More Christmas cards =)

Good morning! I hope you all had a great weekend! I saw this color combo somewhere recently, but I can't remember where. The card I saw used Baja Breeze though, but I don't have that color yet, so I used Soft Sky. This first card looked a lot better before I put those huge brads on. Problem was though, I poked all the holes with my paper piercer, and then decided the holes I poked were too close to the edge so I poked new ones next to them. Then I decided that smaller brads would look much better, but by that point it was too late, because the small brads wouldn't cover up both holes. Duh! lol Oh, well. I'm still pretty happy with it though. The brads were silver, but I just embossed them to make them white. I don't think I'll ever get tired of this stamp set! I love coloring it! I wanted to use my Copics, but I didn't have the right colors, so I used an SU marker for the Burgundy and an Aqua Painter with my Soft Sky ink pad.

Loved the color combo so much I decided to make another biggrin. I just inked up the image with Soft Sky, and then went right over it with markers.

Sketch cards

Good morning! I hope you are all having a good day. Guess what? I finally ordered some Copic markers! mrgreen OMG, I am so excited! I've been dying to get some for a while, but I was scared to start buying them and then getting sucked in and feeling like I need them all, which I'm sure will happen rolleyes. I got 16, so I'm hoping I can get by for a while with those colors. I can't wait to get them! They shipped yesterday!

Yesterday my best friend Caroline came over to stamp with me. I managed to get two cards done! Both of them use the CPS sketch from last week-CPS90. I LOVE this sketch! It's so versatile, and has a bunch of layers.

The image on the first card I made few weeks ago. Just one of those things I couldn't figure out what in the heck to do with.

My blog is doing that double spacing junk again, but it's so weird! It's only doing it under the pictures. It's fine where I'm typing right now. It won't let me change the size of the text down there either, but it will let me change the font and the color. So anyway, I just didn't skip spaces, because it was just too long!

-Stamps-Inkadinkado Dogs, Upsy Daisy -Paper-PTI white, Basic Black, and Pink Pirouette cardstock; Pink Pirouette patterns DSP.-Ink-Palette black, Pink Pirouette -Accessories-blender pen, offray ribbon, paper piercer, mat pack.

-Stamps-Season of Joy, PTI Take a Bough -Paper-Real Red, Old Olive and Very Vanilla cardstock; Dashing DSP -Ink-Real Red, Old Olive -Accessories-Old Olive 1/4" grosgrain.

Oh, and I got two blog awards. I always forget about these things. Normally when I get one, I just keep telling myself I'll post it later, but by the time later comes, I forget wink!

I got The Kreativ Blogger award from Cheryl. Thanks Cheryl! You can check out her blog HERE.

Tiffany sent me the I love your blog award. Thanks Tiffany! You can see her blog HERE.

Make sure you check them out! I'm tellin' ya, their blogs are great! Okay, so now I'm supposed to pass each of these on to five other people, but I'm gonna be lazy instead mrgreen haha. I'm tired, and I think most of you have already received these anyway. Besides, it's way too hard to pick my favorite blogs! My favorites grow like everyday!

More Christmas cards

I finally made an acetate card! I saw a really cute one on Lorie's blog yesterday, and it reminded me again that I need to make one! You can see Lorie's HERE. I didn't have much luck taking pictures today though. It's kinda hard to tell where the card ends, lol. It looks a lot better in person though. I think I'm going to have to make more of these. I really like them!

Good Morning and Happy Friday! Time for another Stamp Something Challenge =). This weeks theme is Simply Stamp Something. I know your all capable of that!

This was a sketch challenge on SCS a long time ago, but I don't know off hand which one. I love the way it opens! This card is standard size. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

It won't be too much longer, and I've still got a lot of cards to make. I like to make them all different, but this year there may have to be some duplicates.

So I guess you can see I haven't put away my sewing machine from the card I posted Tuesday. That dang this is heavy though! I keep meaning to get one of those little ones. Anyway, I got a little crazy with the glitter too =). On this one I painted Elmer's glue using a paint brush on the snow, the snowmen and a little on the tree.
-Stamps-Wishing you Cheer, PTI Take a Bough
-Paper-Real Red, Soft Sky, and Whisper White
-Ink-Soft Sky and Real Red
-Accessories-Soft Sky reinker and Blender pen, Glue Dots, sewing machine and white thread, Elmer's Glue, paint brush, Martha Stewart glitter: Crystal Coarse, Crystal Fine and Carrara Marble.

Yeah, so this one is pretty overdone. My plan was to put the stitching where you see it closest to the outside. Just one go around, not two. I accidentally sewed the Real Red to the Old Olive, which just looked really funny to me, so I decided to go ahead and sew that piece to the base, even though I knew it would probably come out overdone.
-Stamps-Season of Joy, Many Merry Messages
-Paper-Real Red, Old Olive and Whisper White
-Ink-Old Olive, Summer Sun, Real Red and Close to Cocoa
-Accessories-Martha Stewart Glitter Crystal Fine, Elmer's Glue, paint brush, Sewing Machine and thread.

