH! Let me tell you, we had a TON of fun being with the families, but there is TRULY NO PLACE LIKE HOME!!! I got in LATE *midnight* Friday night and was super excited to see my sweet pups again! I missed them madly. I also missed my scrappy and stampy stuff MADLY!  You should have SEEN the mountain of boxes I had waiting for me, it was like CHRISTMAS! I ordered stuff the whole time I was gone and had quite the happy mail day on Saturday opening it all! Among my goodies are my new Verve stamps! *all new Verve is 15% off through 31 December!* I missed the release previews this month but got to work today with them because I couldn't WAIT to ink them up!

For my first card, I used this week's Viva la Verve! sketch hosted by Sankari! The Diva's are being so FABULOUS and giving me the month off of sketches this month and I'm LOVING what they're coming up with! Here's Sankari's sketch:
And here's my card:
I used the fabulous new set, "Text Objects" for this card. I stamped one of the text stamps over and over again on the background, in Rich Razzleberry ink. The sentiment and heart are also from Text Objects. I got the color combination inspiration from that little cork embellishment behind the heart! It's by Pink Paislee and I love these colors together:)

Up next is a card I created with Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge!

And my sample, using a new set called "Wordy Birds"!
Darn it I forgot who made that striped paper, I'll edit this post next time I go upstairs, I'm too lazy right now! I really love the cute birds in this set, they almost look like rubber duckies, lol! The card base is Aqua Mist and the yellow is Summer Sunrise (both by PTI).

Well that's it from me today! I'll be back  tomorrow with a Mystery Monday card for TGF!! See you then!

A couple challenge cards!

Good morning!
Today I was feeling full of Mojo and decided to tackle a couple challenges. The first one I knew I wanted to try was Mercy's Tuesday Sketch challenge! Only problem is, I left the vertical panel off, boo! I just completely brain-farted it! It's all good though cause my version didn't have any room, anyway, lol! But I still drew inspiration from this layout so I wanted to give credit where it's due:)
I used one of my new PI girls from MFT for this challenge. This one is Lil Pumpkin, isn't she cute? I colored her and the pumpkin in with Copics and then paper-pieced her dress. The papers are from a paper pack from the Michaels brand, "Recollections". I really love the colors and patterns in this stack and think I'll hoard the rest for next year, ha!

The next card I created today was for two challenges (go me!, lol!): Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #89 and the Gina K Color Challenge!
I really love black cards and don't do them often so I was determined to make this work! I stamped the flowers from Hugs and Prayers in Versamark and then clear embossed them. The rest is self explanatory. The bird and sentiment are from the same lovely set! I stamped the bird and then cut it out and mounted it on the card with dimensionals. To finish this card off, I distressed the edges, love that look:)

Well, that's all I have today, thanks so much for stopping by!
See you tomorrow!

Sweet Sunday Sketch, On Thursday!

I actually DID this card for Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge on SUNDAY, but I'm just now getting around to posting it:) So much to post, so little time!
I used my new "Well Read" by MFT! This is such a cute stamp set and PERFECT for my reading friends:)
As I mention, I used Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch for the layout! The card base is Fine Linen and the DP is from Thoroughly Modern by SU!

Sorry for the quick post, been a long day and I'm ready for bed! Friday here I come!!!

Sweet Sunday Sketch: Happy EVERYTHING!

Hi:) I have another quick card to share!  As soon as I saw this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch by Karen Giron I really wanted to try it out! It's got so many fun layers I knew it would be a blast!

Mostly, my cards are A2 (4.25x5.5) but this card is a long and skinny! Since I don't do these, like ever, I stuck with Karen's measurements, 6.5" square, scored in half!

Don't ask me why, but for some reason I've really been itching to use this SU! set for a few days now. On a Pedestal was one of my favorites from the last catalog, yet I have probably used it maybe twice? I don't know why, it's totally cute!
I paired it up with this fun paper by Making Memories called "English Garden".

Also, added some Ice Stickles to the cake, just because a card isn't finished until it glitters like the sun! LOL!

Thanks for stopping by today!! I'm off to curl up with a good book for an hour before bed:)

Something New?

