Stamping 411 Winter Memories

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to the Stamping 411 Saturday Sketch Challenge. As always Selene and Gretchen have come up with yet another fabulous sketch. I hope you will take the time to hop on over and play along.

Here is the sketch:

SSC 268

…and my imterpretation

SAM_1402

I’ve used the Winter Memories Set for this card and just love this set. It brought back so many childhood memories for me.

  • I stamped the skates in Soft suede and took my aqua painter without ink and just blended with water to give the skates a touch of color. I then added some green to the leaves and cherry cobbler for the berries. I then ran my image piece through the Big Shot with one of the framelits.
  • Then I took my new paper piercing mat and one of the templates to add the piercing all around the edges….so fun. To top that off I decided it needed a bit more color so I took my Cherry Cobbler and did some faux stitching in between the holes.
  • The Dsp is from the “Be of Good Cheer” Designer Series Pack and was cut to 2 x 4 1/4
  • Before I attached the DSP I added two strips of Cherry Cobble Polka Dot Ribbon that is Scalloped and flipped it over and used the solid side to make the scalloped edge. Kind of a cheater scalloped edges…so simple.
  • I then attached the Image piece with dimensionals and added a sentiment. So easy.

I hope you enjoyed your visit today…come back often and enjoy your day!!!

Stamping 411 Sketch #265~Play Along

Hi Everyone,
I’ve got a fun card for  your today. I hope you like it
We’ve got a great sketch today, I really had a lot of fun with this one. A Big Thanks to Selene and Gretchen for continuing to come up with fabulous sketches for us to play with.
Here is the sketch:
ssc_265
….and my interpretation.
SAM_0781I love the new Big Background Stamp called Pleasant Poppies. It’s not just for backgrounds you know. I stamped this beauty on Watercolor Paper and used my neglected Watercolor Pencils and colored in by starting the coloring using a mustard tone on all the  flowers. I then went over with a reddish orange for the poppies leaving a bit of the yellow showing. I moved the color around using my Aqua Painter. Love to color like this.
  • The card base is Vanilla and cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2
  • I used the new Large Scallop Edgelit to cut the bottom
  • The Image was stamped on Watercoler paper and then cut to a 3” circle. The mat to a 3 1/4 circle and it’s Old Olive.
  • The Polka Dot Mat using Polka Dot Parade is cut to 1 1/2 x 5 1/2 and and then mounted on Old Olive cut to 1 5/8 c 5 5/8.
  • I did a double loop bow using Vanilla Seam Binding and attaching to the back of the polka dot mat. Then attached to the card base.
  • I cut another polka dot piece to place on the inside and peek out the bottom. It’s cut to 3/4 x 5 1/2…love this look.
  • I then popped the circle up with dimensionals.
  • I went back and took my Bashful Blue Marker and drew a light line around the images and stems and then blended with my aqua painter to make the image pop. Hope you like it.
That’s it for today. I hope you’ll think about playing this week. It’s an awesome sketch. Just go through you stamps or catalog and see what fits in a circle….you’ll be half way there.
Have fun and see you next time.

Stamping 411 Sketch #262

Hi Everyone,

Wow!!! We have had some torrential rains here in Jacksonville, Florida. We’re so fortunate to be out of the storm. We had almost 20 inches of rain in just two days……now that’s wet. Great time for creating though.

Here is this weeks sketch

Sketch 262-001

…and my fun interpretation. Hope you like it.

sketch 262

How fun and bright and fun huh? You know me and my white….well I’ve got some poppin” colors going on with it.

  • The card base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and is Whisper White.
  • The bottom Piece is Daffodil Delight and cut to 2 x 4 1/4
  • I then ran it through the Big Shot and used my Polka Dot Embossing folder and then cut the bottom with the Large Scallop Edgelit. How fun!
  • I added some Primrose Ribbon to separate the papers and it blends pretty well.
  • The strips of card stock also embossed with Polka Dots are 1/2 inch x 4 and cut as needed when placed. The colors are Melon Mambo, Wild Wasabi and Pretty in Pink.
  • The circle is cut with my 2 1/2 inch Circle Punch. I actually cut two. One from the Polka Dot DSP and the other from Whisper White. I attached the two together to add some substance, so it wouldn’t be wimpy.
  • I then stamped the cup Cake Images from Create A Cupcake and popped up on Dimensionals.

Hope you like it I had tons of fun doing this one. I brought a little sunshine and fun to my stamp room…as it was so gloomy outside.

