Rain Rain go away

What a horrible day it has been.  Raining most of the day and kids climbing the walls.  Anyway, I watched Avatar today, we brought it last week but hadnt had a chance to watch it.  WOW it was fantastic.  Amazing graphics and a good story too.  So pleased it ended how I wanted it too ;)

I made a card today, I used my new Lilli of the Valley stamp and also a few flower stamps from a Stampendous set.  I thought the cute bear would look cute with some large flowers behind him.  I used my Stampin Up! ink pads to colour this in and also used my Glimmer Paint to make my own shimmer spray.  The beautiful flower is Prima.  The words are from the same Stampendous set and the punch is the Word Window punch from SU.  Oh and I cant forget the edge punch that is the Martha Flourish punch which took my a few months to track down!

Also here are some quick boxes that I made using the Vintage Vogue stamp set from Stampin' Up! and the matching wheel.  Not at all my usual style, however it was so easy to make and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the wheel now and I can see this being used a lot, along with the set too when I am feeling more "grown up".

I have entered the above into the Lili of the valley challenge blog http://liliofthevalleythursdaychallenge.blogspot.com/

Have a great bank holiday weekend!

Friday's Ramblings

Hi there. Well today is the day that you can send your SU UK form off to sign up to be a demonstrator. I am holding on until a little later today so I can see if the catalogue comes online. If it doesnt I will order the starter kit as it is with a few changes to the inks to colours I like more than the suggested ones.

Caiden is sleeping today, we have friends coming round after school so I have been busy tidying. I really wanted to make a card but I have two from yesterday to share so I will share those and if I still have a moment maybe just colour something in.

This is one of my new Magnolia stamps. I love her.... this could be her in my garden today, the windy is whistling about and leaves flying everywhere. I think she looks nicer in real life than the photo and I was really pleased with my colouring on this one. I think she is out trying to collect berries and nuts to take home and make a tasty snack.

Magnolia stamp, Prima leaves, Magenta Paper, Watercolour pencils, linen card from Crafts Central pick and mix, Glitter Glue, ribbon from my ribbon angel Candice in USA!

Here she is again, in all her autumnal glory. These lovely primas were from Creative Living, they have a great assortment of prima flowers in, I am there demoing tomorrow and feel another pack coming home with me :) The zoomz are the Onyx ones from stamp Galaxy. The ribbon is from woodware I had distressed it with a brown ink pad, the paper is a piece I have had for a while so I cant remember where I got it. I coloured her in a soft yellow and added glitter glue.

I have had a few "homer moments" this week. By that I mean a few sneaky little purchases that I made this week that made me make that noise homer makes when he thinks about donuts and pork chops! LOL We are big simpsons fans here in our house. I am hoping Darren hasnt been bothered to read this far down so here is what I got.... 2 magnolias (one of which shown here), Ribbon kit from little silver hat (YUMM), 1 pack of beautiful primas, 1 bella, 1 non bella stamping bella stamp (LOL) So in my best homer voice "hmmm ribbon, primas, bellas, magnolia... arghhhhhhhh"

My Super card

I was looking at my new Hanna earlier thinking what could I do what had not been done, as I am overseas it takes longer for these to reach me, therefore almost everything that can be done with these beautiful stamps has (in the conventional way)... anyway, I was looking at her, in her stretched out pose and it hit me... this is my Super card!

Materials Used : Hanna Stamp, Cuttlebug embossing folder, red card, spotty paper, computer generated phrase, star from Prima bottle, watercolour pencils and glitter glue.

Another Magnolia I am afraid!

I do hope you are not bored of them, but this little guy needed inking up, he was getting a complex ass (whoops) I have had him some weeks and not used him. **** apologies for people on subscription as I typed Ass!! LOL gave me a giggle though!!**

At my demo at CUL there was this rather fun looking card, I have seen these before and perhaps someone can tell me the official name for this card? I have been calling it a "oingy boingy card" LOL So I measured it, and folded it and here it is.

Magnolia stamp, Dovecraft Paper, Prima Flowers, Zoomz from Stamp Galaxy, Cinnamon star and heart, pencils, glitter glue and a whole lotta fun!

Mixed up magnolia

I have had fun making this "junky" card using bits and pieces from the beautiful prima bottle that Kym kindly brought me :) I think I need to find another one of these as its now getting painful to use more with the bits disappearing from the bottle LOL I dont mind using these flowers and things all the while I have a few left, but when its looking like I have used more than I have coveted I get the craft stash jitters. I am sure I am not the only one that feels like this :)

So here is what I used :

Magnolia rubber stamp, champange encore ink, green card (craftwork cards), cricut to cut the frame, cuttlebug folder, leaves, flower and star from bottle of primas (craftwork cards) the cinnemon (spl) heart was something I got many moons ago from the craft barn - RIP, snowflake stamp is from Hero Arts and lastly the ribbon is woodware.

Magnolia revisited - Christmas or not?

Magnolias are beautiful and I havent had mine for that long but they were put away and some un-inked so I decided when I took the boys up for bed last night I would go into my room and make a card. I was pleased how it turned out :)

This card could be Christmas, could be everyday... I love the colours.
I have seen this cross done with ribbons on a few blogs, I really liked it. The beautiful flower and star was from a Prima bottle that my mate Kym got for me from Alley Pally, Thanks Kym, they are stunning!
The paper was from Craftwork Cards. And I paper pieced her top and hair ties. Enjoy!