Awesome One Sheet Wonder

Good afternoon! The other day I saw a link somewhere to THIS one sheet wonder in the Verve forum on SCS. It's great! All you need is one sheet of 6 X 6 double sided DSP, and some cardstock to make 4 cards.

I always forget that the Dashing DSP has Very Vanilla in it, instead of Whisper White so on 3 of the 4 cards I used WW until I realized it, lol.
-Stamps-Holiday Blocks (retired), Many Merry Messages
-Paper-Real Red, Old Olive, River Rock and Whisper White cardstock; Dashing DSP
-Ink-Real Red
-Accessories-Real Red 1/4" Grosgrain

I just inked up part of the image on this one my markers.
-Stamps-Season of Joy
-Paper-Real Red, Old Olive and Whisper White cardstock; Dashing DSP
-Ink-Real Red and Old Olive markers
-Accessories-Real Red 1/4" Grosgrain

-Stamps-Holiday Tag Team, Many Merry Messages
-Paper-Real Red, and Whisper White cardstock; Dashing DSP
-Ink-Real Red; Real Red, Old Olive and Basic Black markers.

The poinsettia is was stamped in classic Real Red, but it was still so wet after I stamped it, I was about to heat set it so I wouldn't smear it, and decided to just emboss it with clear EP instead. Then I gently curled the edges and put Stampin' Dimensionals underneath, along with the three layers underneath.

-Stamps-Season of Joy, PTI Take a Bough
-Paper-Real Red, River Rock, Old Olive and Very Vanilla cardstock; Dashing DSP
-Ink-Real Red and Old Olive
-Accessories-Clear EP, Stampin' Dimensionals, Sewing machine and red thread

Scrapbook page

So I finally did another scrapbook page. Well two actually. I decided on Saturday I wanted to get back into scrapbooking more seriously. I was going through my pictures on the computer trying to decide which ones to have printed. Well I turned off my computer to put my CD burner back in (hubby was borrowing it, since he doesn't have one at the moment) and my computer wouldn't come back on. It kept giving me an error message. So Sam put my hard drive in his computer to see if it would work which it didn't. We also tried using an external hard drive enclosure which also didn't work. By this point I was getting pretty worried about my pictures and documents being gone. I hadn't backed anything up in a LONG time. You'd think I would have learned from this last time this happened. I was using hubby's computer from about December to July (loaned someone mine) and his hard drive crashed with my pictures from that time on it. Never did get those back.

Luckily hubby was able to do a repair install of windows which worked. I had enough time to burn CD's of everything important before it started going crazy again. Whew! Now my motherboard isn't working either, but I'm not too worried about that. I got my stuff, so I'm just using hubby's computer for right now. So, if you haven't backed your files in a while, you might want to do that =). Keep in mind that your hard drive could crash at anytime! Most of the recovery places I looked into before hubby fixed it wanted around $300.

So I haven't been online hardly at all lately. I'm sill working on downloading stuff, installing programs, and organizing files and all that. I am so backed up on my Google reader right now it's not even funny. I just checked and I have 458 unread posts! I subscribe to way too many blogs!

Anyway, these pictures were taken in early 2001. We don't normally get snow like this around here, so we decided to really have some fun. We have a huge pretty open field, so there was tons of room to play in the snow. So after our snowball fight someone came up with the idea to use a car hood from a junk car turned upside down as a sled, attached with rope to the 4-wheeler to pull it around. OMG, that was so much fun! We had to start using a truck about half way through though, because the 4-wheeler was getting too hot. Who knew you could have so much fun with a car hood, lol.

And I just realized when I saw this picture that the pictures on this side of the page are down lower and a little crooked. Hopefully I can fix that =). The chipboard letters are covered with Soft Sky prints DSP. I sanded the edges and added a little white ink to them with a q-tip. On the snowflakes I did the Rock and Roll technique with Soft Sky and Blue Bayou.
-Stamps-Wishing you cheer, Season of Joy
-Paper-Blue Bayou, Soft Sky, Bravo Burgundy and white
-Ink-Soft Sky, Blue Bayou, and Whisper White craft
-Accessories-Bravo Burgundy 1/4" grosgrain, Corner rounder punch, 1 1/4" and 1 3/8 circle punches, Scallop circle punch, Stampin' Dimensionals, On Board lots of letters and circle cutter.

Season of Joy

I love making Christmas cards! Well, for that matter, I love Christmas and everything about it. Am I the only one that listens to Christmas music while making my Christmas cards? I don't care if it's 105 outside, I'll be singing along with let it snow lol. I really need to get a move on! I make all my Christmas cards different, so it takes me forever!