Thanks for stopping it. I hope to see you back soon.

Stamping 411 Sketch #260

Hi Everyone,

I’ve got a totally fun set to share with you today. It’s the new Bootiful Occasions Set from the New Catalog. It’s just adorable!

Here is this weeks sketch:

SSC_260

…and my interpretation.

SAM_0560

This really is a very loose interpretation as I made it my own but one that I liked and fit my project. You know you don’t ever have to follow a sketch exactly but it’s a great starting point. I saw this sketch and this just stuck in my mind. As much as I wanted to follow the sketch I felt this was as done as I wanted it. So I eliminated a few layers to my liking. You know me….simple and easy!

  • The card base is Daffodil Delight and cut to 4 1/4 x 11 and folded in half after scoring at 5 1/2
  • The Real Red Mat is cut to 4 x 5 1/2 and scalloped at the bottom.
  • The cute-cute-cute red and white DSP is cut to 3 3/4 x 4
  • The Daffodil Delight long Banner is cut to 1 3/4 x 5 and i know you can’t see it but I used the Stripes Embossing folder on it to give it interest and a completely different design than the Polka Dots.
  • I then added a bit of Daffodil Delight Taffeta Ribbona nd tied a Double Loop Bow and attached to the back of the red mat and attached to the card base.
  • I stamped the image with Basic Black and colored in with a Daffodil Delight Marker.
  • Then I ran it through the Big Shot using one of the Framelits and popped it up on the front of the card with Dimensionals.

This card was so simple and fun to make. I hope you enjoyed seeing it. Make sure to visit the Stamping 411 Blog to see what the other Operators have done and what are participants have done. They are amazing!!!

Thanks for stopping in. See ya next time!

SSC_259

……..and my interpretation.
SAM_0524

I had lots of fun doing this one. I am showcasing the Tea Shoppe Stamp Set this week. It’s really a gorgeous set. These three tea cups are actually  on one stamp but I cute them into three to use them in a single fashion which I like. Not to say you should do that just sayin’.

  • My card base 5 1/4 x 8 1/2 in Whisper White (I know, gasp) hehe
  • My mat is Pool Party and is cut to 3 7/8 x 5 1/8
  • White Polka Dot Mat is cut to 3 3/4 x 5
  • The Polka Dots are done with a Pencil Eraser tapped into my Pool Party Ink Pad and stamped in a random fashion.
  • The Pool Party Mat under the image is cut to 2 7/8 x 4 5/8
  • The white mat is cut to 2 3/4 x 4 1/2
  • The tea cups were stamped in Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade and Pool Party.
  • They were then punched out using the 1 1/4” circle punch.
  • The coordinating mats were cut with the 1 3/8 Circle punch and the images were attached. They were then popped up using dimensionals.
  • Before I added the Polka dot mat to the Pool Party mat I attached a Double loop bow to the back side of the Polka dot with tape. Then built my card.

Hope you enjoyed my little share for today and will think about visiting us over at Stamping 411.

Have a great weekend and see you next time.

This just is how it feel here “Hot and Sizzling” with pinwheels blowing in the very slight breeze! Okay I think the heat has gotten to me.

….and my take on it.

sketches251 006_thumb144

This one is done with the Simply Soft Set from Stampin’ Up! it’s one of the Hostess Sets and one of my favorites. I hope you like it.

I wanted this to be really soft looking so colored the image in with light shades of pink onto Vanilla Card Stock. I don’t think you can get softer than that.

  • The Card Base is Crumb Cake and cut to 4 1/4 x 11
  • The Vanilla Mat is embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder. It’s 4 x 5 1/4
  • I then added a mat from the Mocha Morning Specialty Paper cut to 2 1/2 x 4
  • I have a tall Vertical Mat in Crumb Cake and embossed with the Edgelits. It measures 1 1/2 x 4
  • I also wrapped a piece of Pink Satin Ribbon around it and secured with tape on the back
  • The image piece is 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 and the image is stamped with Black Stazon and colored with my aqua painter and crayons.
  • I added a Double Loop Bow to Top it off.

Happy Easter weekend to all of you. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

It’s time for another sketch challenge from Stamping 411. I hope you will take a few minutes this weekend to play along with us.

Here is the sketch:

SSC_250

…..and my interpretation ….

sketch 250card007_thu[1]

I wanted something fun and bring and cheerful here and I think I succeeded. I hope you like it. Not a lot of stamping but still fun with inks and paper and dies.

