Shrink Plastic Key Chains with Lavinia Stamps

Hello Dear friends and fans of "Lavinia" Stamps!:

Another challenge over at Lavinia's Challenge Blog, starts this month with the teme: "anything but a card"

Here it is my take ...for my DT assigment....
make some key chains with "Shrink Plastic" using the adorable "Lavinia Stamps"...

Here I used them on my painting bag....

as extra little adornments to my key chain ....

You will need :
- shrink plastic,
- a heat gun,
- a metal "stick" (I used a needle for crochet),
- a heat resistant metal surface, I Placed under my metal tray a towel and a craft sheet,
- a hole punch for the hole
- and of course the Stamps...

Rabbit:
left is the result of the "shrink-ed" size
right is the original size of the shrink plastic before heating...
same for the other 2 images on the jar....

STEPS:
First, I die cut the shapes
then I stamped the images on the surface with black archival ink ...
be aware that the surface is very slippery so stamp carefully ...
then heat with heat gun, holding the item through the punched hole with the needle...

NOTE: let the plastic curled ...it will  flatten by itself!!!

The end result....
a mini version of the original size in a hard plastic...great for embellishments or here as key chains...

The second set I used  it on my scissors to identify them from my other students in class...

or can be used as embellishments on your handmade cards...
card made using the same stamp...

Tempt your luck

Using "Shrink" plastic as Embellishments or Charms

Hello Dear Stamper Friends:
The firts time that I discovered this product I was amazed...
Do you know it?
It is called "Polyshrink" or "Shrinky Dinks" plastic.
It comes in white, clear, frosted, black and they are sheets of plastic that when heated they Shrink...

I decided to show you how to use this fun product first as a charm ...here to ID my scissors or any other craft tool , specially when you are in crops or classes and everybody has same items this is a good way to spot your things and not lose them...

In this picture I show you how to use it:
1st, you die cut or cut the shape that you like in this plastic, I use a Memory Box die
2nd stamp or color image ("Copic" markers, "Prismacolor" pencils or  permanent inks) ,
3rd, make a hole to insert ribbon, and lastly  heat emboss with  heat gun the plastic
the result is that it shrinks...

NOTE: if you sand the plastic before stamping; your charm will not be shiny...so if you want it shiny, skip this step... mine is sanded so it looks frosted...

You can make fun little embellishements to wear in bracelets or put in your cards or scrapbook pages...see the actual size of the dies and the end result...

Here I decided to put it as an embellishements for a card on the "thread spool"..which is perfect for somebody who likes to sew, knit, crochet etc... and send it on a birthday, for a thank you or a simple hello card...

In this card I used dies from past and current collection releases of Memory Box...see supplies below...I stamped the botanical stamps directly into the designer's paper, from Memory Box too.

These paper pads are so pretty, soft and feminine and they come in 6x6...
and Voilà!...

THANK YOU so much for the lovely comments that I read every day.
I will be back to share with you some more projects ...keep on crafting...
