Triple Tiara Tuesday

Welcome to this week's Triple Tiara Tuesday (T3) Challenge with Queen Kat Designs, I hope you washed up here via Penny's blog after checking out her awesome project, if not do go and check it out.  We've got a great sketch (over on the right) to work with this week.  Create your project based on this sketch and add a link on the QKD blog for a chance to win June's prize.

I've had a Myka Jelina monthly kit sitting on my desk un-inked for a while, so thought I'd use it for my DT card using the sketch.   Each monthly kit comes with at least one main image plus various accesories and sentiments, why not check the lastest kit in the Store.  There are a limited number of kits each month and when they're gone, they're gone so don't miss out !

I really adore Myka's artwork and coloured this beauty and her accessories with Copics and added touches of Spica Glitter Pen.  The background paper was from my stash, as were the gems.

The horizontal strip was punched with an EK Success border punch and embossed with a tiny rose Cuttlebug embossing folder.

I hope you've enjoyed your visit today and that you'll enter this month's challenge.  Thanks for stopping by.

T3 Challenge - Distress it up

Welcome to the Queen Kat Designs Triple Tiara Tuesday (T3) challenge for this week. The theme this week is to distress your projects. There's a prize up for grabs, so well worth submitting an entry. Just head to the QKD blog and add a direct link to your project via Mr Linky in the sidebar on the blog. Hopefully you arrived here after checking out the awesome projects both Penny and Loretta created for you, if not do hop over to their blogs right now you really won't want to miss them.

For my DT project I created a card using Kraft for the base card.  I stamped the great 'Old London Gate' stamp onto cream cardstock using Walnut Stain Distress Ink.  I then used a distress tool to roughen the edges of the image layer before adding over a slightly larger layer in dark brown cardstock, which I also distressed around the edges.

The cage image and sentiment are from the 'Every Season' stamp set and both were stamped with Rich Cocoa Memento ink.

I added additional distressing by dragging a gold ink pad around the edges of the dark brown layer and the cage.  The mocha coloured layer was distressed with the tool and by crumpling and tearing, before dragging Rich Cocoa ink around the edges.

I hope my project has inspired you to get distressing and to submit an entry for this week's challenge.  Just add a link to your project on the QKD blog.

Thanks for looking and have a great day !
