Color Throwdown #165 and Creative Belli Challenge #129


Hello everyone!!! It's Wednesday and time for another Color Throwdown!! The lovely Laura is our hostess today and she came up with this fabulous color combo inspired by Crate Paper's Farmhouse dp.

This is also for the Creative Belli's 1-2-3-4 Challenge ...I used 1 button, 2 birds, 3 flowers, and 4 pearls.

The adorable Stampavie image called Blossom Birds was colored with Copics and I used Jen's October SFYTT sketch. The paper is from Stampin Up!  and sewing, a Cherry Lynn Flourish die, lace, pearls, seam binding, button, and twine finish it off.

Color Throwdown #163 and Creative Belli Challenges #128

Hello everyone!!! It's Wednesday and time for another Color Throwdown!! The lovely Barb is our hostess today and she came up with this fabulous color combo inspired by Bo Bunny's Blitzen dp.
This is also for the Creative Belli Challenge to use Flower Soft, Felt, or Chunky Glitter...I used a felt rose.

 
Sewing was done around the edges of the Crafty Secrets Cotton Scrap and sewing and distressing finished  the edges of the background layers. The Baja Breeze layer was embossed with a pumpkin vine folder and then a white ink pad was run over the popped out pumpkins.   Pearl flourishs, ribbon, lace, and a felt rose finish it off.

Creative Belli Challenge #127

Hello everyone and welcome to another Creative Belli Challenge!!! The challenge this two weeks is to use paper piecing.  Remember, the spirit of the Belli challenges is to encourage you to use your OLD and FORGOTTEN embellishments!
For my card today, I used the Rubbernecker Fashion Lady Jeanne #494-07 stamp....it was paper pieced with papers from My Minds Eye Lost and Found paper and Soft Sky was sponged on the edges while the image was still in the Nestabilities die. The skin was colored with copics, sewing was done around the background edges, a doily was added to the lower half and lace was added to the side of the image. The sentiment was from Rubbernecker's Fashion Icon's set #456  and  the seam binding, button, and twine finish it off.

Creative Belli Challenge #126

Hello everyone and welcome to another Creative Belli Challenge!!! The challenge this two weeks is to use String. You can use string in a button, make a bird's nest out of it, stem for flowers, tree branches, roof of a house, etc......what ever your little heart desires!! Remember, the spirit of the Belli challenges is to encourage you to use your OLD and FORGOTTEN embellishments!

This is the #4 Halloween set for my Grands...6 more to go!! Papers from Stampin Up!, My Minds Eye, and Echo Park were used along with Stamps from Rubbernecker's Halloween Set #1 SKU:743 and Rubbernecker's Halloween Set #3  SKU:475 for the sentiment. The witch, tree, bats, from set 1 and the sentiment from set 3 were stamped with Versafine Onyx Black and embossed with clear ep. A circle was punched in a piece of paper, laid over the witch and sponged with really rust for a harvest moon. Baker's Twine was used for the Belli Challenge....it was hand sewn in a zig zag pattern on the patterned paper, tied around the layers and tied onto a ghost charm, and tied into the buttons on the ribbon.

Creative Belli Challenge #125

Hello everyone and welcome to another Creative Belli Challenge!!! The challenge this two weeks is to use acetate or vellum on your creation. You can use acetate to stamp on, create shapes, snowflakes, or create a window effect or box; vellum can be used for a sentiment, scallop, or background...what ever your little heart desires!! Remember, the spirit of the Belli challenges is to encourage you to use your OLD and FORGOTTEN embellishments!
My Christmas card features stamps from The Little Paper Shop...the sentiment is from the Global set and the bird is from the Christmas Wishes set. Retired Stampin Up! snowflake vellum was sewn onto a piece of red dp and the scallop was made from a piece of vellum that was embossed with the Dotted Swiss embossing folder. The Candy Dots, seam binding, button, twine, and felt snowflake finish it off.

Creative Belli Challenge #124

Hello everyone and welcome to another Creative Belli Challenge!!! The challenge this two weeks is to use gingham on your creation. You can use gingham paper, stamps, ribbon, fabric...what ever your little heart desires!! My card features this adorable image from Lili of the Valley Stamps. She was colored with copics and the little purse was paper pieced with gingham paper. Gingham paper was used in the background and ribbon, twine, and a button finish it off.

Creative Belli Challenge #122

Hello everyone!! Hope all is going well with you today!! Welcome to another Creative Belli Challenge!! The challenge for this two weeks is a Christmas inspiration challenge. Our inspiration piece is this beautiful Christmas china that belongs to our design team member, Karen Wallace. Thank you Karen for providing us with such lovely inspiration to create our cards and projects.

For my card, I colored the wreath image from Flourishes Christmas Wreath set with copics and the sentiment is from Flourishes christmas classics set. The wood bird from KaiserCraft, seam binding, pearl brad, and the punched corners finish it off. Yeaaaaa, another Christmas card for my stash!!!

