Pixie Dust Studio Challenge "Think Pink"

Time for another Pixie Dust Studio Challenge!   I chose Alice for my card in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month.  My mom is a breast cancer survivor - 35 years!
I used "Alice" from Kathy's "Down the Rabbit Hole" collection, I think she is lovely in pink!  I colored Alice with my Copic markers and used Basic Grey DP.  My flowers are from Prima , my border was punched with a Martha Stewart punch and my buttons are from "My Favorite Things".

Here is this week's sketch to follow and your card can be made with the themes:   "Think Pink" for Breast Cancer Awareness month, Halloween or Fall:

The link for the challenge is here, we hope you will join our challenge this week - we would love to see your creations!

This is my last creation for Pixie Dust Studio.  Kathy, you have been fabulous to work with as well as all my Pixie DT sisters.  I wish all of you the very best!

Announcing Pixie Dust Studio's Newest Collection - Leaves!

Today is the day Pixie Dust Studio releases their newest collection, Leaves!  I hope you saw my sneak peek yesterday.  Kathy's focus was definitely fall and Thanksgiving for this collection.  My card features two of her new images, "Pocahontas" and "John Smith":

Once again I invaded my stash and found this fall DP.  My card stock is from SU and my images are colored with my Copic markers.  My sentiment is from Sugar Creek Hollow.

I hope you will join us for our challenge this week here  on Thursday and please visit the other Pixie's blogs, listed on my sidebar to see their challenge creations.

A "Sneak Peak" from Pixie Dust Studio's Newest Collection!

I'm so pleased to share with you a sneak peek of Pixie Dust Studio's newest collection, "Leaves".   Kathy has designed so many cute images, this is "Harvest Mouse":

Fall is fast becoming one of my favorite seasons.  I love the cooler weather and the beautiful colors this time of year.  This cute little mouse peeking out of the pumpkin is so typical, of course the mice around here are not quite so "cute" and once the crops are harvested, they all scatter to try and get into our homes!

I used some DP and CS I had in my stash and colored my image with Copic markers.  My MS fence border punch seemed the perfect embellishment as well as the fall colored flowers.

Thanks for visiting and please take a moment and visit the other Pixie's blogs to see their newest creations which are listed on my sidebar!

Pixie Dust Studio Challenge #43 - Sweet Baby

Time for Pixie Dust Studio's Thursday challenge!  This week Kathy asked us to make a baby card using pink, blue, yellow or green.  I chose Gia the Giraffe, I think she's just perfect!

I used DP and card stock from Papertrey Ink.  My embossed panel is from DCWV.  I colored Gia with my Copic markers and sponged some SU apricot ink around the edges.  The wooden alphabet tiles were a "find" at Michael's and I tied them on SU ribbon.

Pixie Dust Studio Challenge #42 - Swirls On the Correct Day!

Well, I lost a few brain cells somewhere along the way, don't bother to pick them up - they seem to be worn out!  I posted my PDS card on Wednesday instead of Thursday.  I'm in Falls Church, VA with DD and 4 lovely grandchildren (that addle me a bit, LOL!).  DD had surgery yesterday and I have been scuttling my grandchildren and 2 extras around the area for school, violin lessons, etc.  Seems I got mixed up on the day of the week and was a day early with my post.  So...one more time!  The Pixie Dust Studio Challenge for this week is to create a card or project with lots and lots of swirls!  I chose Lil Red and Wolf Jacob, after all, what's "Little Red Riding Hood" without the wolf?  Only thing, this wolf is not bad, he's really yummy!

I chose Basic Grey's Indian Sumer collection and used my new Magnolia Doohickey die to add extra swirls. My scalloped panel is actually embossed with a Cuttlebug swirley folder, sorry it does not show up too well in my photo.  Coloring is with my Copics and I cut out both images for my card.  I love brown and pink together and this ribbon from PTI matches the brown in my DP.

Thanks for visiting today and be sure to visit the other Pixie's blogs for more inspiration, they're listed on my sidebar.  Hope you will join us for this week's Pixie Challenge here!

Pixie Dust Studio Challenge #40 - "Fur or Feathers"

Pixie Dust Studio has a really fun challenge this week!  Choose an image with either "fur" or "feathers" to create your challenge entry.

I chose two images this week, "Purrfect Princess" an "Knit 1 Pearl 2" from the Pixie Dust Studio shop.  Cats all think they are princesses and that you belong to them.  They also choose the best seats in the house!

I chose Basic Grey's "Olivia" for my design paper and SU card stock.  Purrfect Princess and her chair were colored with Copic markers.  I added a daisy from my "Heartfelt Creations" set and the embellishment is a "Doohickey" die from Magnolia Stamps.

I hope you will join us for our challenge this week here and please visit the other Pixie's blogs, listed on my sidebar,  to see their challenge creations.

Pixie Dust Studio Challenge - In Between The Newsprint!

This definitely was a "challenge" for me!  Limiting my colors is like tying one hand behind my back.  This week's Pixie Dust Studio Challenge is to use black/white and ONE other color.
True Love
The image I used is from the Twilight Collection, "True Love".  My favorite quote from the movie is "And so the lion fell in love with the lamb".  Since I was limited with my colors, I decided to emboss with my Cuttlebug and completely eliminate any DP.  I added some diecuts and I embossed and sponged my background.  Buttons strung with jute add the finishing touch.

