Color Throwdown Challenge #357

Hello everyone!! It's Wednesday and time for this weeks Color Throwdown Challenge!! Since it's my turn to host the challenge, I went to Pinterest to find a little inspiration. The minute I saw the white tiger picture I knew this was the one!!!! Isn't he gorgeous!!! The colors this week are: pink, blue, white, and black.

My card features stamps and dies from Papertrey Ink's Make It Market Kit: Nostalgic Notions.  The flowers and leaves were stamped with Bashful Blue ink, cut out with the coordinationg dies, and popped up on dimentinals. The heart was cut out of Pink Pirouette cardstock and the button and twine were popped up on top.

The sentiment, background patterned paper, the die cut white layer, and graphic stamped in pink were also from the kit and the the black enamel dots in the flower centers finish it off.

Remember, be sure to add CTD357 to the keywords section when you upload your cards to an online gallery so we can find your creations!! Also, please use #ctd357 and #colorthrowdown on social media sites.

Happy Birthday To You!!!!

Hello everyone!! I had a little time to play yesterday and since I love the Color Throwdown colors Jodi picked for this week I just had to make another card!!! It features the sweet flower stamps from the PTI set called Flower Fusion #9. The flowers were stamped with Versamark onto kraft cardstock and embossed with white ep.

The *grass* was created by using a Versamark pen to draw the curve and it was also embossed with white ep. The sentiment is from the same set and it was also embossed with white ep.

Enamel dots were used for the flower centers and cording and a curved corner finishes it off.

Thanks for popping in today....hope you find a little time to craft today, too!!!

You've Been On My Mind

Hello everyone!!! I just had to make another card with this week's Color Throwdown colors: blue, red, and yellow!! I love this color combo and since I was the hostess this week, I got to pick my favorite colors...Woot!!!

My anniversary was June 12, however, my hubs was on a fishing trip so guess what...I bought my own anniversary present!!! I bought the new Papertrey Ink Nostalgic Notions kit...I just love the retro look to the papers and stamps!!!

The background paper is from the paper pack and the flower stamps and dies were used for the stacked flowers. The yellow scalloped layer was created with the die and stamp from the kit....it was stamped with Versamark and embossed with white ep.

Thanks for stopping by...have a great day!!!!

Color Throwdown #299

Hello everyone and welcome to this weeks Color Throwdown Challenge!!! Isn't that a fun patriotic color combo...I would really like to have a few of those cookies right now!!! I have been dieting for the past month and doing without sugar that long has made me a grumpy grandma...maybe I should eat some goodies to protect my wonderful family!!!! Sounds like a plan to me...LOL!!!! Anyway....Tammy is our hostess this week and I love the colors she chose. Instead of a patriotic card, I made something fun and summery....

My little round card features stamps from Paper Smooches and the sentiment from Papertrey Ink. The little sail boat from the PS Wicked Nauticool set was paper pieced as was the little fish from the PS Briny Blue set. The clouds are from the Wicked Nauticool set and the Wave die is from the Cat's Pajamas. Spellbinders round and round scalloped dies were used for the card base/port hole and the dew drops finish it off.

Remember, you don't have to use the exact colors.....use what you have as long as they are close to the challenge colors and be sure to add CTD299 to the keywords section when you upload your cards to an online gallery so we can find your creations!!

You will find all the challenge details on the Color Throwdown Blog.

Color Throwdown #283

Hello everyone!! The hostess for this weeks Color Throwdown Challenge is the wonderful Wanda and she has picked a real striking color combo. Since I have Grands staying with me this week for spring break, I went real CAS. I don't have a lot of time because I can't to get out of the kitchen...it seems we just finish one meal and they are ready for another!! We may have to order pizza tonight because I'm already sick of cooking and it's only Wednesday...LOL!!!! Anyway....

My card features stamps from Papertrey Ink's Mums the Word set. The mums were stamped with Tangerine Tango and the leaves and stems were stamped with Certainly Celery. The Savvy Dies thanks die was used to cut the sentiment out of Basic Gray card stock and the sewing and enamel dots finish  it off.

I hope these pretty colors inspire you to join our challenge...I'd love to see what you create!!!!

Remember, you don't have to use the exact colors.....use what you have as long as they are close to the challenge colors and be sure to add CTD283 to the keywords section when you upload your cards to an online gallery so we can find your creations!!

TLC340 Embossed Kisses

Hello everyone...it's my turn to host the TLC challenge on Splitcoast and this weeks challenge has come to us from the very talented Susan Roberts...it's called Embossed Kisses!!! She created a tutorial for this technique on her blog...check it out!!

