Fall Fun

Hello everyone!!! Are you ready for Halloween??? It doesn't seem possible that today is
October 31.....where did the summer go!! My DH has been working on his Halloween *Haunted Yard* display for two days now. I will have some pictures for you tomorrow...I can't wait for all the Grands to see it!!! Anyway.....
I spent most of yesterday creating in the craft room with fall papers and stamps....I just love the warm, pretty colors of nature this time of year!!! I also wanted to play around with my new owl punch from Stampin Up!....I LOOOVE it!!! I used papers from K&Co. Fall Harvest dp and the branch from Schlosser Designs Boughs stamp set was stamped with Chocolate Chip, cutout, and adhered to the dp. The owl pieces were glued together and attached with dimensionals. The button with twine and the sentiment from Whiff of Joy's 2009 Fall Stamp kit finish it off. I had lots of scraps left over from my first card and decided to make another fall card. The images from Papertrey Ink's First Fruits were stamped on Apricot Appeal and matted with Really Rust that was run through the Cuttlebug with an embossing folder. The card base is Pure Luxury Chocolate Brown and the rust colored twill, button and twine are the only embellishments.
These cards are also for a few challenges:
2. Drunken Stampers - no copics
3. Secret Stampers Saturday Challenge - anything that flies
4. Paper Garden Projects Challenge - any Holiday (Thanksgiving)
5. Pattie's Creations Design Challenge - color challenge: yellow, orange, red, brown
6. Stampin for the Weekend - Halloween or fall
Thanks for stopping by....have a wonderful Halloween celebration!!!!

The Monthly Stamper's Dream Dreamy Challenge

Hi everyone!! We got back from Canton, Tx earlier today and I started working on this card. Then once Survivor started I could only work on it during the comercials. Did any of you watch the show?? I am sooo glad Bob won!!! Anyway.......I made this card for the monthly Stampers Dream Dreamy Challenge. The rules are as follows: make a card with mostly gray/black and add a splash of color with a little sparkle/bling. Because December weather can be gray and gloomy, let's brighten it up with a little color. The addition of a little white is ok, too. We are to upload the card to our blog or online gallery and add a link to the Stamper's Dream Blog. Use SDDC3 in the keywords section if uploading to Splitcoast. The winner will be drawn on Wednesday...check out Michelle's blog to see all the goodies!!
I used the adorable Penny Black stamp called Greetings from the Wise....stamped it with Basic Gray, colored it with an aqua painter and the BG ink pad, colored the hat with the Real Red marker and the eyes and feet with So Saffron and Yoyo Yellow markers. He was then cutout and attached with dimensionals. The branch from Impress Rubber stamps was stamped with Basic Gray, the snowflakes from the retired Stampin Up set called Bundle Up were stamped with Going Gray, and the sentiment from the retired SU set called Very Merry was stamped with Basic Gray. The layers were all cutout with Nestabilities, the dp is called Elegant from American Crafts, the Martha Stewart punched ferns were used around the sentiment, the ribbon is from Stampin Up!, and I added Dazzling Diamonds to the white areas on the hat.
Thanks for taking a peek tonight....I am off to bed!!! Maybe I can finish my Christmas cards and get a little laundry done tomorrow!! I will also finish decorating the dining room and the family room so I can upload more pictures. Don't ya just love Christmas!!!!!

Featured Stamper Challenge

Good morning, everyone!! I hope you are having a great day today....I couldn't sleep much last night so what is a girl to do but get up and stamp!!!
The Featured Stamper challenge on Splitcoast today is none other than Dawn (Flowergal36) who is such a sweetie and a fabulous stamper all rolled into one!!! Congrats, girly!!!
The card I cased was called Fright Night. I kept the same layout and used stripped paper on the top of the card but changed the theme, colors, papers, Nesties, stamps, and added the ribbon and snowflakes. I stamped the adorable penguin from Kim Hughes' Christmas Critters by Cornish Heritage Farms twice with Ranger Black Soot Distress Ink from Rubbernecker Stamps ( I have found that the Black Soot ink does a fabulous job of complete coverage on solid stamps and it is wet enough to emboss). One image was cutout and attached over the bottom one with dimensionals. The *snow* is torn SU dp and the snowflakes are from Fanciful Flakes by Clear Dollar Stamps. The little Santa cap was stamped, colored with a red copic, cutout, and attached with a glue dot. The sentiment, from the same CHF's set was also stamped with Black Soot, cut out with Nesties, and attached with dimensionals. SU ribbon and punched snowflakes with a Dew Drop center finish it off.
Thanks for stopping by this morning...have a great Sunday!!
Recipe: Christmas Critters by CHF, Fanciful flakes by CDS

Color Challenge 188 and Mojo Madness Contest Weel #56

It's 7:10 PM and I finally finished my Splitcoast Tuesday color challenge card!! I also used the sketch for Julee's Mojo Madness Contest Week #56. The colors for today were Pink Pirouette and Black in honor of Breast Cancer Awarness Month. I decided to let my little owl girls from Sassafras have a night out in the trees. The background paper, which I bought at my LSS and has no name on the back, is covered with glittery trees. I used the largest round Nestie to cut it out. The pink background was embossed with the Swiss Dot Cuttlebug folder, the owls were stamped with Ranger Distress Ink Black Soot, and attached with dimensionals. The star layers were punched out and the sentiment stamp is from Inkadinkado. Thanks for visiting and I will have something special for you tomorrow!! I finished a card with images sent to me by Melanie Muenchinger....can't wait for you to see the darling card she sent, too!! Have a wonderful evening!!
Stamps: Sassafras, Inkadinkado
Paper: Pink Pirouette, Black, White, Glittery Black Tree dp
Ink: Ranger Black Soot