Another wall frame made yesterday

After finishing my coaster hanging I was inspired to decorate a frame that I have had hanging about for ages. I have one of these on the wall with pictures of Harvey and his name in chipboard it much more simple. This one I went to town on, lots of bits and bobs used to make it. This frame is BIG, to get an idea the size the background paper is 12 x 12, yep, a full sheet! and then there is another 6" to the left of the paper.

OK here is what I used : Cricut Plantin Schoolbook card for words, Doodlecharms for bugs, 12 x 12 paper and card. The photo is 8 x 10 I believe, Prima flowers and Doodlebug Jewels used for the centres of flowers (who says boys cant have flowers?) Zoomz on the bugs shells.

I love it, its something like a memory page but better still you can see it all the time :) I am definately going to spend more time on making things like this :)

I hope you are liking my "out of my box" creations. Its fun to try different things sometimes.
I am pondering on adding the words either "forever" or "always" to the bottom of the frame in the opposites attract font.... might look cute :)

Ohhh another card!

After tea tonight I left Darren and the boys in the garden and just went to made a card. It felt good after a long day with the boys and the neighbours girl it was a welcome break. I stamped the image yesterday and coloured this in last night in bed. I thought about my dirty knees from earlier in the day when I was weeding so I decided to add some dirty spots to bellas outfit! I love the colours of this one. I put the image through the cuttlebug after I coloured it. Instead of putting the folder through in the normal way I put it through long side first to make the image fit through, most of the image is hanging out of the folder. I thought this was pritty neat. I used three of my beloved primas on here and finished the centres of the flowers with doodlebug gems. [click picture to make it bigger]

Of all the pritty things, stamps, flowers, ribbons and papers I have two most precious and beautiful things.... I know you have all seen a lot of them... of course I am talking about my precious boys. Having the school holiday is tough. Of course I love both of them to death but as any mother will know its hard work. I am sure there will be a lot of counting to ten over these coming five weeks. I will look back on my blog and find these photos taken today. My happy, smiling, beautiful boys! I love you both SOOOOO much, just dont like what you do sometimes!

Awww you can see the love here can you? Harvey is the bestest big brother (apart from mine) ever. He loves his little brother and is very protective.

Two peas in a pod! Apart from the eyes that is.

Bella Box

ABOVE is the BIG view of the box - below are close ups of the sides ect

I have had fun getting all girlie and blingy these last few days. Fitting it in between naps ect and I can finally reveal it. I am not totally happy with it, I feel the front needs "something" else, I might add the word "Caz's" above the bellas . I will re post if I do.

There are a few photos, front sides and back ect. my camera is a bit blurry today, I keep taking new photos and its the same each time. Sorry!

Doodlebug Designs for some of the ribbons, all the jewels and the coloured papers www.theglitterpot.co.uk . Embossing is done using the cuttlebug. The stamps are Stamping Bellas for the girls and Inky Antics for the "Bellas" wording. I coloured using Twinkling H20's again www.theglitterpot.co.uk

This box is being used to store my Bellas. I currently have 16 in there, I figurerd I could fit
loads more. I also at present am storing in there a inkpad, scissors, glue stick and acrylic block in there so I almost have everything ready to go for some stamping fun.

As so often is the case, I do believe this looks nicer in real life, I am terrible at taking photos!
There are more photos in the slideshow to the right of this text.
Enjoy looking and please do let me know what you think!

Seeing ducks...

I joined the bella image swap on the yahoogroup and I chose to stamp "bubblebella". I had to stamp almost 70 and in the middle of stamping these images I started seeing ducks! I am sure Em didnt mean for a duck to be in the bath with Bella, BUT once I had seen it I couldnt get it out of my head, I also couldnt wait to make a card and show you all!! I have coloured the bubble by her leg in yellow, the part that is bellas leg I coloured orange as the ducks bill and doesnt it look cute!!

Image coloured with watercolour pencils and aquabrush. Mounted onto a cuttlebugged card using the bubbles embossing plate, I swiped over this with a brilliance blue ink pad. I cut the edges of the stamped panel with my new toy, the Cutterpede and the scalloped cutting blade, how cute! I cut the wording with the cuttlebug font "you're not the boss of me" and added some pritty ribbon from Hobby Lobby (via Candice), added a flower and a beautiful brad from my NSSS Sherilin. Added two PP also. Once assembled I added glitter glue to the letters and bubbles.

I dont know who this card is for, I guess it could be for all women who tend to keep the world running!! So watch your mail boxes everyone... it might just come your way!

Girls just wanna have fun!

Flower ribbon Card

And I have been having fun with these two girlies. These are fab stamps from www.pennyblackinc.com (via www.glitterpot.co.uk) They have been coloured with watercolour pencils and aqua brush.

The background paper is doodlebug, the gem is doodlebug also. Needed a flower for this card, but the glitter pot does not have many for sale so I thought I would make my own with ribbon. I swiped the pink ribbon with orchid brilliance ink to make it a bit brighter.

Ice Cream Fun

For this card I was inspired by the girls ice cream to make a fun circle background. I punched three large circles in fun colours. These were stuck onto a pink base card. I used a black thin pen to add stitching marks. I stamped a small circle with a white brilliance inkpad. I outlined the circles with crystal glitter glue. The girl was stamped and coloured with watercolour pencils. The wording circle is also Penny Black. Added a prima flower and doodlebug gem.

I was really pleased with both cards. Got to make two more girlie cards tonight, using the sizzix "so girlie" dies. I'll post them tomorrow :)