My card features ornament stamps from Papertrey Ink's Vintage Ornaments. Each ornament was "kissed" just a little bit differently. The red one was inked up with Riding Hood Red and kissed on a dry diamond shaped embossing folder before stamping it on the white cardstock. The light green one was inked with River Rock and kissed on a snowflake folder that was inked up with Old Olive. The small round ornament was inked with Old Olive and kissed on a swirly folder that was inked with black. The ornaments were all cutout and adhered to the doily with pop dots. The doily was cutout using a Papertrey Ink doily die, the scallop was made with a Papertrey Ink scallop die, sewing was done around the edges of the background paper, and the seam binding, felt snowflake, button, and Baker's Twine finish it off.
Recipe: Stamps: Papertrey Ink Vintage Ornaments
Paper: Authentique's Wonder dp, Vanilla, Riding Hood Red
Ink: River Rock, Riding Hood Red, Old Olive, Black
Accessories: Gold Cording, Seam Binding, Felt Snowflake from Little Yellow Bicycle, Button, Baker's Twine, Doily Die from PTI, Scallop Die from PTI, Sewing Machine, Embossing Folders

Thanks for stopping by....come join us for the Technique Lover's Challenge on Splitcoast!! I would love to see what you create!!!!

Hi, Sweetness!!

Good Sunday morning everyone.....this will be a quick post this morning.....my DGD Mackenzie spent the night and I need to get her up for breakfast and then we both have to get ready for church. Anyway....
I colored and paper pieced this sweet little Pure Innocence image from Papertrey Ink's Lilly of the Valley set...the paper is from the Girls paperie called Kitch. She was cut out and mounted on a PTI doily diecut....pretty simple!! I can't believe I didn't even add a ribbon...yikes!!! I am going to put this in Mackenzie's suitcase so she will find it when she gets home...she is such a sweetie!!

Thanks for stopping by...have a great Sunday!!!

Memorial Day Weekend

Hello everyone...hope you had a great Memorial Day weekend!!! Some of you may still be celebrating with a day off work and a BBQ....there is nothing like a little food with family and friends to make the day complete!!! We took our granddaughter home this afternoon and on the way back we rented a few movies and got take out from the Olive Garden....yummmmm!!!

Anyway....I couldn't let the Memorial Day weekend go by without making a patriotic card. Since we are a military family (retired), Memorial Day has special meaning. This is a fun little card that I will give my DH today....Papertrey Ink's Vintage Picnic set was stamped on the craft and the images were paper pieced with Creative Imaginations dp. The sparkly star and twine finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!!!!

Porch Play Inspiration

Good morning everyone....hope you are having a great week!!! I am going to take Mom and Dad to a nursery this morning to pick out a couple of bushes. They have a planter on the south side of their house that needs a little color...hope we can find something that will withstand the 100+ degree summer weather with full sun!! Their backyard looks sooo pretty with all the blooming iris and amarillas....I just love Spring!! Anyway....

I was really inspired by the Moxie Fab World's Tuesday Trigger Porch Play...such beautiful colors!!! I used the Card Positioning System's #213 sketch and Incy Wincy Designs Challenge to use flowers, also.

The Papertrey Ink Green Thumb flower images were stamped on white cardstock .... the flower and flowerpot were stamped twice and popped up on foam dots. Sewing was done around the background blocks and buttons and twine finish it off.

Recipe: Stamps: PTI Green Thumb, Paper: White, Tempting Turquoise, Memory Box Brioche dp, Ink: Certainly Celery, Poppy Parade, More Mustard, So Saffron, Accessories: Buttons, Baker's Twine, MS Butterfly Punch, Sewing Machine, Nestabilities

Masculine Birthday

Good morning everyone...I have a few minutes before I go to work so I thought I would share a masculine card I made. I have a big problem designing guy cards....why is that anyway??? Maybe it's because I can't use lace, ribbons, bling, pink....LOL!!! For this card I used some awesome paper called Torn by Crate Paper....after cutting the strips, I staggered them on the vanilla cardstock to create a fun bargello pattern. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Birthday Basics, and the cork button and twine finish it off.
Thanks for stopping by today...I will be visiting all my blog friends tonight!!!

Swap Cards

Good morning everyone...I hope you had a great Thanksgiving!! It has taken me 2 days to get back to normal...LOL!!! I have got to get the fall things put away this afternoon and start unpacking the 15 containers of Christmas stuff!! My DD Holly and I are going to a Christmas swap in Georgetown, Texas on December 11 and I have been working on a few designs....I just can't decide on which card to use for the swap. We are to design a card that can be put together in 10 minutes or less and I wanted the card to be flat for mailing.
This card is the flatest.....bling stickers and a Martha Stewart punched snowflake jazz it up a little. A clear Gelly Roll pen adds a little sparkle to the Gina K. snowflakes from The Magic of Christmas set.