Unfortunately, NOT for me:( I went over to Christy's house to stamp with her and Missy so I just loaded a bunch of stuff into my car, made a couple kits to create the following cards with using Jen D's SFYTT and Karen G's Sweet Sunday Sketch, and completely forgot that today is MONDAY and the Monday Chicks were creating something using NEW goodies! Well, besides the fact that I forgot, I really don't have anything new anyways, I've been on a spending freeze for the past 2 or 3 weeks so I could save all my money for my trip to the states! I leave on Saturday and I'm SO excited!
Even though there isn't new stuff on these cards, I'm posting them anyway:) I made the first two at Christy's house! Very productive day:)
This is the card I made using this weeks Sweet Sunday Sketch! I wanted an excuse to use Blooming Button Bits by PTI again:D The papers are from BG's Porcelein paper pack, I'm almost out of it, eek!
Next up is my card for this weeks SFYTT...
Still on a kick with my Melissa Frances paper! I can't get over how gorgeous these papers are, they just make me happy! And add to that the fact I used my favorite stamp set ever, Love's Flower by Verve, and used some gorgeous lace, I just adore this card!
This next card kicked my butt all day. You can ask Christy! I had it in my head all day that it was going to be masculine, what with the houndstooth and all, but after creating my cards for this months Dirty Dozen gallery (Which is open NOW!), I am BURNT out on man cards. Good thing I have 8 of them to last me through any I might need this year so I don't have to make anymore, lol! So after agonizing over what stamps to use on it, I decided it was going to be a girly card! I busted out my Bella Blossoms stamps and really love how this turned out:) Sometimes you just have to be in your own stamp room for stuff to turn out, lol! I am surrounded by my things, have my punches (which I didn't bring with me to Christy's house), and things just happen to fall into place:)
The houndstooth stamp is a scrapblock from Cornish Heritage Farms. I was lying in bed last night and all of a sudden, visions of Ripe Avacado houndstooth on Rustic Cream cardstock jumped into my head! I just got up right away and stamped the houndstooth so I wouldn't forget in the morning, lol! Thank goodness I was able to pull this card off, it was going to happen today, even if I had to stay awake all night!
Okay, now that you got an eye-full of my "not-so-new" stuff, head on over to the rest of the chicks' blogs and see what they've been up to!
Also, if you haven't had a chance yet (and you're a FAN CLUB Member) you gotta check out the new DD gallery! The theme this month is Bold, Masculine, and DIRTY! There are so many amazing masculine cards in that gallery! I know I personally struggle with this theme everytime I think about it, but I have to admit that after dedicating this past month to all things manly, I'm a little more comfortable with it! Also, go check out the new Dirty Girls and congratulate them! THey really deserve it, they had a really tough first gallery and hit it out of the ball park!

It's the TEAL deal!

Hey! It's Monday! A "no-work" Monday too! Those are the best;)
Today's Monday Challenge is Valentine's Day cards! Super simple since I'm ALL about Vday lately! I paired this challenge up with the CAS challenge this week!
The title of today's CAS challenge on Splitcoast is "It's the REAL deal" but since the challenge is to use teal, white, and one other color, I thought "TEAL deal" sounded better, heehee!
Christy was over stamping at my house today, we had so much fun! She brought over some of her cricut carts and we cut bunches of fun stuff out! I'll get to my Cricut card after my CAS card!
She also brought a couple of her new SU! stamp sets, so I borrowed them for this card:) It's the heart set and I can't remember what the name of the set that sentiment comes from either, and I'm too lazy to run upstairs to look for my mini:)
I told Christy to tell me when to stop because I really have a hard time with CAS. Well, she didn't want to let me add buttons, but I couldn't help it! I don't think it makes it less "CAS" either, at least I hope not:) Hey, for me, this is CAS baby!

I also made this one, using the same color combo! I meant for it to be another CAS card, but I couldn't get a layout I liked and I simply HAD to use these sweet pandas! I cut them with Christy's Pagoda cartridge (So I should thank Vicky too since she bought the cart for Christy, ha!)
How fun are those pandas? I so love them:) The kanji writing on the heart says "Love" and that's also on the Pagoda cartridge (the heart is from Plantin Schoolbook). I did a little sewing, added some ribbon and buttons, and an edge punch and finally got a card I love:) I'm happy I got it done too, cause I promised Christy I'd post it today, rain or shine!
Check out what the rest of the Monday Chicks did:

Okay, I have another card! Yes, I made three today, I was on a roll, lol! This one is for Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge! This was a totally fun sketch, I'll be using it again!
I used the super fun Comfy Cozy set (this link takes you to the wholesale section, I only posted it so you could see the kit, not be scared by the price which is obviously for several sets sold to stores, lol!) by Unity! This was the incentive kit for ordering the December KOM so it's not currently available; however, I believe Angela will be re-releasing it for sale after CHA! There is another super fun sofa in this kit along with some other fun sentiments, I totally love this kit:)

I used the Shanghai digi paper kit by Designer Digitals for the paper. I printed it out on Epson Matte photo paper.
Alrighty, my eyeballs are going cross-eyed from all this typing so I'm gonna wrap it up:) I'll be back later this week! I need to be studying for my promotion so I may not post as often as I'd like, that is if everything is going as it SHOULD, but it probably won't because I hate studying with a PASSION!:)

Sweet Sunday on a Sweet Monday!

I had some crafty time today so I spent it wisely and created a card for Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch #49! It was SUCH a fun sketch, but I fear I took many liberties with it! I didn't mean to, but once I decided on this dp, I simply couldn't cut it up any smaller! Do you blame me? It's from the Porcelain paper pad by Basic Grey!
The cardstock base is Rustic White by PTI (srsly peeps, Rustic White and Rustic Cream are so wonderful...I've traded regular white and vanilla in for these colors:) and the green piece is Mellow Moss by SU! I stamped the butterfly (SU! single) in Sweet Blush and then cut it out, poured on the Heat and Stick powder (SU!) and then added some Martha Stewart glitter! YUM-O! I love this butterfly:) The frame and sentiment stamps are from the wonderful "Birdie Inspiration" kit by Unity! The background stamp on the card base is the Vintage wheel by SU! I rolled it on my Old Paper distress ink (Ranger). The ribbon is PTI, Apron Lace punch is by Fiskars, and the gorgeous white pearls are by Kaiser Krafts!

Well, I got my shabby chic itch out and I feel MUCH better:) Hope you have a WONDERFUL Monday (I know, long shot, but I'm an optimist!)
