True Friend

Hello! I hope you are all having a good day! I made this card for Jen Del Muro's sketch challenge. I love this sketch! The possibilities are endless. This one will definitely get used again wink. Please don't look too closely at my sewing, haha. I really screwed it up. It wasn't all my fault though. My sewing machine was doing weird stuff, but I can't blame the crookedness on it...that was all me lol. On the bright side though, at least my circle cutter was cooperating today.
-Stamps-True Friend, PTI Papertray
-Paper-Bashful Blue, Riding Hood Red and White cardstock; Washington Apple DSP
-Ink-Riding Hood Red, Old Olive and Bashful Blue

Another Anni-VERVE-sary Sketch card

Man, I am lovin' these sketches!! I can't believe how many cards I've been making lately. Oh, BTW the sketches can be found HERE on SCS in the Verve forum. I've got to get some Verve stamps. They are so pretty!

Fabulous Flowers

Well, this one I'm not sure if I like yet or not. The flower was done using the Faux Shaving cream technique (directions HERE) with Purely Pomegranate and Groovy Guava. I love that technique...although, I'm not sure I'm loving it on this card =). I think I may try this one again with different colors and no faux shaving cream too see if comes out better.
-Stamps-Fabulous Flowers and True Friend.
-Paper-Kraft, Whisper White and Purely Pomegranate cardstock; Bali Breeze DSP
-Ink-Purely Pomegranate, Groovy Guava and Chocolate Chip.
-Accessories-Chocolate Chip grosgrain, hole punch (sorry, I don't know what size)

BTW, hopefully you won't be seeing cards with horrible shadows behind them anymore =). I've seen several people mention on their blogs that they use the Macro setting with no flash for photographing cards but I didn't know what it was, or where to find it. So the other night I started playing around with settings and I found it! It's a focus setting. Now I'm playing around with other buttons trying to figure out what they're for =). Oh, and I found out that my camera (that I've had for a year and a half) has a few really cool features that I never knew were there =). The picture above was taken in my stamp room (that has horrible lighting) with the macro setting and no flash. I also had the EV shift on +0.3 (default setting was 0)...not sure what it's actually for, but it seems to make things less dark. I only lightened this picture a tiny bit after I uploaded it to my computer. Normally I have to brighten A LOT.

You make me happy =)

Good morning! I hope everyone is having a wonderful Wednesday so far. Chances are I'm still sleeping, I just scheduled this post. Don't you love that new feature on blogger? FYI all of my posts that are in the morning are scheduled. I am sooo not a morning person, lol. Anyway I came across this color combo somewhere and loved it so I had to give it a try. It's Wild Wasabi, Purely Pomegranate and So Saffron. I had to use Garden Green for the flower stem though. -Stamps-True Friend and Boho Backgrounds.
-Ink-Purely Pomegranate and Garden Green marker
-Paper-Purely Pomegranate, So Saffron and Whisper White cardstock; Wild Wasabi DSP (from hostess prints pack)
-Accessories-Clear rhinestone brad, pop dots.

SC159

Man, I am so in love with my new stamp sets! I haven't had so many ideas running through my head in a while =). I made this card for sketch challenge 159 on SCS. I really love this layout. It's so simple, but there are so many possibilities. The card looks better in person though. I couldn't get a good picture of it. Probably because I have really crappy lighting in here. Sorry about the horrible shadow in the background.
Isn't the Berry Bliss DSP gorgeous?! I've always been a huge fan of pink and brown together so I was really happy to get my hands on this paper =).

I punched the scallop circle twice to get the pointy edges. The edges were lightly sponged with pretty in pink ink then I layered that on a regular punched scallop, just offset a little bit. The pretty in pink circle was punched with the the circle punch and has pop dots underneath. It looks crooked in the picture though. I think I just took it from a bad angle.

-Stamps-One of a Kind, True Friend, Boho Backgrounds and Priceless
-Ink-Purely Pomegranate, Pretty in Pink and Close to Cocoa
-Paper-Purely Pomegranate, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White and Close to Cocoa cardstock; Berry Bliss DSP
-Accessories-Pretty in Pink marker, 1 3/8 and 1 1/4 circle punches, Boho Blossoms punch, Scallop circle punch, silver brads, Pretty in Pink taffeta ribbon and stickles.

Altered Spice bottle

I saw these cute season grinders the other day at Sam's. The Tuscan Chicken was about $5, and the salad one was about $2. They are great spices too. I thought they would look great alteredbiggrin They were pretty easy to do. You just cut the paper at the top and bottom slanted since the bottle tapers. I just kinda eyeballed it, and then cut two of them. If you are able to get the label off in one piece, you can just use that as a template though.

Here is a closer picture.
I used the stamp set True Friend, and Short Order alphabet. I stamped the letters in Chocolate Chip. The image from True Friend was stamped in Close to Cocoa. Then I sponged the edges in Creamy Caramel, then just the edges in Close to Cocoa.

True Friend Sketch Challenge 149

This is for Sketch Challenge number 149 on SCS. I had to overlap the images on the right though, to make them fit. I am really loving these colors together. I think it was a color challenge on SCS a few weeks ago that I never got around to doing. I'm really having fun with this stamp set too. I just got it a few days ago. This is another set that I hated when I saw it but SCS won me over on itmrgreen. For the two images on the side I did the rock and roll technique. For the main Image I colored it with a pretty in pink marker, then colored all the dots with a Rose Red marker. The Sentiment was stamped in Purely Pomegranate, and colored in with Pretty in Pink.
