I'm Back!

After a somewhat extended crafting break I think I'm back and card making again.

The household has shrunk significantly, Colin moved out on Saturday, Alan the week before so now it's just me, hubby & cats!

So before I get onto my card, here are a few photo's of Colin in his new flat...

His room is tiny and is just one in a flat of 8 boys.

This is the front door to the flat.

And this is the outside of the building - sadly they are on the top floor!

I did hope to get a few more photos, but tears got in the way - mine obviously not Colin's!  He however is delighted to be a student, loves his flat and is getting on well with his flat mates.  Hopefully this will continue to be the case once Freshers Week is over and the real work begins.

Now, my card, made for a wedding this weekend using lovely Wild Rose Studio papers and a gorgeous Stamping Bella image.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!

Am I showing my age again - hands up if you remember this Cyndi Lauper hit from the 80's? They really don't make video's like that any more do they...thank goodness!

Anyway, back to today and the new challenge over at Moving Along With the Times - set by me, it's...

"Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!"

And here is my fun card using a great Stamping Bella image and some pretty Bo Bunny papers.  Flowers are WOC - ages since I've used any and the doily is pinched from Stella next door!

Now to add a bit of fun to the proceedings, I'm offering the winner a £10 gift voucher from LOTV.

This was to be my blog hop prize last week but due to technical difficulties it never made it to my post.

For more inspiration, please head back to the main MAWTT page where you can see the rest of the DT's great cards.

Now, flipping back to last week and my blog hop winner... well it's comment 34

Finally can I just say that my Race For Life total has now reached £190 for Cancer Research and that I've added a few more photo's from the race for those interested,  Thanks again to any one who sponsored me. Jx

Dies & Punches

Still on scheduled posts I'm afraid, but the end is in sight with the flat re-decorating.  As today is the start of a new challenge over at An Oldie But A Goodie I thought I'd better tell you about it!

The challenge this time is

Dies & Punches
( Please also use something which is older that 6 months on your card and tell us what it is. )

A nice easy one as I think most of us use either one or both of these on just about every card we make!

The sponsor this time is Tonic Studio's who are giving our winner the prize shown on the OBAG blog page.

For my card I used a lovely Stamping Bella stamp bought at the beginning of the year.  The papere are Craft Companion - over a year old, then I used old ribbon, my old MS doily punch and a flower die.

Challenges;
Creative Craft Challenges - Use ribbon
Kaboodledoodles - Anything but square
A Creative Need - Weddings/Anniversary

Happy Holidays

Easter holidays for us this year are home based.  Both boys are heading into exams this next term, so are balancing a bit of study (some days better than others) with visiting relatives and going to the gym.  So this is a quick post before we head out - think I might swim again today as my little legs haven't recovered from the gym from yesterday!

So, my card today, it uses that lovely Stamping Bella image Uptown Girls from my even lovelier friend Laurie! The girls dresses have been paper pieced.

The paper in Nitwits by LOTV - Petal Fresh and the scene is finished off with stars, pearls, Stickles and Glossy Accents.

Challenges;
Sketch Saturday - Sketch 252
Forever Friends - Monthly - Paper Piece
Pan Pastel - Anything Goes
Kraft Journal - Anything Goes + Kraft

Uptown Girls

Remember the Billy Joel song, Uptown Girl, it was in the charts in the late eighties - just as I started dating my hubby.  It was forever playing on juke boxes and in night clubs, then it was taken back into the charts more recently by Westlife.

Anyway, I'm drifting off topic! Back to my card & my fantastic new Stamping Bella stamp from my lovely friend Laurie.

It's such a great stamp and one I'm sure I'll use loads as it's great for girls and perfect for 18th's!

So the paper is Doodlebug, the dresses paper pieced, the glasses glazed and the colouring by Promarker.

Challenges
Sketch Saturday  - Nice easy one this week
Pin-siprational Challenge - Purple No 47
2 Sisters - Pastels

FINALLY - Just got to tell you all about the film we watched last night. Hope Springs with Meryl Streep & Tommy Lee-Jones.  Absolutely brilliant chick flick.  Funny, sad, moving, just a delightful watch, so if you need a feel good film, this is where you should put your money.  Enjoy your evening, Jx

12th March
This has been a good week for me, hadn't won anything in ages or made any Top 3's, then THREE in the same week.  Today it's Top 3 at Pin-spirational Challenge. Thanks ladies, Jx
