Stampin' In Alaska

  Okay, I must admit that the current Art Impressions challenge was, well, a little challenging!  I was stumped on "Magical Creatures" until I remember this little garden gnome in the Gotta Garden set 5000 .  Perfect! I stamped the image three times on X-Press It card stock, colored with alcohol markers and fussy cut.  A few random polka dots were added so that the center gnome would stand out.  "Gnome-one like you!"   A stencil from Tim Holtz was used for the circle background.  I finished the clean and simple design with a few enamel dots on the Stampin' Up! Crumb Cake card stock base. I was so honored when Art Impressions invited me to be their Guest Designer for July.  I have been a customer and fan of AI for many years.  My local stamp store carried the AI line and it was "love at first sight" for me.   Today I chose to create a fun birthday card with the adorable Art Impressions Frog set .  The image was stamped and wet embossed then colored with alcohol markers and fussy cut.  I created the base panel with Tim Holtz Rays stencil using Memento Tangelo and Dandelion inks.  A few gems and "Hoppy Birthday" sentiment complete the card. I'm playing along with the current House-Mouse Friends Monday Challenge with this sweet Iris Climber stamp.  The image was colored with Copic markers and Stickles accents. The cloudy sky was sponged with Memento Danube blue and a scallop stencil die as a mask.  A sentiment from Hero Arts and sequins finish the card. I recently stumbled upon this challenge blog in my FaceBook feeds!  So excited, I tracked down the blog and found that the current challenge fit perfectly with this adorable House-Mouse Cookie Crumbles set from Stampendous. The image was colored with Copic Markers, die cut and sponged.  Tim Holtz Splatters stencil was used to sponge the card base.   Coffee paper from Unity Stamps, twine and sequins finish the card. A quick birthday sentiment was stamped from Hero Arts. I'm sharing a last minute entry for the current Hero Arts Challenge - Embossing.  My card features an image and sentiment from the Hero Arts Monthly Kit for August 2018.  There were lots of yummy coffee images and coordinating sentiments in this set.  Love it! I decided to use a partial emboss technique that I haven't done for awhile.  I really like the effect and it's so simple!  You need a chipboard/cardboard shim with the center shape die cut.  I layer it on top of my emboss folder and run it through my Cuttlebug with the A and C plates.  Tim Holtz On The Go emboss folder was used for the panel. The embossed panel is Stampin' Up! Crumb Cake layered onto SU Real Red card stock.  The image has been colored with Copic markers. I'm sharing a quick card with the current challenge at Art Impressions.  The current theme is Summer Vibes.  I went in a little different direction by pulling out the AI Road Trip set and creating a little summer road trip scene.   Living in Alaska, we do a lot of scenic road trips.  I love this set and the Tim Holtz Rays stencil worked perfectly with the scene. Happy Friday Coffee Lovers!   It's the final day of the Fall Coffee Lovers Bloghop and I have a fun card to share.   I recently purchased the Tim Holtz On the Go embossing folder and HAD to use it this week.  It coordinates perfectly with the Tim Holtz image.  The sentiment is from Super Sponsor Unity Stamps and the stitched circle die is from Super Sponsor Pink & Main.   I also used the current SugarPea Designs challenge sketch as inspiration. When I saw the terrific inspiration provided over on the Moxie Fab World Blog I knew I wanted to use this fun, retro design by Tim Holtz. The challenge theme is sewing related. The main image (don't you love the pill box hat) was paper pieced. Buttons, lace and measuring tape twill have been added. Hope you get a chance to join in the fun!