  • My card base is 5 1/4 x 10 1/2
  • Lucky Limeade mat is 4 3/4 x 4 3/4
  • Whisper White Mat 4 5/8 x 4 5/8- this mat was run though the big shot with the stripped embossing folder. I inked up the top inside part of the folder with Melon Mambo applied with a Brayer. Rinse the brayer and the folder and repeat…. only this time using Lucky Limeade. Make sure to rotate your pattern so you get this cute check.
  • The Lucky Limeade Mat is cut to 2 x 4 5/8 and run through the Big Shot using the Polka Dot Embossing Folder. Love mixing Patterns here. Now I’ve cut two circles. The white is a 3” Circle and the Pink a 3 1/2 circle.
  • The Sentiment from Sincere Salutations Was stamped in Melon Mambo. I added a semi rhinestone border to add a little dazzle.
  • The Flowers were cut from scraps of Melon Mambo using the Flower Fusion Sizzlet Die. Stack the flowers and add a rhinestone to the center.
  • I’ve also added a few leaves using the Little Leaves Sizzlet.
  • Let’s not forget the Melon Mambo Circle that has been dotted with the Polka Dot Embossing Folder.
  • The final touch was a tiny butterfly from the Butterflies Sizzlet in Daffodil Delight….and a few Rhinestones.

That’s it…..hope you like it. It was tons of fun to make. Thanks for stopping in and we’ll see you next time!

Stamping 411 Sketch 249 Floral Fusion in Pink

Hello Stamping Friends,
Oh it’s been a glorious week here in Florida! the weather has been outstanding. Well all except for the day we had tons of rain…but the good news is it got rid of a ton of pollen. I can breathe again!!! hehe
Time for another sketch challenge from Stamping 411. Hope you’ll find time to play along this week.
Here is the sketch:SSC_249
….and my interpretation.
sketch 249-250 and online swap card 003
My card features the cute little die called “Floral Fusion”!!! I love this little die. It’s so easy to work with and speaks for itself…don't you think?
  • My card Base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded in half after scoring with the Simply Scored.
  • Speaking of the Simply Scored….I scored the white mat at every quarter of an inch on the ends doing three score lines on either side. I think it’s a nice touch for this sketch, what do you think?
  • The flowers were run through the Big Shot using Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose and Melon Mambo. I sponged them all on the edges….with like inks and added glue dots between the layers of flowers.
  • I then attached to the card with a glue dot as well
  • I felt it missed something so added a little bling to the centers of the flowers using the Rhinestones.
  • The Happiest Birthday Sentiment is from the Apothecary Set and stamped in Melon Mambo.
I hope you like my little creation today and will hop on over to Stamping 411 to see what the other Operators have come up with.
Have a Great Day and Happy Stamping!!!!

Stamping 411 Sketch 247 Up-Up and Away!!

Hi Everyone!
Hope you are all having some Spring-like weather by now. I know here in Jacksonville we’ve been in the 80’s so hoping some of you snowbirds are starting to see a bit of sunshine and spring too.
It’s time for another Sketch Challenge over at Stamping 411 . I hope you will take some time to check us out this weekend. It’s so totally fun to play along or to just visit and see all the beautiful artwork.
Here is the sketch for the week:
SSC_247
…and my interpretation……
Sketch 247 003
This is such a cute little set called “Up Up and Away”. I’ve not inked it before so thought I’d better. I chose to do my card in Pool Party and Lucky Limeade this week. I think it’s very soothing together. I hope you like it.
  • I cute the card base from Pool Party and it is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2
  • The Lucky Limeade Mat is 3 5/8 x 3 7/8
  • The Vanilla Image piece is cut to 3 1/2 x 3 3/4 and stamped with the cute little clouds and birds. I used Pool Party Ink and Basic Gray for the Birds
  • I inked up the Hot Air Balloons in Pool Party and Lucky Limeade some with Ink Pads and some with my markers.
  • I then cut them out and use Dimensionals to pop them up.
  • The little strip of vanilla was just a scrap lying on my desk and measure 1/2” which I ran through the crimper and attached with Dimensionals and trimmed to fit the mat.
  • The Buttons are from the Bitty Buttons and I punched the green circles with the cute little punches to match. I did thread a bit of twine through the buttons and adhered to the card front using glue dots…..that is it!
Well not really…I have to fess up…..this was going to be a three balloon card until I messed up not once but twice!!!!! See the time Pool Party Balloon piece on the right side of the card? Well I place my marker on the edge and had to cover it….so I stamped another balloon and cut off a piece to cover it!!! yeah!! Well not really because when I moved it I placed it off the top of my work mat and kept working well the marker tip hit the top edge on the left of my card…..so I had to add yet another balloon!!! So I had to get creative to cover my OOOPPSS!!! hehe
So when you mess up (we all do) just get creative and see what come of it….you might be surprised!!
Have a great weekend.