I hope you will join us for this week's challenge!  The other Pixie's have created some fabulous cards, just click on my sidebar for more inspiration!

Back to School Challenge at Pixie Dust Studio!

Today is Pixie Dust Studio challenge day!  Parents have children either already back in school or preparing to go back to school.  This week's challenge is to create a card  with a "Back to School" theme.  Here's my card!
I've used "August" Pixie for my image, she looks just like a schoolgirl!  I found a neat apple template and used that for creating my apples from Basic Grey's Cupcake collection.  My coloring is with Copic markers and I added chipboard, buttons and a real bow to August Pixie's hair.  My other design paper is also Basic Grey from their Manilla collection.

I hope you will join us for this week's challenge here!  Please visit my Pixie friend's blogs to see their fabulous card creations and for inspiration:

Thanks for visiting and I'll be looking for your challenge entry!

Harry Potter Release from Pixie Dust Studio! Sneak Peek Monday

For all you Harry Potter fans, Kathy is releasing her newest collection on Wednesday which centers around the world of Harry Potter!  I have watched every one of the movies and it is just a feast for all of us who love the world of fantasy.  Today I am giving you a sneak peek of one of Harry's best friends, Ron:
Everything right now is all about starting a new school year and the upcoming Fall.  So I have designed Ron to look "preppy" using Basic Grey Capella DP and adding DCWV brown which I have embossed and sanded.  I also used SU card stock for my die cuts.  And since I can never throw anything away (thank you Gretchen, LOL!), I had a piece of SU ribbon which matched perfectly.

Please join me tomorrow for another sneak peek and again on Wednesday for the big Harry Potter release day!  My Pixie mates also have fabulous sneek peeks today too, hope you will visit their blogs which are listed on my sidebar and see their creations!

Thanks for visiting and hope to see you back tomorrow!

The Pixies "Stitch It Up" this Week!

How many of you love to stitch on your cards?  I'll bet lots of you do.  For those who like the look but not the actual sewing, you can always do a faux stitch.  That is what I've done with this week's challenge.  I really like to sew on cards, but sometimes I'm in a hurry.  This week I've used Kathy's "Island Fairy" digi.  She's available in the Pixie Dust Studio along with many other fabulous digis.
You can see my faux stitching around the image oval and also in the border behind the die cut oval.  I used a Cuttlebug embossing strip to achieve the zigzag stitch on the border.  I used Basic Grey's Euphoria collection and Bazzill card stock.  My fairy was colored with Copic markers, my flowers are from Prima and I've used Stickles to add some glamour and glitz.

Join us for this week's challenge and link your card here, we'd love to see your creations!  If you would like some inspiration, just visit the other's Pixie's blogs listed on my sidebar.

Frankie Funhouse Fairy

Pixie Dust Studio Challenge - "Pretty In Pink"

Pink, now that's one of my favorite colors for making cards!  I just had to use "Little Miss Dress Up" for this week's challenge, I think she just looks so sassy!  Here's my card:
I found the black and white DP in my stash and used SU and Canson card stock.  Little Miss Dress Up is colored with Copic markers and I added Stickles to her boa for some flash.   This was a fun challenge and I hope you'll play along with us at Pixie Dust Studio!  You can find the challenge information here.

Pixie Dust Studio - Take the Pixie Challenge!

Thursdays are Pixie Dust Studio challenge day!  This week's challenge is "Cute as a Button".  All you need to do is make a card/creation using buttons.  Now this I enjoy, buttons are one of my favorite embellishments.  Here is my card for the challenge:
Under the Weather
Sad little gnome!  I think he's tired of the rainy weather!   I colored him with bright Copic colors to cheer him up.

My DP is from the Basic Grey "Marrakech" collection and my card stock is from SU.  Buttons, buttons, buttons!  These are all from my button tin.  I love to go to thrift stores, flea markets, whatever and add to my collection.

Thanks for visiting today and be sure to check out the other Pixie's creations and don't forget to enter the challenge!

Pixie Dust Studio's Newest Collection - Gnome World!

Today's the official release day for Pixie Dust Studio's newest collection!  Now who doesn't like gnomes?  I've seen them in your gardens!  These are just part of the fabric of fairytales that owner/designer Kathy designs for her fabulous collections.  I had a great time designing my "gnomie" cards.  Here is my card to celebrate today's release:
Gnome is where the Heart is

I had a lot of fun creating all my cards with this collection, I do believe this is the "brightest" one!   I colored with my Copics, used Cosmo Cricket "DeLovely", DCWV and SU card stock.  Added a little country crinkle ribbon, raffia lace and a butterfly thrown in for good measure!
Thanks for visiting and be sure to check out the other's Pixie's blogs to see their release cards!

This is "Gnome Sweet Gnome""

I just love the Basic Gray DP, "Origins" with this design.  I added more flower elements and a yellow satin bow.

This was so much fun to design and Kathy has a store full of images!  Thanks for visiting and be sure to check the other Pixie's blogs to see their creations!