The sentiment on this card is from Papertrey Ink's Snowflake Serenade, the red snowflake was made with an EK success Punch, and the pearl finishes it off.

This is my first choice....it's really flat and shiny with the Gelly Roll pen on the snowflakes. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Holiday Button Bits set.

Thanks for stopping by ....I hope you have a great Sunday!!!

More Craft Sale Goodies

Hello everyone!! Today is the big day...the craft sale starts at 9:00. Before I head out I wanted to show you the rest of the card set designs I made...hope they all sell!!!

This fun set was made with the Blossom Nestabilities for the flower and a Stampin Up! die was used for the leaves. The Paper Studio dp is from Hobby Lobby and the bag was made from PTI's Plum Pudding cardstock and Plum Pudding ribbon. Sentiment is from PTI's Communique Sentiments.

This set uses the Nativity image and sentiment from Lizzie Anne Design's Silent Night set...the image was stamped with Versafine Black Onyx and embossed with clear ep. The Basic Grey Jovial dp, gold pearls, and a gold ribbon finish it off.

Don't ya just love that Jovial dp...it's sooo pretty!!

My last set uses stamps from Papertrey Ink's Christmas Friends set. They were stamped with Kiwi Kiss, Perfect Plum, and Marina Mist onto Pure Luxury Ivory cardstock. The ornament was popped up on dimensionals and a few pearls were added for a little glam.

Whew.....everything is finished and ready to sell!!! I can't wait to see what everyone else is bringing!!! Have a great weekend!!!

Fall Fun

Hello everyone!!! Are you ready for Halloween??? It doesn't seem possible that today is
October 31.....where did the summer go!! My DH has been working on his Halloween *Haunted Yard* display for two days now. I will have some pictures for you tomorrow...I can't wait for all the Grands to see it!!! Anyway.....
I spent most of yesterday creating in the craft room with fall papers and stamps....I just love the warm, pretty colors of nature this time of year!!! I also wanted to play around with my new owl punch from Stampin Up!....I LOOOVE it!!! I used papers from K&Co. Fall Harvest dp and the branch from Schlosser Designs Boughs stamp set was stamped with Chocolate Chip, cutout, and adhered to the dp. The owl pieces were glued together and attached with dimensionals. The button with twine and the sentiment from Whiff of Joy's 2009 Fall Stamp kit finish it off. I had lots of scraps left over from my first card and decided to make another fall card. The images from Papertrey Ink's First Fruits were stamped on Apricot Appeal and matted with Really Rust that was run through the Cuttlebug with an embossing folder. The card base is Pure Luxury Chocolate Brown and the rust colored twill, button and twine are the only embellishments.
These cards are also for a few challenges:
2. Drunken Stampers - no copics
3. Secret Stampers Saturday Challenge - anything that flies
4. Paper Garden Projects Challenge - any Holiday (Thanksgiving)
5. Pattie's Creations Design Challenge - color challenge: yellow, orange, red, brown

It's a Tuesday Trigger and a Shabby Halloween

Good morning everyone....we have had a little excitment around here. Midnight was stung somewhere around her left eye yesterday and we had to have the vet come and take a look. Her vision was ok but her eye was swollen shut!! She received a steriod shot and today she is able to open it. Hopefully, she will be back to normal is a couple of days. It's amazing how animals try to communicate their feelings...she was so still and not like herself. She would stop eating and just look at me....as if asking me what I was going to do about her problem. It was so sad... like having one of my own children in pain!! Anyway
....above is the Tuesday Trigger on the Moxie Fab World Blog....an Abstract Folk Art Painting by Catherine Horvath Buchanan. Aren't the colors gorgeous!!!
I found my inspiration from the colors and the beautiful fall scene...the rolling hills were created with Basic Grey's Sugar Rush dp and sewing was done along the edges. Cosmo Cricket's Fly a Kite dp was used for the sun and the tree bases and sentiment were stamped with Papertrey Ink's Everyday Button Bits stamps. The leaves were stamped with More Mustard, Old Olive, and Really Rust. The buttons with twine finish it off.

I made this card for the Shabby Tea Room's challenge to make a shabby Halloween card. A Crafty Secrets Vintage Booklet Seasonal Picture was distressed around the edges and mounted on black matting. It was adhered over the chipboard tree from Little Yellow Bicycle and Martha Stewart punched bats give it a spooly look. Piercing was done around the background layer with the sewing machine, then the edges were distressed. The spider web and sentiment were stamped with stamps from Crafty Secrets Halloween Fun set and the ribbon bow, flowers, button, and twine finish it off.
This is also for a few other challenges:
1. Paper Playtime - ribbon, buttons, or rhinestones
2. The Character Cafe - 2 embellishments, ribbon, and the color orange
4. Stamptacular Sunday Challenge - at least 5 layers (I have 5)
5. Paper Sundaes - use something from your stash (I used the lace, flowers, and designer paper)
6. Sentimental Sundays - Autumn or Fall

Waltzingmouse Sketch, Color Throw Down, and a Tea Party!!!