Anyway, I was looking at the new catalog the other day, and noticed the card on page 52 where the bottom edge is folded up and torn. I LOVE that look, so or course I ran right to the stamp room. I cut my cardstock to 4.25 X 9, then scored at 4.25 and 8.5. I would recommend stamping on that little edge before you fold it up though. My first two attempts were very smeared! Then I just tore it and folded it up. I used mini glue dots to keep in in place, while still giving it a little bit of dimension. I'm gonna be so sad when I run of this gorgeous DSP cry.

More Anni-VERVE-sary Sketch cards

I got a couple more of the anni-VERVE-sary sketches done.

-Paper-Real Red, River Rock and Whisper White carstock; Dashing DSP.
-Ink-Old Olive, Real Red, Close to Cocoa and Summer Sun.
-Accessories- Pewter brads, 1 1/4 & 1 3/8 circle punches.

This one I'm really happy with. It looks a lot better in person. Well aside from the Bashful Blue moon. My ink pad is getting dry, and I keep forgetting to order a darn reinker for itrolleyes. The moon and star along with the Barely Banana panel are popped up with stampin dimensionals. The sentiment at the bottom doesn't really show up in the picture. It says welcome, little one.

This card measures 4 X 6

-Stamps-Nursery Necessities
-Paper-Barely Banana, Bashful Blue, Whisper White cardstock; Pretty in Pink prints DSP
-Ink-Pretty in Pink, Basful Blue and Barely Banana

Spirelli Scallop

I just saw this idea on Samantha Parisi's blog. She has made an awesome tutorial you can see HERE. You can get many different looks from this just by how you wrap the cord. So cool! The layout was Beate's 28th Sketch challenge.
Here is is close up.
The Old Olive Circle behind the scallop is just the round tab punch layered.

Recipe
-Stamps-Big Pieces, Snow Flurries and Season of Joy.
-Ink-Old Olive, Real Red and River Rock
-Paper-Dashing DSP; Old Olive, Real Red, River Rock and Whisper white cardstock
-Accessories-Scallop punch, 1 3/8 circle punch, round tab punch, ticket corner punch, sponges, silver brads.

Beate's Sketch challenge Season of Joy

This card was for Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge #26. I really love Beate's sketches. I think this one is one of my favorites.
-Stamps-Season Of Joy, Perfect Endings, Snow Flurries
-Ink-Old Olive, River Rock, Real Red
-Paper-Dashing DSP; Old Olive, River Rock, Real Red and Whisper White cardstock
-Accessories-Pewter Hodgepodge hardware, Real Red grosgrain ribbon
And I'm such a cheapskatewink. Whenever most of a piece of DSP is going to be covered up anyway, I'll cut out as much as I can. It really does make your Designer Series paper go further though. I know the edges are really raggedy. I used my old fiskars paper trimmer for this, which I only use for scoring and stuff like this since i have the tabletop trimmer now.

Thursday Sketch # 7

Here is my Thursday sketch for this weekrazz.
I had a really hard time with this sample. It just looked like something was missing at the top. Finally I used the tab punch and stamped merry from Perfect Endings (retired) on it, now I'm happy with it. I know it's kind of an odd sketch but Crazy for Christmas (retired) seemed to work perfect. I think Festive Favorites or Big on Christmas would work, but I didn't have either of those. I really need more stampswink. I do have an order coming Monday though! I can't wait! Sorry for all of the retired stuff, but it just seemed to work. I'm pretty limited on Christmas sets right now too. I only have a couple that are current.

-Stamps-Perfect Endings, Crazy For Christmas, Linen Background, Season of Joy (the swirl was stamped off).
-Ink-River Rock, Real Red, Old Olive
-Paper-Dashing DSP; River Rock, Real Red, Old Olive cardstock
-Accessories-Round tab punch, Real Red1/4" Grosgrain ribbon; Real Red & Old Olive markers.

Season of Joy SC147

I made this card for the Sketch Challenge on SCS (SC147). I had to turn the sketch around a bit though to make the image fit. For the image, I just inked up with markers 'tis the Season JOY portion of the stamp. I thought it looked a little plain though, so I inked up the poinsettia's and stamped those above and blow the image. Then I just sponged around the edges with River Rock.

Recipe
-Stamps-Season Of Joy
-Ink-River Rock and Old Olive
-Paper-Whisper White, Real Red, and Old Olive; Dashing DSP
-Accessories-Real Red and Old Olive markers, Real Red grosgrain.

Thursday Sketch # 6

Here is the Sketch for this weekbiggrin. Sorry everything on here is Christmas cards lately. I just kept putting them off because I wanted to play with other stampswink.
The image was colored with markers. The snowflake was popped up with a glue dot.
Recipe:
-Stamps-Season Of Joy
-Paper-Real Red, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White and River Rock cardstock; Dashing DSP
-Ink-River Rock
-Accessories- Old Olive and Real Red markers, Corner Rounder Punch, Real Red grosgrain, glue dot.