Creative Belli Challenge #121

Welcome to another Creative Belli Challenge!! The challenge this two weeks is to make a card or project with CUSTOM MADE BELLIES - make your own embellishments (custom dye ribbon, crochet your own flowers, make your own paper flowers, make your own paper buttons, etc...)

My card features the adroable stamp from Lilli of the Valley. It was colored with copics and mounted over doilies. The diecut flowers and buttons were made using Basic Grey Sweet Threads dp, a Martha Stewart punch was used for the leaves, and the Baker's Twine finishes it off.

Creative Belli Challenge #120


Welcome to another Creative Belli Challenge!! The challenge this two weeks is to make a card or project with things that start with a G!! You can use glitter, grass, glamour, gems, gauze, or make a giftcard holder, game card, or geometric design...what ever your little heart desires!!! Be sure to use something old and forgotten from your stash, too...the Belli Challenge is all about using your old stuff and forgotten treasures!!!

My card features the adorable Girlfriend stamp and sentiment from Woodware Stamps. The Girls were colored with copics, cutout, and popped up over the cloud and wave dp scraps and the kraft sand. The Gulls from the same set were stamped with Versafine Onyx Black and the Grass was made with a MFT's Die-namics. The castle, pelican, and the Grass stamp used on the kraft *sand* are from Rubbernecker's Kittie Kits #6 and #2 . To finish it off, the Girls were Glammed up a bit with Glitter .

Creative Belli Challenge #119



Welcome to another Creative Belli Challenge!! The challenge this two weeks is to make a card or project with a branch - you can use a branch stamp, real branch, punched branch, branch on patterned paper, or draw one yourself!! Be sure to use something old and forgotten from your stash, too...the Belli Challenge is all about using your old stuff and forgotten treasures!!!

My branch is from Taylored Expressions Branching Out set....all the stamps were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics. The birdhouse and birds were all stamped on scrap white cardstock, colored, cutout, and attached with foam dots. The designer papers were from Memory Box's Brioche collection and a MFT's Die-namics was used for the scallops. Sewing around the background layers, Baker's Twine, and a button finish it off.

Creative belli Challenge #118

Welcome to another Creative Belli Challenge!! The challenge this two weeks is to make a card or project with things from your..TOOL SHED - bring out those forgotten tools (button maker, cropadile, eyelet setter, tag maker, etc...) I used a crimper for the tree and a cloud die that I haven't used is quite a while.
Be sure to use something old and forgotten from your stash, too...the Belli Challenge is all about using your old stuff and forgotten treasures!!!

My card features the adorable Perky Plants set from Paper Smooches....the flowers and bee were paper pieced with Stella Rose Paper from My Minds Eye and the sentiment was stamped on the cloud diecut from Taylored Expressions. The tree was cutout of a piece of Stella Rose dp and crimped with a crimper..... sewing was done around the background edges. The grass was cutout with MFT's Fresh Cut Grass Die-namics and the Baker's Twine and button finish it off.

Creative Belli Challenge #117

Welcome to another Creative Belli Challenge!! The challenge this two weeks is to make a card or project with things that start with the letter "S" (spots, stripes, swirls, stars, shells, sandpaper, stickers)...I used a silhouette, sewing, scallops and stripes in the bacground.

The Flourish Silhouette Stamp from Rubbernecker was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black onto the Basic Grey paper, cutout with the Nestabilities Labels 10, and matted on a black layer. The scalloped layer was cutout wth a Spellbinders die, the striped paper is from Fancy Pants dp called It's the Little Things, and the sewing, pearls, pearl flourishes, and silk ribbon finish it off.

Creative Belli Challenge #116

Welcome to another Creative Belli Challenge!! The challenge this two weeks is to make a card or project with a Royal Theme in honor of Prince William's wedding (fleur de lis, diamonds, princess, crowns, tiaras, the color purple, etc......)!! Be sure to use something old and forgotten from your stash, too...the Belli Challenge is all about using your old stuff and forgotten treasures!!!

My card features Rubbernecker's Paris 1908 set...the background was stamped on kraft c/s with several different stamps from the set using Perfect Plum and Elegant Eggplant for a collage effect. The crown was stamped with Elegant Eggplant, cutout, popped up with foam dots and silver pearls were added for a little glam. The couple was stamped onto vanilla c/s with Elegant Eggplant and distressed with Ranger's Vintage Photo. The fancy silver dodad under the image is my old thing along with the ribbon...I have had both of them for over a year!!

Creative Belli Challenge #115

My card today features the adorable stamps from My Cute Stamps set called Jelly Beans. The images were colored with copics, cutout, and attached to the square cut Nestabilities background that was sponged with clouds. The grass Die-namics Die from My Favorite Things, seam binding, lace, brad, and twine finish it off. I used the Mojo Monday Sketch #186 and the following additional challenges:

Creative Belli Challenge #114

Welcome to another Creative Belli Challenge!! The challenge this two weeks is to Think Seamstress!! This can include buttons, sewing, sewing stamps, notions, pins......what ever your little heart desires!!! Be sure to use something old and forgotten from your stash, too...the Belli Challenge is all about using your old stuff and forgotten treasures!!!