Hello everyone!!! I finally had a little time to stamp this evening while I watched Project Runway...love that show!!! Anyway...I made this for the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge #16 (BTW, I was one of the Top Mouse Award winners last week...Whoohoo!!!) and I used the pretty colors from this weeks Color Throwdown Challenge #112: Old Olive, Riding Hood Red, and Pumpkin Pie. The flowers were stamped with Waltzingmouse Stamps Sewing Box Hugs set and papers from Basic Grey's Sugar Rush papers. The button, twine, and the Candy Dots finish it off.

This is also for a few other challenges:
1. C.R.A.F.T. Challenge Blog - Fancy Florals
2. Stamp Simple #159 - think in 3's
3. Sisterhood of Crafters - use 3 flowers on your card
4. Caardvarks - clean and simple
5. Creative Card Crew Challenge - flowers
6. Craft Your Passion Challenge - clean and simple
7. Paper Cupcakes - fall inspiration

This is the card I made on Tuesday for this weeks Color Challenge on Splitcoast to use Basic Gray, Daffodil Delight, and Rose Red. My dessert option was blue. I had a hard time with the yellow, though...the flower centers in the background paper were punched from a scrap of yellow cardstock and glued to centers...not a whole lot of yellow but at least it's there!!! This is also for da Mudders Teapot Tuesday challenge to help Summer win the Tutu by bringing stash that's worth all of the cash! We were to gussy up our cards with lots of stuff...ribbon, bling, flowers...ya know, all the things we love to hoard!!! I used the Mojo Monday Sketch #158 for the layout...stamped the adorable little teapot from PTI's Tea for Two set with Ballet Blue Craft ink and embossed with clear ep. The little metal flowers with the blingy centers are from Making Memories and the ribbon and pearls finish it off.
Recipe:
Stamps: PTI's Tea for Two
Paper: White, Basic Grey, Summer Sun, Stampin Up dp
Ink: Basic Grey, Ballet Blue
Accessories: Ribbon, Pearls, Metal Flowers, Clear ep

Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger

Good morning everyone...hope all is well with you and yours today!!! We have been staying inside much of the time the last few days because of the 100+ degree weather...it even got up to 106 one day...yikes!!! Have you been watching the Pillars of the Earth mini series??? We don't get the channel it's on but borrowed some copies....I read the book series by Ken Follett and it's wonderful!!! Anyway....on to the Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger...don't ya just love the colors on this beautiful box!!!
I found my inspiration from the colors and the drawers....I used papers from Stampin Up! and Basic Grey's Marrakeck for the blocks in the background and the wood bird cage and bird from Kaisercraft. The brads and ribbon finish it off.
Recipe:
Papers: Basic Grey's Marrakech, Stampin Up dp, Metallic Silver, Really Rust
Accessories: Kaisercraft Wood Bird Cage and Bird, Ribbon, Brads

Splitcoast's Sketch Challenge and Queen for the Day #22 Challenge

I used the Sketch Challenge on Splitcoast to create a card for our Queen for the Day challenge......none other than the wonderful and ooooh sooo famous Cindy (Mothermark)!!! I can't think of anyone more deserving of this honor...she has the biggest heart of any stamper I know and is a sweetheart to boot!! Don't tell her I said that cause she tends to get a case of the big head so mum is the word!! Now, I gotta tell ya, her gallery is like no other....check it out here. She is a one of a kind artist and there is noooo way this humble stamper could ever case one of her masterpieces and do it justice so I used lots of polka dots (Cindy's trademark) and a teapot to represent her two years of teapot challenges. I know, I know...I took the easy way out but since I am old and feeble, I can get away with it...LOL!!!
The teapot from Papertrey Ink's Tea For Two set was stamped with Pretty in Pink and rock n rolled with Regal Rose. It was then run through the cuttlebug with the Dotted Swiss folder. Another teapot image was stamped with Pretty in Pink, rock n rolled, cutout, and popped up over the other image with dimensionals. Lace, ribbon, button, and silver cording finish it off.
Recipe:
Stamps: Papertrey Ink's Tea For Two
Paper: White, Black, Pink Pirouette, scraps of dp
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose
Accessories: Ribbon, Lace, Button, Silver Cording, Foam Tape
Thanks for visiting today....since I have been playing all morning, I better get busy on this messy house and visit some of my favorite blogs....have a wonderful day and stay cool!!!!