Here is the sketch…

Sketch 245

…and my sweet interpretation. I think it’s sweet because of the colors….pink and green….oh yes!

245

One of my all time favorites sets is Her Expressions. So easy to use and work around. I just love how delicate it is.

The card base is Wild Wasabi and cut to 4 1/4 x 11 and folded in half after scoring on the Simply Scored. I them added a some Blushing Bride cut to 4 x 4 1/2and added a strip of DSP cut     to 1 1/4 x 4 to the bottom of it. I stamped the saying with Black Stazon onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock cut to 1 1/4 x 2 1/2 and the green mat to 1 3/8 x 2 5/8. The image piece is again stamped with Black Stazon on to Whisper White Card stock cut to 2 x 3 . I did a little Maker layering and coloring. I did light green and added just a touch of the dark green towards the bottom of the leaves. Can you see? The green mat beneath is cut to 2 1/8 x 3 1/8. The flower layer was taped to the card and the saying was popped up with dimensionals. the cute bow is attached with a glue dot. The little circle was stamped with a little stamp from a set called Mixed Bunch in Blushing Bride and mounted on a circle of Blushing Bride cardstock. The I popped it up with a dimensional.

I hope you enjoyed my share today. It’s my Birthday and I want to wish a very Happy Birthday to all you March Birthdays out there!!! Have a wonderful weekend.

The featured stamp set used is out of the Sale-a-Bration Catalog and is called Elementary Elegance, isn’t it a beautiful image? The card base is Basic Black cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded in half. The next layer is Cherry Cobbler cut to 4 x 5 1/2,  and the next is newsprint cut to 3 7/8 x 5 1/8. The Black Scallop Mat is done using the Scallop Die and then I stamped the image onto Very Vanilla with Black Stazon. What I love about this set is you don’t have to worry about stamping the sentiment straight. Just stamp it onto a scrap of Very Vanilla and punch out using your Curly Label Punch. If you hold it upside down you can always see where you are punching. Then just pop the sentiment in the middle of the image. I popped it up with Dimensionals. I then added a double bow in Black Satin with a key hanging from it and 4 Rhinestones to the corner. For the finishing touch I added a few black specks with the retired “Itty Bitty’ set. It’s one set I will never part with. I hope Stampin Up! brings something like it back. It’ just always adds a little to the cards.

Almost forgot…I did run the newsprint and Cherry Cobble once it was taped together through the Big Shot using the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder. Just to add a touch of Elegance to it.

I hope you have enjoyed my take on the sketch today. Make sure to check out what the other Operators are doing. I’d say they are pretty fabulous!!!

Have a wonderful weekend and see you back soon I hope.

Stamping 411 Sketch #243

Hi Everyone,
Are you ready for another sketch challenge from Stamping 411? I hope so. This is a great sketch and so fun to work with. Don’t forget to give it a try and upload your card to our gallery. It’s so much fun!!!!
Here is the sketch…
Sketch 243
….and my interpretation.

I had tons of fun creating this card.
I started with a card base of Very Vanilla cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2. Followed with a mat of Soft Suede cut to 4 x 4 3/4 and the bottom is punched with the Scallop Edge Punch. My Designer Series Paper is from the Attic Boutique Pack and it’s cut to 3 7/8 x 4 5/8. I then added a strip of the darker DSp to the bottom. It’s cut to 4 x 1 and taped to the back of the Soft Suede Mat.
I tied a double loop bow with my Soft Suede Taffeta and attached to the back of the mat before taping to the Very Vanilla card front. The Oval is done with the Designer Frames Embossing Folder and then I cut it out just beyond the beading.
The Butterfly is from the Creative Elements Set and stamped ion Baja Breeze to coordinate with the DSP. Then I edged it with the Soft Suede Marker before stamping. Make sure to huff on it to get the full effect.
I added some pearls to the scallops to dress it up a bit.
That’s it for today. I hope that you enjoyed my take on the sketch and will give it a try. We always love seeing your creations.
Have a great weekend.