I used the sketch from the Walzingmouse Sketch Challenge and a Waltzingmouse stamp set called Sewing Box - Hugs. I just love these little stamps...they look like sewing has been done around the edges with all the tiny stitches!! Sewing was done around the background edges and the banners, background paper, and the flowers were all cut from American Crafts dp called The Color of Memories. The sentiment is from the same set and the buttons, twine, and candy dots finish it off.

Creative Belli Challenge #113

Welcome to another Creative Belli Challenge!! The challenge this two weeks is to use anything that starts with a C on your project!! This can include chipboard, critters, coffee images, coral, candy, Christmas stuff, cats......what ever your little heart desires!!! I created a cityscape and used the celebrate sentiment rub-on!! Be sure to use something old and forgotten from your stash, too...the Belli Challenge is all about using your old stuff and forgotten treasures!!!

My card today is a masculine design...the background was created by first, masking off half of the image and brayering Spiced Marmalade and Barn Door Distress inks on the sky. Then the masking was reversed to mask off the sky and Broken China and Pine Needles were brayered on the opposit end to create the water. Rubbernecker's Skyline stamp was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black at the horizon line and the black twine, button, and rub-on sentiment finish it off.

Creative Belli Challenge #112

Welcome to another Creative Belli Challenge!! The challenge this two weeks is a fun one....use animals on your project!! This can include butterflies, critters, puppy dogs, lady bugs......what ever your little heart desires!!! Be sure to use something old and forgotten from your stash, too...the Belli Challenge is all about using your old stuff and forgotten treasures!!!

I have several little boy birthday cards to make so this challenge was perfect for my DGS Cody...he loves dinosaurs!!

The dinosaurs from Our Craft Lounge's Dino-Mite set were colored with Copics, cutout, and attached to the background that was created with a grass die from MFT's and a sponged sky. The designer paper is from My Minds Eye called Abby Road and the sentiment from the same set and a button with twine finishes it off.
This is also for a few other challenges:

2. Delightful Challenges - use your scraps (scraps were used for the grass, sentiment, and the dinos)
3. Shannon's Sentiments - fussy cutting
4. Wags 'n Whiskers - punches (sentiment and star)

Color Throwdown and Belli Challenges


Hello everyone...it's Wednesday and time for another Color Throwdown Challenge!!! Cathy chose some awesome colors this week: Ballet Blue, Light Green, and Dark Green! I used the Sweet Sunday Sketch #104 for my layout and the Rubbernecker Wildflower stamp for the foliage. The sentiment is from Rubbernecker's Party Time set. The foliage was stamped with Certainly Celery and Wild Wasabi...the papers are from Basic Grey's Kioshi and the butterflies were punched from Ballet Blue cardstock. The lace, pearls, and sewing finish it off.

Creative Belli Challenge #111
Welcome to another Creative Belli Challenge!! The challenge this two weeks is a fun one....use felt on your project!! This can include using the felt to make flowers, scallops, butterflies, ribbons, or use felt stickers like I did.....what ever you little heart desires!!! Be sure to use something old and forgotten from your stash, too...the Belli Challenge is all about using your old stuff and forgotten treasures!!!
The adorable little Woolies from Basic Grey's Indian Summer Collection were added to the layers created with Indian Summer dp. The white background was run through the Cuttlebug with a wood grain folder and distressed with Sahara Sand. The Mojo Monday Sketch # 178 was used for the layout and the pink ribbon and Candy Dots are the finishing touches.

Belli Challenge and some Exciting News!!!


Good morning everyone!! I have some exciting news this morning...I was asked to be February's Guest Designer for the Color Throwdown Challenge Blog...Whoohoo!!! They always have the most wonderful color challenges and their designers are among the best in the business!!! Thanks, ladies...I am thrilled to stamp with you this month!!!

The colors this week are:
The adorable little Tulip Girl from Cornish Heritage Farms was stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and colored with Copics. Sponging and sewing was done around the edges and I used the sketch from the Sweet Sunday Sketch blog. The sentiment is from a retired SU set called Fancy Flexable Phrases and the ribbon, button, and twine finish it off.

Welcome to another Creative Belli Challenge!! The challenge this two weeks is a fun one....use jewelry on your project!! This can include images that have jewelry on them or use *jewels* such as rhinestones, pearls... some of you might have some old jewelry just waiting to be showcased on a card!!! Be sure to use something old and forgotten from your stash, too...the Belli Challenge is all about using your old stuff and forgotten treasures!!!

The fun image from Gina K.'s Sew Pretty set was paper pieced with Cosmo Cricket Early Bird dp and the same paper was used for the background. I blinged up her jewelry with red rhinestones and the background was sponged with So Saffron. An Early Bird chipboard flower was used with a button and twine, a strip of red grosgrain ribbon with Candy Dots covers the seam in the background, and the sentiment stamped on the banner with Real Red was also from the Sew Pretty set.
